Ive been going to bosta since its soft opening way back when they had the original blue label burger and shared a space with museum park cafe. Through all of its iterations, I kept going because the people were nice and the coffee was pretty good. While a new chef curated a fantastic menu and the people they hire are always nice, I can no longer recommend bosta to my friends. Im not sure if ownership has changed, but the previous owner often complained about people coming to work on things because they stayed for hours and wouldnt buy things. A valid concern, but by removing all of the outlets, hes showcasing a pretty passive aggressive attitude that just comes off as extremely petty as opposed to creative problem solving. The food is wildly inconsistent. I have tried pretty much everything on the menu. The fried chicken and lamb sausage are pretty great and the portions on the sides for fried chicken dinners are great, but the staff turnover is crazy high. People are constantly learning how to do things, so you never get the same drink, food, or even to go box twice. (Sometimes its cardboard and sometimes its plastic - depends on the night or person). The only thing semi-worth going to is $2 wine night because you can get sufficiently tipsy for like $6 bucks. Plus, youre not contributing a whole lot to a business that doesnt really care about either customers or employees. Despite a great concept and support from a great chef who may or may not still be with the company, this iteration of bosta is a hard pass.

Apparently this Bosta Kitchen was a coffee shop before but is now restaurant. I never came here before the addition of the kitchen so I cannot compare it to before. We came here for a quick coffee after being in the area. When we first walked in, somebody greeted us right away and allowed us to sit anywhere. He attended to us like a server, so I could definitely tell this place is more restaurant than coffee shop! The atmosphere, interior, and decor is very nice and modern, also kind of quiet with light music. I could definitely see this as a place to get a coffee or quick meal with friends. It seems it is not so much a study area anymore since they turn off their wifi during peak times, which makes sense if they are trying to roll out a restaurant. I ordered a naughty latte, which was a latte with Nutella (hazelnut and dark chocolate), whip cream, and chocolate. The drink also came with a small, lemon flavored biscotti. The drink itself was very delicious, though I would call it more of a dessert coffee. The whip cream was very creamy and tasty as well. I wanted to order a pastry to go along with my drink but the server said they ran out yesterday (Saturday) and will get more the next day (Monday). Overall, I love the atmosphere and the drink I had. Despite the other reviews, I thought the customer service was good, they were very attentive and checked up on us often. However, I would like to come back and try actual coffee and the food! Also for those that play Pokémon Go, there is a pokestop here!

Bosta Coffee and Wine has all the necessary "coffee accouterments" to please any mercurial belly and when paired with their deliciously delectable food you will think you have died and gone to heaven. Bostas food menu compliments its modern vibe with a selection of salads, paninos (thats what they call them) and charcuterie sharables. The Paninos look and smell amazing. The perfectly crispy bread and ooey-gooey cheese makes them hard to resist. Their salads are simply beautiful and oh-so fragrant. They pop with color against the deep white salads bowls. FREE PARKING, FREE WIFI (password: vegetables, thank me later) , great food and beverage, dope decor and impeccable service. Hell, the water is even the bomb here. This is my kind of place. Bosta is open Daily from 7am – Midnight Bosta is GREAT for small group meetings or an after work "kick-back." In addition to the tables there are comfy couches tucked away in the corners and a dog friendly patio outdoors facing Binz St. Note: due to the setup with the bar in the middle the place can get a little noisey when busy. This is a kid-friendly place. So should you be enjoying a weekend at the Childrens Museum (Directly across the street) and need a little pick me up after chasing children for hours check them out. You wont be disappointed. Caramel flat white with almond milk - $3.00 Prosciutto Panino (italian ham, smoked mozzarella, arugula) - $12.00 Caesar Salad (white anchovy, crispy egg, parmesan, lemon vinaigrette) - $12.00

The decor inside was beautiful. Very modern and fun, so we expected the food to be on par with that as well. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre at best. My husband and I got the brie, asparagus, and mushroom omelette (sounds delicious, right??), but unfortunately it lacked FLAVOR. Seasoning wasnt right on it, it didnt enhance the flavors like seasoning should. There were big chunks of brie in it, which I did appreciate. We also ordered a plate of pancakes, and I have to say that for $8.25, we expected a lot more out of those pancakes. They were just "meh..." Just so very bland, which I didnt even know was possible for a pancake. I understand simplicity, and I understand trying to keep with wholesome ingredients, but you cant expect that to carry you through 100%. Food still needs flavor and seasoning! We spent $30 for 4 bland pancakes, a underseasoned 3 egg omelette, and 2 watery coffees, so price wasnt wonderful either for what we recieved. We dont mind spending money for good food. In fact. I would suggest to raise the $8.25 pancakes to $9.25, but provide two eggs and some bacon or sausage on the side, to make it worth the customers while. Maybe add hasbrowns or something with the omlette.... Easy, quick, and cheap ingredients, but it would go a long way for any customer. We go to the zoo frequently, but probably wont be stopping back here unfortunately. We really wanted to like it, but it just didnt hit the mark for us.

UPDATE: Gone is my beloved neighborhood wine bar. It was like Dorothy in Wizard of Oz. We all had to wake up sometime and get back to Kansas. The management seems to have changed. The staff has changed. The offerings have changed. Its now just a chill coffee shop with a couple wines. I only go now for quick coffee when I need to get out of the office or have a meeting. I think they still have ahppy hours but my salmon rillet is gone. So whats the point really? -- Whats in a paycheck, anyway? Im securing my place as a responsible adult by spending more money than mom would have ever approved of on wine and salmon rillette. The happy hour wines are a great entre but there are some great finds on the menu - or do like I do - and just ask your server. They know everything and are quite accomodating to everyones palate and adventures. I havent had anything food for breakfast but I do pop in on my way to the office even if its just for a black cup of coffee or double espresso. I just cant help myself. They always make me smile (and for me, my morning coffee if like falling in love everyday).

I used to love this place but it just gets worse everytime I go. They have a terrible employee turn-over rate so they are never trained properly. Non of them can make coffee what so ever, but they will still charge you full price for watered down espresso and lattes that are basically milk poured over coffee since they dont know how to steam the milk. Dont bother asking about coffee varieties or origin because the look at you like youre an idiot. The only thing consistent is the food and you know the cooks are the ones getting paid the least. The staff knows nothing about wines. They dont even know common grapes like Morvedre, Alicante, Gamey, Sangiovese... Ask for any of those wines, they wont know what you are talking about. Not to mention that those are all common wines grown in Texas except for the Gamey. Save your money, there are small cafes around the area that sell coffee for less and their baristas know what they are doing.
