Id actually give this place 2.5 stars instead of three. Despite hearing many good things about this restaurant, the experience didnt quite live up to the hype. A friend ordered General Tsos chicken-- it looked like no General Tsos chicken Id ever seen before--big round balls of chicken drenched in dark brown sauce--hardly appetizing and tasted worse than it looked. When asked if it could be sent back (due to dissatisfaction) and to order another dish, we were told that there was nothing wrong with the dish and that we would be charged for the dish since there was nothing wrong with it. (I wonder how the waiter knew there was nothing wrong, did he taste it beforehand?!?) The other dish ordered was pepper steak--the onions and peppers were very undercooked. On the bright side, the egg rolls were good. It should also be noted that soft drinks are served by the can--and thus, no free refills. There arent many good Chinese restaurants in the area. If the service here were better, it might make up for the fact that the food isnt great.

Love coming here for lunch time. The food is ala carte so its served hot and fresh. The prices cant be beat for the lunch hour. Its a small restaurant so sometimes its packed. I recommend the fried dumplings as an app if your eating with some one. The dumplings are just so good. Everyone Ive taken to eat there love the dumplings and its so funny to see them wanting to eat the last one, but they feel so self conscious or guilty and I have to say "go for it, its your first time here my treat" I love that I can do that, I feel like such a pimp

I see bad reviews here and I am puzzled. Im a finicky eater and when paying for a meal I dont have to cook I want good service, good food, good price, decent quantity and cleanliness. My family and I eat here about once a month and the service, food, cleanliness is always great. I would recommend this Chinese restaurant to any one who wants some good all around chines food. They are always very nice and the food is always very good. I have always had a good experience here and thats why we keep going back when we want Chinese food.

We went there last week for lunch on our lunch hour - we had to ask the waiter three times where are food was - all the tables that were seated after us got their food in ample time - finally our waiter told us they had lost our ticket in the kitchen. After waiting almost 45 minutes we told him just to pack it up, "to go" because we could not wait any longer. No apology from our waiter and he could have cared less about the situation. They never even offered to comp our meal. That will be my last visit!

ok... believe me or not. u be the judge. I have literally eaten Chinese from almost every Chinese place in Houston. From high priced to low. Save yourself the gas on this one. unless you like eating food that is terrible. If you go to a Chinese place and not even the fried rice is good thats a problem. its like judging a Mexican restaurant based on their salsa. if they cant get the basics right then dont expect much from the entres..... Please save your money and go somewhere else. anywhere else.....

It was suprisingly Greatttttttttttttttt!!! I loved it The "Dont judge a book by the cover" comment descibes the restaurant perfectly it maybe ugly on the outside but beautiful on the inside LOL marble table and delicious food. The food was delicious I loved the wonton soup and the special fried rice and the crab cream wontons are delicious. I am definitely going back because I loved the food. This is my favorite restaurant from now on =)

Me and my wife ordered take out. We got egg drop soup, fried egg roll, steamed dumplings and general TSOs chicken. It cost $20.35 not a bad price but when you end up throwing all of it out except the fried egg roll it puts it into perspective. The food was not even edible, I have no idea why so many people rated this place so high as I threw all my food out except for the fried egg roll. I do not recommend eating here.

Ive been eating at this for the past few years and its wonderful each time. The prices are reasonable and the people are great. I would recommend this place to everyone I know. The quality of the food is not found anywhere else. You have to they them. They a are also will to cater to your needs on the dishes. This makes it even better place to go.

Many might not know but this place has been here for many many years...I was told over 30. Anyway Ive been in Oak Forest since before the $750,000 houses showed up and eaten here the whole time. Its wonderful food so dont let the outside keep you from walking in the doors and enjoying great food at a reasonable price and close to home.

Dont judge book by cover - best in the area. Found them on Google. Been trying to find good chinese in this area for 8 years. This is it! Had gen tso chicken. And yes ... They let you take tea to go. (Update ... 50 cents for tea togo). Ask if dish is spicy. Mine was but i loved it. My buddy is sweating and his glasses fogged up.

For whats its worth, its good... this is close to my home and the best Ive had since Ive moved to this side. My order wasnt all the way correct, but they small things that I can overlook, and hopefully next time, well be clear on the order. As for as the food taste, quality, preparedness, etc.. it was all great and fair prices!

I like Eastern as much as the next guy, but I had at least 2 mosquitoes in my won ton soup in my recent order. In addition the last 3 orders I made special requests and each one was not followed. Come on Eastern, step it up a notch. Mosquitoes carry contagious diseases and blood if they have bitten someone.

This business stinks. I ordered a tea, did not drink it and I was told I could not get a cup to take it to go unless I paid for another tea. The waiter then felt it was ok to continue an argument over a cup! And my famuly frequents this business regularly. Hope .10 cup was worth losing the business.

I have lived in Oak Forest for four years and had driven past the place a hundred times. I read the good reviews here on Google and decided to give it a shot. I was pleasantly surprised. The food is great and the service is fast. Dont be like me and judge the place by the way the building looks.

Food is yum, but service isnt. The older man who delivers will demand a tip and get mad if you dont give it to him even though they make u pay a $15 minimum to deliver and a delivery fee. So be prepared for that man bc hes rude.
