This post was originally 5 stars. I started coming to this location almost every month when it opens over a year ago. In November they had a change of Management and staff. When attending last night a had a group of over 25 people, to account for this I booked the party room as a waiting area before being say down at habatchi. A week before we show they tell use they are taking away the room and we will just have to stand in the waiting room. (There is not enough room for this.) And offers no compensation. Then they call again accusing my reservation of being false. (We regularly had anywhere between 25-50 people in the past.) Once at the location they did not know how to handle us or where to put us I had to point to the patio and move them there only after a discussion of if the unused Patriot was allowed to hold my group. Once seated more then 45 min after our reservation... this was my groups new experience the waiters could not take our order in a timely fashion alot of us orderd water and a few sodas... The people with soda were never given them. The alcoholic drinks had no alcohol and were more like juice. And I WAS BERATED BY THE MANAGER.... REPEATEDLY this same manager when a chef messed up and order and had to have food re bring out... In a sarcastic tone asked one of my guests "are you happy now" The show. The whole reason we come to habatchi is the atmosphere we liked the shows the laughs and we know that if we tip the chef he goes out of his way to make the show more enjoyable, they also make money that way, thats kinda important apon trying to break a $20 to tip the chef I was told not to they get it out of the servers tip.... Not only is that not fair to the chef this is not fair to the waiters. I also dont believe the food was fresh and alot of it is watered down or of poorer quality, as I right this several of my guests have been sick all night. Myself included. This was bad. Lastly the billing. The waiters did not get any of us out in a timely manner I had to take the mapping tickert from him show who was on each tab and where they were seated. This still took over and hour and we ended up sending group to the till because no one seamed to care. There changes in the staff and food, the fact my guests are sick and offended. Hanami has lost this account... This was ridiculous.

Interesting lunch experience. The food was aesthetically pleasing, but its flavor tended to be "good not great". The edamame was extremely basic and I dont think it was even salted. We asked our server what the best rolls were, and he said the Anaconda and the Georgia Peach. I ordered both of them. While the Anaconda sounded on the menu like it would be incredible, it ended up being surprisingly plain. The flavor was very mild and distance, and it was unexpectedly crunchy. Perhaps those two things were both because due to excessive cucumber breaking the texture/flavor balance with the fish. While the Anaconda roll was disappointing (given my high expectations), I was blown away by the Georgia Peach. It was spicy even without the jalapeno on top -- when I took my first bite, I lost the jalapeño slice to the floor, sadly. I think most of the heat actually came from the peppered Tuna on top, which was absolutely beautifully done with only a millimeter or two of sear underneath the pepper along the outside. The Georgia Peach roll had lots of different flavors, and they all came together beautifully. The service was not acceptable to me. The place was almost empty, but my empty water sat in the open at the edge of the table for over 5 minutes before I got up and retrieved the pitcher from a stand next to the kitchen entrance to pour my own. When both of your rolls have jalapeño, water can be a nice thing. Our server was casually chatting with someone up by the bar (including during the wait leading up to this) and never even turned in all that time to look at us. The two women who join me for lunch were even calling out to him and waving but he never looked up so I just helped myself. Id summarize this as a high-3-star food rating, down to 2 for the service, and back up to 3 for the beautiful appearance of the rolls.

I have been going to Hanami since around November of 2015 and absolutely loved it. The food was always phenomenal, the drinks always looked amazing, and the staff and service were always great. In January I began working at Hanami as a hostess and eventually became a server and the management and staff were all great and like a big family. I left Hanami to go to another job, and I am glad I did.. A friend and I went a few weeks ago to eat there and there was all new staff and chefs, pretty much the entire team I worked with was gone due to new management. Rendi and Diky (the hibachi chefs) still work there and are still amazing. The service was so slow it took us 5 minutes to have a server come to our table and there were so many staff members just standing around. The food was alright and we didnt get the correct rolls, presentation is still pretty. Under the new management Hanami just isnt what it used to be. Hanami used to be THE place to go and now I just pass by it and get disappointed.

Good service but the food was just OK, on the basis of the sushi. Note Im grading pretty hard here as I eat a lot of good traditional style sushi. None of the chefs appeared to speak Japanese, since I ordered an "omakase" from the menu and they didnt know what it is. I was a bit nervous after that. The fish selection was 12 large but clumsily cut pieces of sashimi but only 5 varieties, and it was all the most common fish (tuna, salmon, albacore, yellowtail, escolar). Not amazing quality but not terrible either, and not a bad deal in terms of quantity of sashimi for the price. But also not what I would expect for a dish that usually implies that the chef will pick the best fish of the day for you as this was clearly a set menu. Miso soup was actually maybe the best food, quite good. The spicy tuna hand roll was ok, although the nori was soggy by the time it got to me. Oh, and I could have done without the flashing colored lights on the sashimi dish...

The food I would rate 4 stars but the service was so awful I will never come here again. Our waiter was so distracted. Walked away from us in mid order of our drinks. In which we never got because it took him an hour to notice and did not come to our table once. Another table of 6 left without ordering anything right next to us. We then went to the bar to try to order them and that didnt work out either. Halfway into our dinner he asked rudely if we wanted our drinks. We declined and went next door and got our drinks within 5 minutes. We ordered about 10 drinks that did not go their business. Thats about 100$ . the manager their should be embarrassed to have such an amateur staff and such a high class sushi bar .
