Casual cafe dinner in a modern strip mall. Good food with an inside that is small enough where the noise is not overwhelming for a discussion or business meeting. Service is a bit on the slow side and not attentive at all. I have stopped in a few times a month with the food and level of service being very consistent. Location is great with minimal traffic before the evening rush hour. Enjoy!

I dont know why this place isnt on any "Best Breakfasts in Houston" lists, its really good! The Mexican Omelette is spicy and delicious and the pancakes are fantastic. I really havent had anything bad, but I will say the waffle leaves some to be desired. This place is now my regular breakfast stop because of the great food and usually excellent waiting staff.

Food was great, but the service was really slow. Only had my cup of coffee refilled once in an hour and a half. That was on a sunday at 11. I have been during the week for lunch and service was great. The pricing is awesome. One of the few places that still understands that sometimes all you need is a nice cheap breakfast, and not some hipster fancy brunch.

Everyone at Avalon is exceptionally friendly except one sour waitress who gives poor service with her poor attitude. Change your website to reflect your actual hours or at least accommodate those who walk in thinking you are open an hour later--and keep the sour one from ruining your great reputation of good home cooked meals.

Ordered egg whites with "turkey breast". Got undercooked slimy egg whites and turkey deli meat. Gross. English muffin was good. Asked waiter for another meal got bacon omelette with cheese. Cheese was oil based and bacon were pieces of burnt bacon. No coming back. They did give me half a cantaloupe which was surprising.

Had the "Big Breakfast." Hash browns were dry, burnt, lacked seasoning and tasted like the flat top grill was overdue for a good scraping. The biscuits and the sausage patties were average. The Grits were undercooked. The only high point of my meal was the smoked sausage links.

They are super busy so its hit or miss. Food can be good but it can also be a little off. Waitresses rush too much but...they are friendly and smile. I think yhe kitchen needs help or just more management. Descent but could be better.

Ive been here half a dozen times, and gotten something different every time. Everything Ive gotten here is amazing. Low prices, large portions, and great quality. I highly recommend.

One of the few real diners left. Not 24hrs like old school diners but open early and fairly late. Good selection of homestyle comfort food for all 3 meals. Nice, professional staff.

Only thing worse than the food was the service. Chicken soup was uncooked. Egg salad was 90% onions with no egg in sight. Server disappear red and never knew I couldnt eat my meal.

Worst Eggs Benedict ever. soggy muffin, over poached eggs, gravy instead of hollandaise sauce, salty slab of ham instead canadian bacon, inedible hash browns. Very dissapointed.

What you would expect for typical diner fare, nothing out of the ordinary. It seemed like a lot of history in the name, nice environment, seemed to attract a heavily local crowd.

We love this place for breakfast and the location is convenient, but it is WAY overpriced. I have had to double check and ask for corrections on my tickets in thy pay as well...

Coffee is weak bodied. my food was subpar, a breakfast skillet and watery like warm grits. The wife said her pancake was good. Expensive for breakfast, lunch is cheaper??
