Ah, where do I start..... Usually, restaurants and buffets have at least one person who would specifically take the customers to their tables, but there was NO ONE at the front desk when I was there! I know that "Golden" Star (GS) probably doesnt have a lot of customers because its crappy, but that doesnt mean there should be a lack of employees either. There were about ten people behind me and we had to wait for five [or more] minutes until someone shows up and it was a WAITRESS who was busy picking up plates and filling up glasses. So Im guessing GS doesnt have a hostess? The only good thing about this buffet is that theres a lot of variety, but it doesnt help if the food tastes like crap and even that is an understatement. Pork blood tastes a lot better than this, people!!! The chicken wings have yellow food coloring, probably to make the skin golden brown. Theyre not gold; Im not stupid, GS! You can tell because the food dye transferred onto the meat and fat. The mini custard pies have the texture of rubber sponges, the green beans are so fried that they lost their taste, and the noodles taste just...weird. Unacceptable service and atrocious food. Everyone, go treat yourself at all of the other restaurants out there. You deserve better than this!!!

My husband and I decided to try this resturant for the first time,that was the worst buffet we ever been too. We were having a good time at first and we tried to feed our son but he did not want to eat. We finished eating and they gave us our check. $38 dollars for 2 people and they even charged us for my son. The receipt said 5 feet child my son is not 5 feet! So I go to the front desk and tell them that my son is not 5 feet and he did not even eat anything. Almost all the staff came to the front desk and started arguing with each other. Then the manager finally told me she wont charge me this time but shr was giving me alot of attitude. She even trew the pen at me. Never again are we going there. Dont recommend anyone going either. Too expensive for food thats not worth it!

DONT EAT HERE!!!! I live in San Antonio TX and I wanted a buffet. They had 3.8 stars so I would assume that it would be decent. I payed 27.50 for 2 dinners and was not worth it at ALL. I love Buffets but this one was nasty. No flavor and there seafood selection is by far the worst I have ever eaten. Shrimp are small then my pinky nail and the fish has probably been sitting there ALL day. I would suggest that you take your hard earned money to a Chinese Buffet that will actually take pride in there food. And the funny part of all of this is MY Fortune Cookie was stale!!!! Lmao thats sad....

This place serves good crabs legs and they have good sushi!Their waiters are very prompt and they have many healthy options. They also have rhe hibachi grill and that is amazing you can have whatever you want. Again I really only go for the crabs legs which they never run out. But you cannot resist any of their tasty options. Everything is fresh go there around the time they open which is 11am because there are less people there.

This was the first buffet that I have been to that had signs posted on the walls saying all you can eat but extra charge for waisted food. I applaud them for trying to cut down on food waste, but I was afraid to try anything new. Being from the northwest I never had crawfish. I didnt want extra charge on my bill for wasted food.

Maybe it was my fault for going in the evening, but the food was entirely all a miss for me. Either not warm, had been out too long, or simply lacked in taste. It just didnt go well. I tend to give these buffets a bit more of my understanding, and I am tolerant of some of the misses. But this place was a total fail for me.

Food was very hot and fresh. Every time i went up for more someone was checking the buffet. You could tell they cared about what they were serving. The selection was great and it only cost $20 for a couple. The place was spotless too, unlike some of the nightmare stories i heard about some of the other buffets in the area.

Its mine and my familys first vacation here in H-Town and i saw the rating on this place said it was good but wow the food was cooled they wanted to charge my 4foot daughter at adult price and then they were argueing with my wife cause they didnt belive her that that was are daughter so never eat there. Go spurs go

I really gave this place a shot AS soon as i exited i had to write this review. Horrible food. TASTELESS RICE. THE FRIED DOG NUGGETS WERE HORRIBLE. THE EGG ROLLS HAD AN TAINTED TASTE... THE $13.00 I SPENT COULDVE BEEN SPENT BETTER ON RAMEN NOODLES. Keep driving stop at taco bell they serve better Chinese food.

Nice place, very clean and well organized. The food looks well prepared and presented. The problem was that the food is quite bland and mildly flavored. Weve been there twice and wouldnt go out of our way to get there again. There are better buffet options within a few miles.

I think the food is good. I dont eat sushi so, I dont know if is good or not. This place is very clean and near to my house. But compared to the other buffet on 34st . This one is better. By the way my child (and I) love the jelly haha

Really sweet staff, super good value!! For under 12 dollars a person for dinner you get unlimited yummy chinese food, soft shell crab, salt n pepper prawns, good sushi, and GOOD crawfish, PLUS theyll make hibachi for you!

These Chinese buffets are a fine a dozen here in Houston. Golden Star has a better variety and fresher selection than most. Its not fine dinning of course but you dont feel like youre eating leftovers.

STAY AWAY!!!! We both got food poisoning from this loction. The egg drop soup smelled rotten so we tried the shrimp and different meats. BIG MISTAKE!!! We were sick for almost two weeks.

The smell of dirty mop water was the first turn off then the chicken and broccoli was slimy the pepper steak was over done end scraps just drive by this place not woth getting sick
