First time there was February 15 2014. Pretty awful. We made reservations for a party of 15. Upon arrival they could not accommodate us all. They put together three tables but it was clearly not enough. The staff tried to convince us it was plenty of room. Eventually we got another table. Our server was Nellie. Not sure of her experience level but she had no business waiting on a party that large. We arrived at 6:00, she finally took our orders at 6:40 and that was only after one of my co-workers whose blood sugar was getting low, walked over to find her to inform her he was going to the salad bar. It took that to get our orders taken. Food arrived at 7:15. Most of the steaks that were ordered were over-cooked but by that time no one wanted to say anything. Beers kept showing up at the table that no one ordered, but they made it onto the bill. I had the jalapeno rotisserie chicken; that was a huge disappointment. Nellie had no idea who ordered what when serving. When we asked for our check, she put about 7 people on one side all on the same tab and asked us to divide it out ourselves. We told her no, that she should do it. She then asked us to make change for those paying with cash from within the group instead of doing so at the register. The bills were completely jacked up. Two of us had to finally ask for our bill after everyone else had left so we didnt leave without paying. It was a very disappointing evening that was supposed to be pretty special for us. We are going to Cattlemans Steakhouse tomorrow night just to sort of make up for it.

Me and my Husband had to stay in a hotel for a week with repairs being done to our home.. We went to Cattle Barons and thoroughly enjoyed our order. My Husband had the steak, perfectly cooked and seasoned, I had the cajun pasta which was rich and delicious, and my daughter had the kids new york strip which was a great size for the price, perfectly cooked and also delicious... Aside from the food being amazing, our waitress was Marion and she was the best server we have had in a very long time. We had such a pleasant experience, we went back again the very next night. We requested the same server ...which although she had no open tables they sat us and she took care of us anyways, and immediatley brought us our drinks, without even having to ask what we wanted, bc she remembered from the previous night,.... It was very nice to have such sincerity, to follow another wonderful meal, the salad bar was wonderful, french onion soup was divine, and my HUsband had the prime rib which was also so tender and tasted wonderful. A couple months passed and my Mother and Aunt came to visit so I elected to take them there for Mothers Day... They had the filet special, me the Lobster tail and although the Lobster was a tad expensive for size it tasted really good, and my family highly enjoyed the service and food again from Marion. She is just wonderful, and so is the restuarant itself. We will happily go as often as we have the chance. Thank you Cattle Baron for such a great experience food AND service.

Pros: awesome salad bar! Waitress was Johnny-on-the-spot. Excellent service; quick too. Cons: round booth sitting is not convenient for families of five or larger. You are constantly getting up and moving and shuffling around. This would be different without an all-you-can-eat salad bar. The 16 oz. primerib was cooked to a perfect medium rare however, the cut was not the best. Immense fat deposits were everywhere. I know what you're saying right now, "primerib is supposed to be fatty". This goes beyond that. The normal "fat chunk" in a cut of prime rib is usually a quarter to half dollar size, mine was about the size of a ding dong snack cake. All in all, we will return and not order the prime rib.

After reading some reviews I was a bit wary about dining here. Im glad I went. Service was absolutely TOP NOTCH. Very attentive and sincere. Props to David at the bar and Ania my server. Had peppercorn NY Steak. Thought price for a quality NY Steak was very reasonable. Steak was delicious. The salad bar is almost overwhelming and includes two soups. EVERYTHING fresh and monitored by staff. Restaurant was PACKED so they must be doing something right. Wine list offered a SOLID J. Lohr Cabernet by the glass and had upscale bottles too. Great atmosphere. Sports in the bar and overall a well-deserved five star rating for food and staff!

I was served a gelatinous murky brown goo they passed off as gravy. It was horrible. Sent it back and the manager offered only a completely misplaced smile without any comment. Usually their salad bar saves the day but the brown rotten strawberries were a complete put-off after the inedible meal. Wow, unexpected poor meal. I sent an email on the spot to Cattle Baron’s website. That was 3 days ago with no reply. That tells me they don’t need my business, so they’ll have no more! We have plenty of great steak houses in El Paso. No reason to waste time and money at Cattle Baron’s

A very nice place to eat. My husband and i go for our anniversaries. The salad bar is very good, but they could keep it a little more clean. My steak is always great. I wanted to try the lobster tail, but it was crazy expensive. Both times i went, the service was great. The first time i went the chef even came out to make sure our food was perfect. THATS GOOD SERVICE! BUT, if you plan to eat here, make sure you tip well! They deserve it! If you dont have money to tip, dont go out to eat...anywhere. Im definitely going back!

No matter how good the salad bar is or how excellent the service, it will never make up for getting a sirloin steak instead of the ribeye I ordered. When youre limited on time, making sure your guests are comfortable and trying to have an overall good time, the last thing you want to do is make a scene and send a plate back and then wait another 30 minutes while everyone feels uncomfortable. Save yourself the hassle and go to Cattlemans. You

Me encanto la barra de ensaladas, pero mala suerte con el pollo rostizado, estaba seco, aunque lo cambiaron amablemente, pero siguio seco, y el steak estaba bien , pero no maravilloso, el servicio muy bueno.

Whenever I am in El Paso, I eat at the Cattle Baron. This is one of those places with an excellent kitchen preparing excellent steaks, and a salad bar that never seems to get stale. They are always bringing out new soups to try, and mixing up the selections with a variety of neat stuff like snow pea salad or something Ive never tried before. The service has been great. I recommend it to you if you like a good steak.
