7/29/2017 People work with what they have. Get bigger bowls for the chips so the servers dont have to put their hands over the top of the chips to hold them in. I couldnt properly season the chips because they arent in the bowl, they are balancing on it. The chips are a real problem with me. The hot sauce wasnt great either and its usually great. It was just off in some way. A greeter should be at the front a lot more quickly but again, people work with what they have so I dont think they werent doing their job, they didnt seem lazy. I think the greeter is being asked to do other things besides greet. That greeter sets the tone for the rest of the service so you decide what is more important and carry on how you see fit. Everyone was friendly enough but the staff doesnt look happy. They look worried and stressed out. This reflects in the food and atmosphere. But who knows, maybe I was there on a strange night. Im no expert, just some guy who has been eating at El Chico so long hes never even thought to write a review for the place, good or bad, until now.

Smells like sewage, also the female manager working that night was too pre-occupied with her vanilla ice crack head boyfriend to ask how our experience was and we were a family of three and there were only 2 other customers in the bar area. My husbands food was uncooked and cool to the touch, the waitress... she was ok I guess, my order was wrong and she failed to know how to say queso and quesadilla. Again it smelled like sewage. Also, upon making it home I vomited a few tiimes. Maybe the salsa which tasted like weird soap. Stay away. Its gross. Hopefully the pantego el Chico doesnt suck so hard. There is my psa dont eat here, its pretty gross.

Do not get this to go!! This is the third in the last 6 months that I have gotten food to go and it is cold every time. Each time something has been left out whether it was a whole dinner or the $5 cup of queso. This time it was just putting beans in meals where it was requested that they be left out and then tilting the containers while putting them in the bags and pouring the beans all over the meal. We are half of a mile down the street from this location and will be driving 4 mile in the opposite direction to get our Mexican fix from now on!

Not somewhere to go when they are busy. Tried to eat there with family today for fathers day and the place was so short staffed that my mother-in-law took it upon herself to take the hostess position to try to even get people checked in to wait to be seated. I would also have preferred that they just be honest and admit they were so short staffed that they had an entire section closed and empty and were lying to customers about it being the ac being broken. Thats not good either but it was working when my father in law checked.

Food was tasty. I got the new menu item, gusto chicken enchiladas. The sauce was a little sweet but I liked it. One thing I dont like is the house complimentary queso. It tastes like canned soup. Spouse likes it though. El Chico is an old standard that is pretty consistent. They try to introduce new menu items that make them more unique than many franchised restaurants. I also like their avocado enchiladas as well as the old standby, cheese enchiladas. Prices are very reasonable and we will return again.

We had dinner there on Sunday night. It was THE WORST FOOD EVER. The guacamole had huge chunks of onion in it and no flavor at all. the burrito I had was greasy and the cheese they served to go on it was terrible. My husband had a chimichanga with fajita chicken that had no flavor. It was supposed to have cheese in it, but it didnt. They served him queso on the side that was watery and bland. Even my daughter thought the food was terrible. We wont be going back.

What great, fresh and delicious food! The drinks were spot on too! The guacamole made table side was devoured with their chips( that kept getting replenished without asking) Food portions were above average and we even mentioned a free appetizer promo with our room key and were able to pick which wed like without limitations. Friendly service from the moment you walk in the door. Awesome place!

Great flavors and great service. It is easy to see why this is still here after all these years. The menus and decor have all recently been updated and it has a nice fresh look. There are many traditional and tex mex items to choose from and i have yet to find something that i dont like. Also, be sure to ask about the classic car shows that are regularly hosted here.

Really good Tex-Mex food her. I highly recommend their top shelf guacamole! I had the three beef win chille con carne enchiladas plate. It came with red rice and re-fried beans, with a bit of cheese on them. It was great. I washed it down with a nice , er few glasses of sweet tea. Better to eat in there if you have the time and are stuck in crappy 820 traffic.

Had horrible service and did the online survey to let them know about it. Nobody seemed to care as I never received a call or email to attempt to make things right. I will never go back. Follow up: so today I received an email apology and was told theyd "take steps to improve customer service". I hope for they mean it for all future guests dining experience.

Service is really bad. Cant get drink oder right not bring all you order and have to ask and wait and wait and wait some more. Refill done peoples drink but not everyones. And cant bring the right refllls . Wont ever go back. Zero stars for this place. But it wont even let you go unless you give it a star .

The food guides rating this food must not have much experience with Mexican food, much less Tex-Mex. I cannot comprehend how anyone can describe the food as "delicious". The service is good enough, but the food truly is awful. If nursing homes served Mexican food this is how it would taste.

One of the better El Chicos in the DFW area. I think they pay attention to the quality of the food going out so it may take a little longer, but the wait is worth it. They lost one star because their high chairs are constantly dirty so I have to clean them thoroughly before my niece eats.

The worst Mexican cuisine Ive ever had.. .. i got the sampler plate, and everything tasted like it was right of the shelf from the frozen section at the local grocer... but the wait staff was very attentive.. neat was dry, and no seasoning on the food... my advice.... keep driving...

Where to get Mexican food on a Sunday? I tried El Chico but no one ever came up to seat me. Bartender saw me standing there, wait staff saw me standing there, bus boy saw me standing there but all went about their jobs. No one came to greet nor seat. I finally left.
