We were excited to see from their website that they used food sources from humanely-pasture-raised happy cows. Surprised to know that grass-fed beef has more Omega 3 than fish. I love onion rings so I was anxious to try. I read that the cheese-steaks were the best in town. So I decided on that. My daughter got the American-cheese burger. We had a slight wait but food is made to order so we didnt mind. Tables are few with folding chairs but if the food is good, well overlook that. Table had crumbs but I always carry disinfectant wipes. Staff was nice and hospitable. Bathrooms were clean. The place was temperature warm. It was Sat 4pm Aug so its hot outside and warm inside. Not comfortable but we tolerated. Food arrived. The cheese steak was molten hot. Lots of cheese melted into the meat. It was the best Ive had in Austin but that doesnt say much. Onion rings were plentiful. The crust was a little too flour/eggy with lots of pepper for my taste. Was hoping for a more delicate butter-milk/flour crust as the pictures seems to indicate. But they were good and hot. The bite of my daughters burger tasted yummy. She loved the slightly sweet grill-toasted bun. The meat was delicious but a tiny bit dry so I wondered if the young staff mashed the meat with their flat spatulas. Or it could be the meat has little fat. Healthy but the flavor is in the fat. Sorry health-fanatic Austinites. Will we go again? Probably. I always want to support restaurants that use humanely-raised food sources.

I just started a new job down south and was looking for a good lunch burger place so I decided to check this place out. I walked in and saw that it was half convenience store and half burger joint. Kind of different but it was nice to be able to get a drink from the store side to go with my meal. Unfortunately, when I picked out a sealed soda in a bottle...it was flat. How does that happen?? They let me pick a new one which was fine and I sat down to wait for my burger. The wait took forever and then I noticed that a group that ordered after me got there food...WTF? I asked the guy at the counter and he went and checked. My burger was sitting over there getting cold and he rushed back there to put some fries into a basket and bag my order. I now had to take it to go because it had taken so long, I was going to be late to work. They were apologetic, rightfully, but they seemed very disorganized. Maybe that was because all the employees back there cooking/running the counter were young teenagers. To top it off, when I finally got back and had to eat lunch at my desk, the burger was missing the grilled jalapenos and mushrooms THAT I PAID EXTRA FOR. The fries seemed like they would have been good if they werent cold and soggy, which mine were. Maybe this was just a one time incident, but Im surprised that they operate this way in such a highly competitive lunch area. I have to say I was pretty disappointed with this place and will not go back!

I just got my puppy back from getting spayed, and didnt want to leave her, so I ordered a burger, fries, and a drink from Wholly Burger on UberEats. Read: The only delivery company that will deliver south of Slaughter. Delivery guy gets here and doesnt have the drink. Doesnt apologize and tells me "You can tell uber and theyll give you a credit on your account" ......I dont want a credit, I want you to check my order before Im just outta luck. Ugh. So I sit down to eat and there are two orders of fries...which makes me pause, and then there are two burgers. One is covered in mushrooms and jalapenos and the other is completely plain and neither of them are on the Hawaiian bun. So I call uber to straighten this out, they tell me Ill have to reorder and theyll reimburse me. Forget that. I asked for a full refund. Heres the thing. I called Wholly Cow to tell them that Uber messed up my order and consequently someone elses order as well. We commiserate for a minute about the business models for these delivery businesses and then he, the owner, insists I give him my address so he can remake my order and bring it to me himself. Seriously. Thats some above and beyond customer service and it wasnt even their fault. I well definitely be giving them more business. The burgers are some of the best in town so that wont be hard.

Seriously tasty burgers. We went there because my husband wanted a burger and onion rings. He also, unfortunately, wanted to eat at home so there was a 25 minute delay before we ate. The delay didnt do the onion rings any favors, not surprisingly. But the burgers, even lukewarm, were really good. OMG do I love a burger served on Hawaiian sweet bread buns! This is now my favorite burger in Austin with Mighty Fine in second place now. I wont comment on the onion rings since no fried food, except maybe chicken, is good once it cools down and thats not the restaurants fault. I look forward to trying them when theyre hot and fresh. Good, fast, friendly service. Tidy, clean, if basic chairs and tables. I wasnt expecting what looks like a fast food counter inside a convenience store, but dont be put off by this. Its good stuff. Also very reasonable prices for grass fed beef.

Wholly cow, that was a good burger! Ok, I apologize...but I couldnt help myself. That pun was asking for it! I can deal with dingy, as long as the food is delicious...and that is was! Walking up, Ill admit it, I was totally sketched out. Walking in, I was still totally sketched out. First bite into the burger, and then entire experience was legitimized. Love this burger! Grass-fed is of course a plus. People watching was divine. I think there was a dead bug on the floor...but because it wasnt in the burger, I somehow wasnt totally grossed out. I think we knew what we signed up for when stopping by Wholly Cow. As for the fries? Meh. Thats what I rate them. They werent awful. And yes, we finished them all. But I wouldnt go back there when searching for fries. I would go back for a burger.

This restaurant was suggested by my family as a great place to grab a burger. Upon locating this restaurant it is inside a shopping center, and is a little hard to spot just passing by. The restaurant has a very open atmosphere, and the service is to die for. You build your burger with how many patties you want (one patty is half a cow, and two patties are a whole cow). You then add a fresh home - made bun, and all the fixins you can come up with. You watch the crew come alive to create your order, and then you have the liberty of saying "Wholly Cow! Is this what I ordered?" because the burger is so big and juicy. The burger was eXcElLeNt, and to top it off, the staff grabbed my empty basket and cleaned off my table. Wow. Many "Moos" to this location. Highly recommend.

Ordered a single on Texas Toast through uber and got this mess. Fries were soggy but thats expects due to delivery time. The burger however looks thrown together, greasy and Im sorry but this isnt Texas Toast, that would require the bread to be actually toasted. Its just plain wheat bread which is an available option but not what I ordered. I saw another reviewer have the same issue with wheat bread being passed off as Texas Toast. When you pay $8.49 for a burger I expect the quality to be better than the dollar menu at Wendys or McDs for that matter. Stay away unless youre actually dinning in, at least then you could take your food back and have them fix it. ...Texas toast... TOAST where is the toasted bread!?!?!?!
