I travel a lot for work (all over the US) and everywhere I go I try the Mediterranean or Greek food. This is the best I have had yet across the nation. Delicious food, great and friendly staff, perfect portions, and authentic taste. The owners are actually Greek and it shows in the cooking. I had the Roasted Lamb with Greek potatoes and Rosa green beans. Delicious. The only, and I mean ONLY consideration they could take is a bit more craft on the plating, and making it look neater. That being said the informal way it was served made it feel like I was eating dinner at the house of my Greek relatives that I dont have! If you are within 100 miles of this place you need to stop in.

Everything from the salads to the appetizers to the main course was over-the-top awesome! All I can say is if youre in the area and you want great Greek/American food and a family atmosphere eat here, eat here and just eat here!! They have a great selection of steaks and burgers on the menu as well as traditional greek fare. My son had the salmon cooked in a lemon butter sauce with capers- and it was amazing! My husband had the Athena combo with gyro meat and I had chicken and tortellini with homemade Alfredo sauce--( everything was fantastic!) Dont forget the desserts-tiramisu and chocolate cheesecake just to name a few! Delicious!

Growing up in a Greek community in Florida and eating a lot of Greek cuisine Im pretty picky about "greek" food and restaurants. Athena is the best authentic greek food Ive had outside my Yiayas kitchen, made by real Greeks who love cooking. If you like your food bland, dont go here! My favorite place to eat in Tyler.

Wrote place to order from. Love the food but the people are always messing up my order and then tell me I should check my food before I leave. Ill go to the new place in Palestine. People there are a lot nicer, better food, and always check to make sure your order is correct. Bye athena, you will not be missed!

Nice atmosphere. The background music was great but not to loud. You could easily carry on a conversation with out yelling. The Food was very good and the waitress was helpful with order selection. Going back to try the tilapia soon. Great place to carry your sweetie for a nice meal and conversation.

They have THE BEST Greek food around. My family and I go on a regular basis just to get our fix. All of the staff is so kind and welcoming. Weve gone over a dozen times and never have we had any issues. All their food is great and they have wonderful desserts. I would highly recommend eating here.

Tasty and authentic Greek food! We are out-of-towners who visit Tyler every rare once in awhile but every time we do, we make sure to visit Athena! The wait staff is always so friendly, the place is simple but clean and food is always made quickly! Definitely a place to check out :)

Absolutely love this place. The avgolemono soup is to die for and the service is always amazing! We got there before opening, not realizing the time, and they insisted we come in right away to get started. Would recommend to anyone looking to try something different!

The staff is friendly and feels genuine in their interactions. The atmosphere is really cosy. And the food is 10/10. Amazing flavors and textures. We tried a few different things and loved it all. The hummus ands tzatziki is just perfect.
