Ive been going to Sweet Tomatoes for years, and its one of the few chain places that I will consistently visit. I consider it a Houston staple, and I always enjoy coming here whenever I was out of Texas for a long time. Sweet tomatoes premise is a salad buffet, but with much more. You have three pre-made salads, and then all the ingredients necessary to make your own salads plus more. You also have some pasta salads as well, and you can pay extra for protein for the salad. However, once youre in, youll see a hot food area, with 3 different rotating pastas (Mac & Cheese is decent, the others I find fairly bland), different types of breads and muffins (these are always good, and sometimes they have cobbler which is extremely delicious), and at least 8 soups. Plus baked and sweet potato stand with a dessert stand. Service is typical for a buffet, sometimes a bit slow when theyre packed, which happens a lot at this place. They always keep it clean, and food always looks fresh. Highly recommended for family and friends.

This is one of the coolest restaurants we got in Houston, specially if you are vegetarian or health conscious. With constantly changing delicious salads, literally dozens of amazing salad add-ons, amazing dressings and a soup buffet that just is an explosion of creativity, Sweet Tomatoes is THE place to eat healthy in Houston. Of course, is a buffet, so you can get as much as you want without having to worry too much about eating unhealthy stuff. Highly recommended for vegetarians trying to eat out (I know how you guys feel, Texans seem to eat meat just minutes after they are born). This place will make you feel like at home.

Skimpy on the chicken in chicken soup. Im being honest here but is upscale bread, salad, and flavovered water soups. Not a whole lot of selection unless you are into salads, but the price does not warrant the menu. I visit once a year and it reminds me why I dont visit so often. You are not missing anything by not going. Is overrated and Im dumfounded why the score is over 4.0. Believe me you will be disspointed if you think is a 4.0+ place. Lower your standards and you be okay.

Im an omnivore and this place definitely is more vegetation than I prefer. What they do have is good and theres quite a variety, including small servings of meat recently. Mostly soup and salad with themes on different days. If you like that kind of thing jump in and enjoy. Some friends want to go every day and others only when certain themes are going. Pricing is medium and its mostly self serve with attentive and well mannered staff available to assist as needed.

Apart from being a great deal, Sweet Tomatoes offers a huge buffer of very fresh salads and vegetables, perfect for vegetarians, vegans or anyone else trying to be healthy. I was excited to see this in Houston since I thought this chain only existed in Florida. There are also soups, pastas and a variety of less healthy items but if you stick to the main event, you wont be able to find this much salad anywhere for $7. Dont forget to check online for coupons.

This was my first visit to a Sweet Tomatoes, but I have been to similar places like Souper Salad. I was told that it was so much better, but it really wasnt. At this particular restaurant some of the salad was wilted & I didnt care for the dressings. The soups were good, but not great enough to make me want to come back. I will say it was very clean & the staff was so nice, but I probably will not be returning. Souper Salad is so much better.

Good food, but prices are a little higher than Id expect for what it is. $12-ish per adult without a drink. Kids are priced by age. There are coupons available if you check online at places like RetailMeNot that will essentially get you free drinks, but not really knock the price down below $12 per adult. It is a buffet, so perhaps its worth that. Its just that I dont eat massive amounts of food, so I never get my moneys worth at a buffet.

Was in the area and decided to try. Have eaten at Stafford and Willow Brook locations and they are great. This location was a disappointment. Were out of many options each time I was at bar, had to keep going back. Most all of the empty tables werent cleaned off and remained that way for a while. At least half of the plates I got were filthy. Perhaps it was a bad night for this location but its enough to keep me away.

The food is delicious and I normally would rate this 5 stars...BUT...the cashier was so snooty I almost left. She was horrible, talking down to me with every question I asked. Im not so sure Ill be back after experiencing her frostiness. This WAS a fantastic restaurant until today. Ill give it another chance in the hopes that she wont be here. Also...where is the Beef & Sausage Bolognese Pasta that is advertised?

The food was fresh and delicious! What I did not like was that the person that open the door was very friendly with the first two people that came in first. However when my family and I came in and say hi to her, she ignored us almost like she did not like us being there! I would understand if we were huge, but we are average and hispanic. I think that they should always be friendly to everyone no matter what!

The salad bar was well stocked and fresh. The layout is terrible. There are multiple areas of food and there is not a natural flow of traffic so its pretty stressful if its crowded. We didnt have trouble finding a spot even in a super busy Sunday. Pro tip: if you think you may want a baked potato grab one when you see them because they go quick. They also take forever restocking them.

Crowded yet always a place. Food is a B except if you like to build your own salad, then youd put food at an A. My father really likes it while I like the Salt Grass Steakhouse just walking distance away. By the way, if you want to go west after you finish eating, you can take the back roads to the next exit/entrance and cross under the freeway then go west.

The food was as good as to be expected and service was fine. The problem is the location. The sign is way too small and it looks abandoned from the road because the main entrance is in the back of the building. Ive lived in Houston all my life and travel I-10 nearly everyday and had no clue this place was even here until a friend pointed it out.

Amazing Restaurent, where everything is fresh and yummy. I would suggest anyone to give it a try, they have open salad bar with an open buffet for soups and pizzas as well as macaroni and cheese and other delicious spaghetti dishes. An open buffet for deserts and ice cream. Dont forget to check in at yelp then theyll give you a 20% discount.

Food is always good, fresh, & warm. I love everything about this place except the size. On every table is a sign you flip to let the bus boys know youre done eating or are still eating, but be warned on busy days just to be safe always have someone at your table or somebody might take it & youll be stuck waiting for a new table & drinks.
