Our family went to visit this pancakehouse on sat. Oct 30,2010. We had noticed even though there was a list of names to bbe seated, they kind of picked and choosed who to seat. Not thinking of it, when our name was placed on the list a "CA" was placed beside it. We FINALY sat down, and noticed the long wait for certain folks including us. 20 mins into the resturant, a couple sat behind us making a small sceen about their ordeal. He proclaimed loudly about how the black host and black manager was seating black folks first and not the names in order to the list. When they approched the lady (from behind) about the problem she tried to cover up the "CA" by his name. The guy was mad after he put 2 and 2 together as to what the "CA" standed for - Caucasian!!!! These people had an agenda to sit black people before white. This guy is writing corporate and we witnessed it first hand. Shame on these guys! Racisim will never die - if you wont let it! Im telling everyone about this ordeal, and boycotting this place.

The food really was awful. My omelette looked like a yellow cheese pancake. I ordered the western omelette, the equivalent of a Denver omelette. It did not come with green bell peppers or onions. It only came with this pancake like substance with dried cheese on top and Ham. I took my two kids with me and we ordered them the strawberry cakes and they got regular silver dollar pancakes. The sourdough toast I ordered with my omelette was stale and over crunchy. My daughter said the place tasted very ugly. I kid you not, the Waffle House has a better quality for half the price sad to say. If the Waffle House on 114 and William D Tate wasnt closed, I would have gone there happily instead. The only reason they are getting two stars is because of their waitress Cristina. She was very attentive but the food was disgraceful. Double the price for worse food. Pay attention to this review and trust me, go somewhere else.

Ive been to the Grapevine store 4 times-3 were strike outs. Horrible service food so-so. The last and final time for me was about 2 months ago. I stood at the register for about 12 mins. while employees came and went to and around the register.I wanted to place an order! Was that too much to ask? My existence was never acknowledged . Finally I had to introduce myself to the "Manager".I told him what had happened and that my time was wasted and would need to leave. At this point I was still calm. He simply shrugged. Now, Im feeling the Blood start to boil. I told him that I would share my perspective of the place. He said ," do that". So now my BP is low and I have waited until I could post in a civilized manner. Never will I recommend or enter any Original Pancake House .

Me and my brother eat there and did not have a great experience. For a place called The Original Pancake House Their pancakes werent good at all and my eggs came out stone cold. After we go up to pay and the manager asked how everything was.We told him the truth and he was very rude.He told us in a snippy way that we should have let him know right away.We were in a rush and couldnt wait for them to cook us up a new meal.He acted like we were just trying to get a free meal.Which wasnt the case since we both paid full price. He needs to work on his customer service skills. He did give us a two free meals card. Are experience second time around was better. On a positive note the coffee there is really good and the servers are nice.Needs new management ASAP

Cross between a 50s diner and your grandparents house. Once you see it you will understand. The pancakes are thin and small (stack 2 quarters). Im assuming they make the batter once a week, probably on a Tuesday, that would explain why theyre so small on weekends. the gravy is crazy thin, like how old people like it, they want food to slide down their throat with minimal effort. the patty sausage is thin and sometimes burnt, sometimes not. The coffee is pretty good, the cream for coffee is the only thing I will say is above and beyond. They can cook eggs, pour water, well....thats about it Dennys, IHOP, etc. Are better. Ask a server at IHOP what day they make the pancake batter and ahow up then.....theyre actually phenomenal.

It was pretty good breakfast food. Nothing better than I have found at other places, except for the bacon. Ive never tasted it so good before. Also, one reviewer talks about them being "racist" because of the "CA" next to some names on the waiting list...uh...The Original Pancake House offers CALL AHEAD seating so you dont have to spend 30 minutes standing there. You can call ahead and reserve your spot in line....you know Call Ahead---CA.... Overall, the wait staff was very nice. The food was a notch above standard (not including the outstanding bacon). If I didnt have to wait long I would go here, but if the wait was too long, Id go somewhere else.

The pancakes are good, but a little smaller than IHOP. I got the Strawberry banana and pumpkin pancakes. They were good, but i ordered an additional three. I think i will order the omelet next time, which looks to be more filling. And they seems to have a good variety to choose from. While theyre know for breakfast, they seem to have lunch items also. Our waitress was good. But when i ordered a large glass of OJ, the glass seemed more like a small to me. Probably better since i dont need the extra sugar with a larger glass. And it was fresh squeezed. Check them out.

I love The Original Pancake House! It is, by far, one of my favorite breakfast places. However, this location is always disappointing. The food is never consistent. My favorite is the Dutch Baby. Ive had to send this back several times at this location. Today, it was good and our waitress was pretty good as well. The sausage, on the other hand, was so under cooked that my 2 year old had to spit it out and grab a drink of O.J. I tried it as well...it wasnt good. But Im giving 3 stars because I love the food, even though I have horrible experiences at this location.

Horrible food, horrible service and the place wasnt even clean (the wall next to us was splashed with... cream? whipped cream?? Who knows, but it had been there awhile; my sons cup had lipstick on it, and my cup had been glued back together)! My son ordered the blueberry pancakes which arrived a bizarre shade of GREEN. They brought me the wrong meal, took forever to correct it, and - after tasting the plastic-looking eggs - I wished they hadnt bothered. OPH in Montgomery, OH was a favorite for us, but this store was just awful.

I really am unsure about even giving them 3 stars but trying not to be too critical. It seems a breakfast restaurant would know how to cook eggs!! My dad ordered an omelet, it was super dry so he sent it back. Then to replace that eggs over medium. They were eggs over easy. We are not super picky and I do not mind eggs over easy but they werent even enjoyable. Food was not great but alright enough. I am only leaving this review so management knows maybe their cooks need more training or supervision!
