I love visiting coffee shops. I like to people watch and clear my mind. Theres something about coffee that calms me in the mornings. If Im tired or need a pick me up, coffee energizes me. I love to walk in a building and smell the aroma of coffee in the air. I had a chance to go and sit down at throughgood coffee and relax for a bit. The coffee shop sits on 732 W. 27th in the Houston Heights. Its closer to north Shepherd. Pastor Rudy Rasmus who pastors at St. Johns Church in downtown Houston, along with his wife, opened the neighborhood friendly coffee shop a few months ago. Youll find a message on the website that reads: Changing Lives Through-Good Coffee. One of the coolest parts of visiting the shop was the Vinyl Record Player sitting on the counter! The staff welcomed me as soon as I walked in the door. The barista welcomed my questions about the coffee, the shop and the area. @throughgoodc partners with other local businesses like Morning Stars Donuts. The coffee shop offers a great patio area and is pet friendly. The parking area is large enough, so I dont believe there would be problems with parking. I received good vibes all around and of course my coffee and powdered cake donut was good too! If you want to try a new coffee shop or need a place for a quick business meeting head over to Throughgood coffee and let me know how you like it.

Throughgood has a great environment for socializing, working remotely (fast wifi, outlets, and spacious), and learning about craft coffee. This is the best coffee Ive had in Houston. The head barista, Rudy, is very knowledgeable and skilled in coffee. He pulled me a very well balanced and nuanced espresso in addition to producing great microfoam on the milk side of the machiatto (rare to see latte art in demitasse). As a multi roaster, they serve local fresh roasted craft coffee, and do a great job at bringing out the flavors without all the bitter notes. Make sure to bake a point to talk to the barista about his recommendations and the daily offerings!

A great coffee place with good pastries and fairly inconvenient hours. I would love to stop by here after work but they close at 4:30 most days - its a nice treat to stop by when I can make it though! There is a nice outdoor area that would be good for kids if they had anything else that was kid friendly. I try to give my kid better food than pastries, so this isnt an ideal kid friendly weekend stop for me.

Lovely spot for an excellent coffee, latte, espresso. They have food options like quiches, donuts, scones and some deserts. Most of the food is made by an outside catering company tgat is fantastic. We had a brisket quiche. Seating available in 2 areas inside and ample outdoor seating. They have an enclosed dog park area and bean bags/cornhole game set up for kiddos.

Throughgood is a beautiful coffee shop. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and even a little dog yard to bring your pups. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable about coffee. They make exceptional espresso beverages and fantastic pour-overs. Throughgood is definitely a bomb place to hang out and a coffee shop like this is extremely welcome in The Heights.

Great coffee and great local food. We had two iced lattes, a donut, and a breakfast taco. Great music but not loud at all so made for a good place to meet people or get some work done. Only downside was they were out of a lot of their food by 10 so choices were pretty limited. All in all, really happy to have this place in the neighborhood.

Stopped for lunch on a Monday. VERY tasty flat white (and a scone) for just shy of $9. Minimal choices for anything to accompany the coffee (hence the scone) and certainly no lunch options. Nice location/building. Business appeared slow. Hopefully they can make enough to remain open. Ill certainly return for the occasional coffee.

I had the privilege of visiting through good coffee on the second day of opening and thoroughly enjoyed the coffee and pleasant service. So came back after 8 weeks of them being opened. My sister son and I enjoyed the atmosphere coffee and the vintage albums that was playing in the lobby! What a great neighborhood treat!

Fast service and a great latte. They also have a large outdoor patio area with ample seating. I was pleased to see some tasty fresh juices on the menu as well. The outdoor area is dog friendly and even features a small fenced yard. Overall, great experience and I will definitely be back.

They support organizations that help homeless causes. They need to display that more in their coffee shop, and not just a sidenote on their website ! The coffee was excellent, and I loved the expansive outdoor patio. There was an enclosure for people to bring their dogs also.

Stopped in this morning for 2 cups of coffee ("Batch Brew Black") and a snack. We drink lots of black coffee all day long and this was Not Fresh. It tasted like it had been on the burner for some time. We hope they improve, we are hopeful.

Super friendly staff, awesome coffee. Solid vinyl grooves in the main space, and a pretty quiet front room. And with their community service oriented outlook, you can get good coffee and feel good about it. Highly recommend.

Friendly service and cozy feel though coffee is just okay. They have a huge outside area but it will be tricky to sit outside with Texas weather.
