I have been to golden bowl 10-15 times with no issues until yesterday. I ordered a few pieces of sushi and a house salad. The salad was over $5 so I expected a nice sized salad with quality ingredients. What I got was a soup sized bowl filled with the bottom of a head of iceberg. ( I can only assume they use the green leaf for lettuce wraps or something). It was all yellow. I explained to my waitress that I was unhappy with the salad as they were charging too much for what they were giving me. This made Amy ( who was not even my server) very angry. She proceeded to very loudly tell me " next time you no order sad" over and over again all though the restaurant making a pretty big scene about it. She then went into the kitchen and started screaming at people in there. After that she came back over to me and put her face about 6" from mine to tell me something else. I didnt listen, and at that point stood up to back away from her. This strange lettuce altercation carried on for several more minutes as I didnt want to just walk out without paying for my other food. I then asked for manager. Guess what? There is no manager!!! I told my waiter that I was going on I go to my car and get my business card for the owner to call me when he is in on Friday so I could come back to pay my bill. When I went to go get my card Amy thought I was trying to run my tab and proceeded to follow me screaming at the top of her lungs. It was insane. The whole deal carried on for ten more minutes before he kitchen manager came out and told me he was sorry. , and to not worry about my $9 tab. I have never seen anyone act like this over something so rediculous. To lose a repeat customer over $ 0.20 worth of lettuce just doesnt make any sense to me at all. Wont be back.

We have been here several times. Good sushi good service, really good food. But the waitress Amy is a piece of work. She is so nice and sweet one minute and then yelling crazy the next minute. There were 4 of us at a table and somehow they mixed up two of the orders. They were very nice and took them back but when they brought them back out, they had the exact same mix-up for which they were originally returned. Amy, who was not our waitress came to the table and was yelling at my niece that "she order wrong foo two time". I politely explained that this was not our fault and that she should probably stop yelling because people think she is crazy. She took the plates back to the kitchen again and was yelling so loud in the kitchen. It was absolutely crazy. Because of that we have not been back and will not go back. Get staff that can understand good engrish and dont yell at customers. This is not the first time we have been witness to the mouth of Amy. It happened before to other patrons while we were there.

One of those places only the people in Spring, TX know about, Golden Bowl has a very diverse blend of Japanese and Chinese cuisine. The sushi is 8/10 which is surprising for a hole in the wall restaurant thats trying to have something for everyone. They have great specials ranging from far East traditional meals, popular American imports, and home grown dishes if you are up for something creative. Pricing is typical in the mid-range of $10-20 a plate, however there are two surprise standing specials that would stun a penny-pincher: free soup (5 typical choices) and kids meals priced at just 99c Friday-Sunday. Wow! A family of 4 will save $23 average if every one got soup. Previously there we had complaints about unfriendly staff, but this has been resolved. My recent visits (we eat there twice a month) have shown a friendly staff ready to serve. A small, family restaurant, good prices, good food, friendly staff. Its a Gem. Spring, TX thanks you Golden Bowl!

I used to go every Friday night and the server Amy recognized me and offered me a Pepsi like usual, this particular night I had no cash to leave her a tip, the service was ok, The food was cold, it took longer than usual to receive my meal and once In our car, Amy walks out and asks us why we didnt tip her. She said her manager asked her to ask us why we didnt tip her that night. I offered to bring back a tip because I had no cash and I asked to see the manager that asked her to come out and approach me in my car. The manager never came out and since then I have not been back. My intention was not to tip her but if I was not satisfied with my experience I am not obligated to tip and no one should come out and ask me as to why once I am in my car.

If you can get over the lead waitress has an anger management issue, the food is really good. I just ignore it or think its funny. Just think of it as part of the experience when you come. I brought my folks for the first time, pre-warned them about her behavior and they actually were laughing like it was dinner theater. I do think some items may have MSG in it though so if you are sensitive be careful. A couple of us had headaches and the only thing in common was the fried rice. But otherwise we have not had one bad thing, their cream cheese wontons are the best around.

I have eaten here before and was very happy the first time. But today was a different story, sat down for lunch around 1:00. Our waitress seemed angry and barely checked on us the entire time. She took my plate when I wasnt finished with my egg roll and tried to take my entree plate as well before asking if I wanted a box. The food quality wasnt what I remembered. I dont think we will be back again. Please tell your waitress "Sophia" to have a better attitude towards your guests.

This used to be a wonderful spot to eat but they have become so cheap. The portion sizew are now a 3rd of what they used to be and not at all worth the price. Their staff is always speaking loud and disruptively while we are trying to enjoy our meal. They dpnt even know the proper Japanese names for the items on their menue i had to go behind the counter and explain what was what agter they failed to bring my tabel the correct shashime 3 times.

Our server was friendly and informative, and the food was freaking delicious! I felt a small pang of guilt when I took those first few bites, because I realized in that moment that this place trumped my long time go-to, hole-in-the-wall sushi place... seriously, dont doubt yourself. Just go and try it. It super affordable, so if it doesnt turn out to be your new favorite, like mine, then you wont be that disappointed. :)

I give it two stars because my chicken egg rolls where the best part of the meal. I spent $29.12 on food that was luke warm and by the time I made it home (less then a mile away), it was evident. I wont be back, I was skeptical, especially since I placed the order at 8:25pm, Im pretty sure they closed soon after. So, dissapointed in the food but the egg rolls hit the spot!
