I have been eating at Lucky House Chinese Restaurant on Hammerly for several years. Ive always enjoyed it. It had been several months since Ive gone there, but today between 11:50a.m. and noon, I visited Lucky House. I noticed a fly in the pineapples, so I called over the only worker in the dining area. I pointed to the fly and she replied, "I know." She then turned to walk away and I said, "you know?" She said, "someone is coming to bring a new one." At that time, she picked up the pan, she started to pick the fly out, but it disappeared into the pineapple juice. She then stirred it, which made no sense to me. She took the pan to the back, and within a minute or so another lady came out with a pan of pineapples. I guess what really disturbed me is that she know it was there, but chose to leave it on the buffet. Her reaction should have been apologetic, but it was rude. She seemed to be upset that I brought it to her attention.

This is a very small buffet and what seems to be a family-owned establishment. I rated this 0/3 on Decor and Service not because it was poor-quality; rather, it was fair quality, just not good. The food was good, but the selections available are very limited and consists of one bar of options. The staff is not very friendly and although they clean the plates up adequately, they dont give any high-quality services whatsoever. The entire establishment is mediocre in cleanliness, but the restrooms are horrendous. I dont recommend this buffet because it still needs a lot of improvement and in my opinion, you can find better service just about anywhere else (even at the McDonalds across the street). Hopefully, they improve soon.

We visited last night and it was horrible. It saddens me that this restaurant has diminished over the years. The food was stale and hard as if it was old and when I asked that more food be put out the chicken tasted like it had already gone bad and they cooked it anyway. My husband served himself crawfish and they all had gray meat and were undercooked. There was a fly flying around the restaurant the entire time we were there. When I went to the dessert bar the fly was hopping from pastry to pastry, I informed the employee and he merely removed the pastries that HE saw the fly land on. It will be the last time we visit here.

Great food if you time it right. Best time is five thirty to six p.m. the food is fresh and hot on the buffet. After 5 p.m. they have shrimp. After 5 p.m. cheese cake is added on the dessert island. They really do need a down to earth cleaning on the inside of the restaurant, the doors, base boards, floors, and bottom halves of the walls near the food island and the restrooms. The tables and chairs and the food service area on the islands are very clean.

Lucky House... More like Yucky House! It is the worst buffet I ever been to!! The food just looks gross. I did not even eat much because I was disgusted. The food looks like its been out forever. Bugs around the food. Honestly this place looks like it needs to close down. The only reason I came here is because I loved it when I was little kid. Please close this place down or sell it to another owner! DONT GO HERE TRUST ME

Gave them 1 star , just because there is no negative star ! This place was terrible , i paid $10 basically to eat green beans and a coke , thats the only thing i could stomach. The rice , crab rangoons , and everything on this really small buffet , seemed to be OLD , the potstickers had a weird taste , like the meat was going bad ...... WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN !!!

Ive been coming here for 6 months now, my wife and I always come here on our break from work! Very friendly staff, respectful, and a fair price! Food is of decent variety and quality! Its kind of a ritual my wife and I have coming here at least once a week! Havent had any problems with this place at all! We love our food options here!

I go to this place at least once a week and I love it. All the negative comments people are giving are not true. If food is low or a little cold. They refill it and if you ask them they do it right away. Always clean and the waitress with the glasses is so beautiful

Most people do visit the place only because it is very cheap and the restaurant is never crowded. Their bathroom is DISGUSTING. The food seems a bit old. The chicken tasted real funny and this place will definitely give you the runs for a week

Food was horrible, they even messed up the tea somehow. The final nail in the coffin was when I found out they charge $0.25 for eaech fortune cookie! Insanity. I would not return if this was the last chinese buffet in Houston.

I eat here when I feel like being cheap. Not healthy or quality food at all, but what would you expect for $8/person? Theres typically few to little people there so if you dont like crowds that should work for you.

Their food is good with the exclusion of salads, (not fresh at all) and now crawfish (over cooked) they ruined my Saturdays, if its not for my dad that loves this place I would stop coming completely :-/

I love this place, the crawfish is really good. Not all the time, but its good. Theres just this one new Chinese lady with glasses. Shes rude and we dont like her. Might stop going because of her.

Cold food, not very much variety. The soft serve ice cream was watery. Wouldnt not come back. It was quiet though (because no one was there). You get what you pay for $7.39 for lunch buffet.

Dont ever go here. The place is DIRTY. Trash on floor. Carpet is black in spots. Left over food on dinner buffet. I will never go here again.

The bathrooms need to be burned down because cleaning them will not help. The food is always average but worth the money.
