I have been here many times and keep coming back time and again. We love the Sunday buffet! Best porridge ever! Edit: This was actually written a week before we actually came back to Houston this past weekend and visited on Sunday (3-1-15) and really received horrible treatment and what felt like racism. The lady, who I assume is the owner is always super sweet and kind, but I guess a family member was running the show this Sunday and she was very rude to us simply for asking if there would be any more porridge put out on the buffet, because that is our favorite part and there was only enough for us each to have a small spoonful. She literally rolled her eyes at my friend. Last week we had asked the owner if she had Coco bread and she said no but she would save us some for when we came back last Sunday. When we asked about the Coco bread this new lady quickly said no then turned to an older gentleman (who is typically very talkative with us, this time said not a word, acted like he hadnt seen us before). She whispered something under her breath to him and then said OK we have a few pieces. My friend then asked for some beef patties to go and my friend just requested the frozen patties since we were travelling back to Austin with them anyhow and the lady rudely exclaimed "Well you havent got any choice!" When I left I felt almost heartbroken because all of us didnt feel welcome like we had before. Im still leaving my rating at 5 stars because the other lady is so nice to us and we still like the food, we just wish we could rely on there being enough porridge to go around at the Sunday brunch. I truly think they are nice people but the lady there running the show on Sunday (3-1-15) just isnt someone I can describe as pleasant to deal with. We brought in 7 people at $14 a pop plus tip they made over $100 on us, you would think she appreciates that, I know the owner does every time we come in and she tells us that and doesnt give us attitude or ugly looks.

We hired them for catering service to provided food for my 5-year wedding anniversary party on September 3, 2016. During the tasting we had jerk chicken, rice and peas, meat pies and shrimp curry w/ vegetables. We were under the impression that we would receive what was given to us in our initial tasting. Below is a list of problems. · The shrimp size in the shrimp curry we had at the tasting was not what we received in our order. The shrimp size was way smaller. · We order 1 ½ pans of jerk chicken. Instead of 1 whole pan that would contain more chicken, you sent 3 half pans, which of course was less chicken. · We didn’t receive the entire order upon initial delivery which was late. When called to inform you of this, you insisted that we had the order in, in which we did not. Thank you for finally getting the order to us. · We received one cup of bbq sauce to go with the 3 pans of chicken. This was not enough. We reached out to the diner to see if we could discuss our concerns, but we have not heard back. Usually I dont like writing reviews, but lately businesses practices is not what it used to be. It seems as if companies is more about the money than providing good services and customer services. Its so unfortunately.

First time trying Jamaican food and this restaurant did a very good job of introducing us to the cuisine. What I assume was the owner took the time to show us all of the food that they served and explained to us what it was and what it tasted like. I went with my girlfriend and we ended up having the (large portion) jerked chicken, curry chicken, beef, plantains, rice, stewed vegetables, and some of their Jamaican sodas and it was all very tasty! And the owner was nice enough to give us a free desert at the end of our meal. When Im back in Houston I will definitely visit this place again!

I had the Sunday buffet yesterday (I was there at noon right when it opened). I have never tried Jamaican food, and was very impressed. The food was all very good, the stewed chicken was particularly amazing. The Jerked Chicken was also fantastic. The Ginger Beer (non alcoholic) is a must-try. It really went perfect with the meal, and was very tasty. Great price, amazing food. Absolutely must go back.

This is the second time Ive been here. I wanted to give this place an honest second chance but I was also disappointed the second time. The oxtail did have much flavor to it & the beef patty made me sick. If you are looking for tasty jamaican food that has flavor & is tender this is not the place for you. Im Jamaican so I know what good Jamaican food taste like. Unfortunately I wont be back.

This was my first visit. I found the food to be very flavorful and the portions were generous. I want to try the oxtails put they were not able for another hour. I will return to try them. I did try the curry chicken and the brown chicken both were great along with the roti bread. Location is in a shopping center so look very carefully are you will miss it.

Great food! We were excited to try something else besides pizza, Mexican, and burger places. Jamaican food is amazing! The owners are very welcoming and the food was ready in under 15 minutes. Went on a Monday right at opening time and the place was nice and quiet.

Delicious Jamaican standard fare. Vegetarian and vegan options. The plentiful lunch buffet included tilapia, beef, and chicken. It was $8.99 for the weekday buffet. Service was amiable. I will definitely eat here again and recommend to friends.

Great jerk chicken, savory beef stew, flavorful beans and rice. Everything is made fresh. This is the place if you want authentic carribean cooking. Ive added it to my list of usual lunch locations now.

Love the lunch buffet. Management is extremely nice. Good is pretty good. Could definitely use more thyme and scotch bonnet peppers in their dishes.
