When I was asked to check out The Doshi House, I asked, "What is a doshi?" I soon came to find out. A group of friends and I had met up to have dinner and proceeded to Doshi House after dinner. As we pulled up to the place, I thought I was being punkd or something. The place, from the outside looked a little scary to me. As we approached the building, I was able to see the inside of the place and how it looked as a unique little coffee shop. When we went inside, we were greeted by no other than Mr. Doshi himself. We began talking and he explained the drinks and answered whatever questions we had. Great customer service and overall good guy. I had ordered two drinks, first was the Affogato, very delicious drink, just make sure to stir the ice cream in. Second drink I ordered was the coconut frappe, it was really good, definitely a different experience to a frappe. Overall, its a good coffee shop with good customer and great drinks. I have found my new hang out spot.

Finally checked out Doshis cafe after hearing many good things about this place. Some of my fellow yelpers kept on going on & on about this place. I came here for lunch with a friend of mine and it was delightful. I got the artisan grill sandwich with a cappuccino with almond milk both really good. Friend of mine ordered the mumbai street sandwich with a thai tea. She was delighted with her choices as well. The facility to me looks like somebody cleaned out a thrift store and put all the furniture at this place. Not like theres anything wrong it that. Just random items here & thereThe atmosphere is nice, quite and homie. Definitely a good place to study, or read, whatever sinks your ship. We were probably the only people for a for a little while. I need to come back to this place for dinner. Try out the dinner menu. Looks legit. Lots of different variety. Im sure to like anything I order from this place. Ill be back.

This place is a hidden gem! I actually bookmarked it before and forgot! Upon picking my sister up from the megabus station we were looking for a relaxing place with great ratings on Yelp to catch a breather before dinner. I saw the 5 stars and had to give it a try and we were both quite satisfied. I had the chai latte and my sister the karak chai with nasta. It was Ah-Mazing! Im actually not a fan of chai since I have had so many bad experiences but this was so delightful and soothing I was extremely happy to have stumbled upon this place and to think we nearly passed it because we thought it was closed due to the tinted windows. I also got the vegan empanadas to go and had it for brunch today with my vegetarian boyfriend and he found it so delicious. I must go back again! It was a real treat and highly recommended for all!

BROWN POWER! Okay that was a compliment to Deepak s genius of fusing an Italian café with a traditional Indian tea house! Couldnt possibly be a more questionable part of town but it brings the corner of Dowling and Holman to life! Ample parking, nice big patio with an "interestingly" decorated interior. Everything screams "triple cutie"! He makes all his syrups from scratch which is evident in his lattes. Very robust espresso and rich vanilla flavor. Now. The Cha. Traditional Punjabi Tea with milk and sugar. Deepak slips in a little green cardamon in there and livelies it up! Dip the provided cookie in the tea but no longer than half a second or you will lose it to the tea. I lost three cookies in my cha lol!

The Doshi House is one of my favorite places in 3rd ward to grab coffee and some veggie lunch options. Deepak is the coolest guy and is always so pleasant when I visit. There are people who are "skeptical" of this place due to its location but there are missing out! There is a tiny parking lot and ample street parking. As with anyplace, lock your car and/take your valuables. I cant believe I am saying this as nothing has ever happened to me and I dont foresee it happening. The Paninis are amazing I suggest any of the three. The "Moon" spritzer is my favorite drink and the smoothies are AMAZING. They serve dinner and brunch now with all items being vegetarian friendly. Stop in and show Deepak some love!

Lets start with the positive. Like the majority of reviews state, the coffee is freaking awesome. Try the Mughal latte. It has a saffron spice that you will be amazed by. I know it doesnt sound good, but trust me-it is worth trying. The staff is very friendly. The Turkish coffee was also great (see picture). Negatives - the physical condition of the property is not great. But they are working on it. Also, they dont have decaf. The music can be a little loud, but it is pleasant. So, not quite five stars... yet, but a great experience. Ill be back.

This place is awesome. Ive been here three times and the food is amaze-balls. They slow down a little when they are busy (if you are used to fast food), but there are only two working and the food is always worth the extra 5 minutes wait. If your idea of excellent decor is highly polished and ready for Interior Design Magazine, maybe you wont like the decor. But if your tastes are eclectic and authentic, you will like it. This is my favorite discovery in Houston after living in Austin for 17 years.

In efforts to try new things I ordered the Mumbai Street sandwich and it was tasty! The dried banana chips that came with it were good too. The second time I visited the Doshi House I ordered a hot chocolate and took advantage of the free WiFi. The Doshi House is a good place to check out if you are looking for something new and different, especially if you find yourself in the Midtown-TX Southern/University of Houston area. Good food, good prices, good service, what more can you ask for?

Doshi is a gem of a coffee house in the Third Ward area. The have great vegan options and a wide variety of teas to choose from. They also have a wide variety of artwork from local artists and feature live music frequently. The only thing keeping them from 5 stars is their abysmal wifi. If you plan on coming here to study (with a computer) or get any work done (with a computer) then you should look elsewhere. In fact, snail mail would be a quicker and more productive option for you.

A wonderful visit every time, for coffee or smoothies or their evening dinner starting at 5(though panini are well done, for earlier in the day). An eclectic and random setting of paintings and sculpture, pieces and trinkets spot the cozy little house. I only ever visit, but apparently in the the past there was live music and from what Im told a larger space is coming for that in the future. Thanks to the staff,

Holly Damn!! This Place Is AMAZING!!!! I walked in the place with an attitude like the main character in "Green Eggs & Ham" by Dr. Seuss.... I LOVE Meat and did not expect to eat the VERY BEST Fajitas I have ever had at a VEGAN establishment. The ONLY down side is that they only serve this INCREDIBLE Meal on Friday nights. Come check them out! Everything i have eaten here goes from Delicious to Out of This World!
