This coffee shop is AMAZING! I came here for the first time today to study with several of my classmates. I was there from about 10:00 AM - 8:30 PM studying for finals. Every staff member I encountered was beyond polite and welcoming. I had a Flat White, Americano and Chicken Mozzarella Salad, all were amazing. By far the best lunch Ive ever had at a coffee shop. For anyone looking for a place to study here are my PROS: 1) The tables are HUGE, which is conducive for having a lot of books or large study groups. 2) The layout is awesome! Although it was fairly crowded I was not distracted by noises etc which usually happens when Im at a crowded Starbucks etc. 3) The bathroom is super clean and adorable. 4) Im going to say it again but the staff is downright amazing. They were very welcoming and did not mind the length of time we were there studying. Ive been to my fair share of coffee shops in the Houston area and this is hands down the best one Ive been to. 10 stars!

There are pictures of sloths all over the place, so A+ on theme. But its not overwhelming, and the rest of the decor is gorgeous - vintage, lots of wood and turquoise metal. Theres lovely outside space as well. I recommend the caramel macchiato, the dirty chai, the ham and brie croissant, and the paninis. On what seems in hindsight to have been a normal afternoon, several families stopped by to grab a bite, several folks were working away on their laptops, and a few meetings took place at the big tables. It really feels like the perfect neighborhood coffee bar, and somehow managed to be buzzing without being distracting. The music selection is great fun. This place is my favorite.

Best new coffee shop and wine and beer-ery in Oak Forest! They source locally renowned sweet treats like brownies and pastries and such but its their sweet and rather charming staff that are the foam on top of quite a brilliant coffee experience!!! Come here for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Coffee anytime. Locals and engaging conversation are abundant and free here. They have a patio that will be opening soon and the space is really beautiful. Large wooden tables inside and a gorgeous marble counter with big overhead soft lighting makes it super cozy.

Had a really good experience here. The staff is really friendly and the food is great. The sandwiches are served on pretzel buns, which are just fantastic. They serve vietnamese coffee porter which is perfect if youre trying to simultaneously chill and work on something. One little gripe: the stools do not have anywhere to put your feet, so maybe including a footrest might make it a little more comfortable.

I had the pleasure of stopping in here for what I thought was a short coffee break, but the relaxed atmosphere and attention to the most minute details in both design and service had me wanting to pull up a good book and take over one of the corner tables for the better part of the day. I will be back soon and often. Cannot wait to see what they do with the patio space!

Great vibe, music, and drinks (especially the tea). My wife LOVES the sandwiches here too. We bring our dogs and hang on the patio. Only thing I could ask for would be plugs for the center tables. My old laptop cant last without one. All of the seats along the walls/bar have plugs, but it can get too packed for a plug spot.

Slowpokes is a great, local, neighborhood coffee shop for the greater Oak Forest/Garden Oaks/Shepherd Forest area. Focusing on local vendors, including Geva Coffee, Boomtown Coffee, St. Arnold, Karbach Brewery, to name a few! Stop by for a great place to slow down, and chat with the owners and staff. Solid place!

Quaint little coffee shop with a nice outdoor area. Theres a little yard qith trees and a swing and a picnic bench. You wouldnt kmow this place even existed if you were just passing by. Needs better signage. The convenience store that its attached to is somewhat ghetto. The exterior needs an update.

Had a pleasure to stop by this coffee place. Great people, good coffee, and the place itself is interesting, with a story behind the design, which lacks in most boring places around Houston. Very unique and pleasuring experience. Bringing my friends there to try their wine selection soon.

Great coffee, great environment, and wonderful staff. This is my new go-to coffee stop on weekends. Weve also stopped by in the evenings for some after-dinner drinks, and Slowpokes provides a great environment to chat. Gems like Slowpokes are what makes the GOOF area so great.

Finally... A coffee shop in the neighborhood that knows how to make a Cortado. Great outdoor area too. Beer and wine available along with a variety of coffees, teas and other beverages. The salads are huge and fresh. The grilled cheese is the bomb!

This is one of my favorite coffee places in Houston, but its also a great neighborhood place for wine, beer, and various light food options. Come here for a neighborhood hangout spot with a nice patio and the occasional food truck.

This place is such a gem - it at the end of a mini-mart type building on the corner of 34th and Ella (maps makes it hard to find). They have wine, beer, coffee, tea, and bites. Very clean and open - everything was delicious!

Im a regular and spend a few hours working during the day (2-3 times a week). Staff is always friendly no matter who is on shift. Food and coffee are always excellent. Wish the Wi-Fi didnt cut you off so frequently though.

Fantastic neighborhood coffee shop with a family vibe. Board games and picnic tables abound. Tons of outdoor area and one of a kind decor inside. The mens room - I opened the door and exclaimed "God damask!"

Enjoyed the atmosphere a lot. I had the tea, and it was a good loose leaf. My wife had an iced latte and it was decent but not a stand out latte. The place is fairly expensive, but it has a fun vibe.

Loved SlowPokes! Friendly, warm, cozy, inviting atmosphere! It also helps that the Iced Latte was outstanding and the Baristas raised the bar on customer service

Nice place to get work done. However, I found the tall stools have arent the most comfortable. Im well over 6 foot tall & moved when a booth like seat opened up.

Very cool atmosphere and definitely chill, but even with a short line, the coffee takes a while. Very pricey, but worth it if you plan on staying for a while
