The owners are always welcoming and the entertainment they provide on Friday evenings is a lot of fun. Family and friends we know come in and always want to visit Barcenas. It is convenient to have a Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood that exceeds the big chain restaurants. The food is great especially the very spicy Homeros barbacoa enchiladas. When they are busy, service is a bit slow but mention to the staff that you need things and they will welcome you with open arms. Be patient and you will enjoy, if you are rushed then I would not recommend.

I just celebrated my nieces baby shower here at Barcenas on Almeda Genoa...and now iam starting to plan my birthday here also...it was the BEST our servers treated all our guest super special on a 1 on 1 not leaving anyone out...they were so suprised on the service and how fast they attended each and everyone...the food was awsome...and for anyone who has never been here YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOUR MISSING....i will highly recommned this place to anyone...Once again thank you for your service and to the Managers, GREAT JOB.......:-)

Great Mexican food! We were looking to eat Mexican one day and we walked into this place. We immediately liked the fact that it was clean. The staff was very attentive to our needs. I ordered the Carnita plate and absolutely fell in love with the place. My wife ordered the fajita plate and felt the same way. We have since taken both of our kids there and they havent complained yet. They also love the food. The prices are reasonable; we can afford to feed a family of four at this place and not regret anything about it!

I had a problem here with salt beans but I have been back for the dollar beer every Wednesday and at some point I will give the food a try again the problem with this place is that the area is full of way better Mexican food restaurants so the competition actually blows this place away but I will try again and see what happens. It was not just the beans were to salty but the carnitas on the other hand had no salt at all and because of that tasted like nothing seemed like they had no seasoning.

My favorite Mexican Restaurant for last decade. Serves traditional Tex-Mex. Excellent service every time. Margaritas and queso are excellent. Not too crowded like the mainstream chains. Only complaint is that over the years Ive seen the prices increase like crazy. My Tacos Al Carbon were under $10 when I first moved here in 2004 and the same dish is $14.50 today. Still, its way better than most of the places around here but now the prices are just as high.

The salsa for the huevos rancheros is a bit too salty and the beans too. My table was supposed to get 3 orders of tortillas and we only received one. Waiter took too long to come back so i had to go look for him. My pollo vegetable looked good but not to my liking. Ham and eggs plate is very delicious. First cup of coffee was cold and again, waiter was lost so i had to tell the lady (that was serving the chips) for a hot coffee. Im sure i wont go again.

Great drink specials, awesome food and very good service. Theres a spicy green sauce you have to ask for but it alone makes this place the best. Its the same sauce they put on the Homeros Barbacoa Enchiladas (ask to switch the Barbacoa with beef, its totally worth it.) They also have $1 beers Monday and Wednesday, kids eat free on Tuesday, and $2 Coronas and margaritas and karaoke on Thursday. Best place Ive found in Houston.

I was the first customer at Barcenas when they opened up back in the days! I met my wife there. She was a waitress at the time so scooped her up on out of there! YEARS LATER TO THIS DAY WE STILL GO! Loved the food and the atmosphere.Their Enchiladas Suizas are sooooo good. My husband is such a picky eater but he loves this place and their salsa ranchera. The service is wonderful, I had never had such a nice waitress, all the waitresses were very nice and attentive. Definitely coming back here and being a regular :)

Got here at 10 pm on Friday and it says they close at 11 pm. Well, they were very rude as we walked in telling us they were closed. I told them their sign and website says 11pm. She was like "no we are closed". Your establishment needs to change your times on your sign that is taped to your door and also your website.

I had never been to this restaurant prior to changing employers to the southside of town. That being said its a great place for authentic Mexican food. The lunch crowd can get busy at times as its a favorite for alot of the local businesses around here but definitely worth a visit.

My husband and I come here a couple times a week, we looooove their top shelf margaritas, they are amazing! The staff is also amazing and we are always well taken care of and leave happy! Oh yeah, the food is pretty awesome too.

Arrived here straight from airport (1st time), as soon as I walked in everyone was amazing. Everyone that passed me said good morning and I was never empty on my drink. Food was good as well. Do recommend this place highly. :)
