This place is amazing! It is like the Big Top Candy Shop we always go to in Austin, though they have a smaller selection, it is all very affordable, they have a lot of the same stuff, and the ice cream is to die for! I had the Rocky Road (I think?) and Muddy Mess on a waffle cone. I said "Oh my god this is so good" about 5 times in the car and then made a whole bunch of yum sounds. I grew up in the great northwest where we had Baskin Robbins and amazing ice cream stores (in Idaho we had the Owyhee Scoup though they have unfortunately closed now). Those stores hold some of my fondest childhood memories and I was having trouble finding that here in Texas (I was not impressed by Braums, he told me this is the Texas equivalent). I told my husband I would come to love Texas if we could find that here, and we have! I would even argue that the chocolate flavors are better than Baskin! Have yet to try the fruity flavors. My husband who is also not a huge fan of sweets or really sweet icecream, also tried their lavender icecream and loved it, said it was just perfect for him! I also liked it, it is very mild but has enough flavor and sweetness to keep it interesting. I think it would be perfect paired with the honeycomb and I am going to try that next time. The staff are also very professional and nice. They have some new regulars. :)

Seriously. SO GOOD. And my husband made a recommendation for an ice cream topping they didnt have, which the owner actually took and implemented, which was pretty awesome. (The crushed cone sprinkles!) The flavors are all wonderful and unique, the service is excellent, and when you walk in it just smells like the most wonderful stuff on the planet.

A definite must visit. Weve been here a couple of time and each trip has been a real treat. The folks working here are the nicest people, dressed in retro soda fountain uniforms and so patient to help all the kids. It was just great service. As for the ice cream, every flavor we had in our group of six was amazing. Nobody was disappointed.

Seriously in love with their honey lavender ice cream flavor! Friendly and clean place to have the best ice cream ever! I had never had ice cream inside a donut before, but after trying it here Im definitely coming back for more!!! Their variety of flavors, toppings, and candies its amazing! Totally love the whole look of the place in general!

My family calls Hypnotic Emporium THE Ice cream place. Imaginative flavors and the usual classics. Homemade cones. And the ice cream sandwich made with donuts. Youll wanna try it with a buddy. It is tasty. They also do sodas and shakes and Sundays. Go. You wont be disappointed.

Had a great experience. My 11 yo daughter said "that man must really enjoy his job. I felt like I should order more because of how he treated us." Super delicious malts and cones, did not try the ice cream doughnut. Will go again next time we visit Dallas.

The Bees Knees is a must try flavor if you like lavender. The ice cream is not too sweet, and the mix of lavender and honey is so well balanced. Words cannot describe how delicious Bees Knees. Try the blueberry cheesecake flavor too.

Great service and concept but the ice cream just isnt consistent enough. The dreAm (yeast donut stuffed with ice cream of choice) was great for my flavor (salted caramel) but other flavors tasted freezer burnt. Like a lot of them

The DREAM was amazing and surprisingly it was inexpensive! They have other items here than just ice-cream and donuts. Old school candies and candy they sell by weight. Pretty cool little place. The staff is really nice too.

Love their funky ice cream flavors. My favorite is the Bees Knees, which is a lavendar-honey flavor. I always get mine topped with fruity pebbles. Employees are all friendly and patient with my flavor-sampling.
