My review of most burger places is based on a similar order; cheese burger with fries and a chocolate shake. Five guys is... eh... First, the good parts... The burgers are made fresh and you can tell. When you get your two patty burger is it wrapped in foil and supper hot. The cheese is melted and gooey - perfection. The burger is big and filling. The fries are made fresh also. They are piping hot and firm when you break into them. They are served in ridiculous proportions. A single order of fries will easily feed two. The shake was good too. Good shake... with chocolate... Good. The eh... They put the burger on the bun right off the grill. By the time it gets to your mouth the grease has soaked into the bun and created a doughy mess of a taste. It tastes a little like Crisco on a bun. The burger was overall too greasy. The seasoning on the fries was dull. You can get them plain salted or Cajun, but both are underwhelming. The shake was a little too warm when I got it. This sounds like a small gripe, but with hot fries you want a cold shake; period. The biggest eh is the cost. The simple order above is eighteen bucks! Almost twenty bucks for one person. Too much for the experiance I had. Go to Whataburger or Mighty Fine instead

Love the burgers. Theyre fresh, hot, cooked to order and seasoned well. Im sure if you ask them to add more pepper and salt while cooking, theyd do it. Thats what makes a good patty, fresh quality meat, salt and pepper before hitting the grill, good ratio of fat to meat, and not smashing it with those giant spatulas. The fries are delicious. Hot and fresh. They give you plenty. When they first opened, the fries were amazing. We went back and the fries were not as hot. I think a batch had just been cooked so we were given those. I prefer the fries fresh out of the cooking vat. Austin restaurants seem to be great when they first open, then quality goes down. Hope that doesnt happen here.

I was first introduced to Five Guys when I lived in Washington, DC, the home of the original locations. I love it when I was there, and was really happy to see that locations had opened up in Dallas when I moved back a couple of years ago. The locations in Dallas arent as good as the ones in DC, but they are far and away better than this location. The food is cheaply made, is not fresh, and is really not worth the $6+ youll spend on it. The toppings are okay, and the drink selection is passable, but it all still leaves you wanting more. I will not spend another dime on this place. The service was good, which is always appreciated. Overrated for the price.

My non-veggie husband and I went there today thinking surely this place would have a veggie burger option. Wrong! The person at the counter was very rude when I asked about a veggie option and said, "Come on, this is Austin, TX." To which she said, " This is a burger place." Like there were no options for vegetarians in the burger world. Their veggie choices were a "brat" type hot dog and a cheese sandwich. I would have stayed for the cheese sandwich if she hadnt been rude to us. Will not go back until they learn of and use something like a Boca Burger. How hard can that be? I know it is Texas, but it is AUSTIN, TX!

Five Guys Burgers continues to occupy that small space between traditional fast food burgers and more upscale locations like Hopdoddy. Their burgers are quick and simple but of above-average quality and their Cajun-style fries are super addicting. So if youre looking for something a little more than P. Terrys or Whataburger, Five Guys is always a solid choice. P.S. The regular hamburger comes with double patties. If you only want one patty youll need to get the "little" option and feel judged by the cashier. An order of fries is usually sufficient to split between two people.

Five guys consistently provides a good burger with lots of flavor, and bun worthy enough of keeping all its contents in place. Although I dont like most of the toppings being a picky eater, I appreciate the amount of toppings a person can put on a burger. Fries are delicious with their seasoning and given in generous amounts, you may want to split a regular one with someone else. Service is always straightforward and nice at this location on the drag by campus.

Why anyone raves about this place I have no clue. There is nothing particularly wrong about 5 guys, but there is absolutely nothing special about it. The hamburger meat is pretty bland, but fortunately you can add any amount of toppings to hide this. The fries are unpeeled and thick cut, which I do like. They make a good average burger but the price is just out of an average price.

I never understood the appeal of Five Guys. Its way over priced and super greasy. I have been to five guysfour times now and i have never had an experience worth what i paid. Why go to five guys when you could go to Whataburger for half the price and twice the enjoyment? But I guess you have to pay for those complementary peanuts some how. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Almost always a great burger from Five Guys. The melted cheese on their burgers is immaculate when its done right, which is usually. Their fries are good, if you like thicker fries, closer to a potato wedge than a skinny, crispy fry. The cajun fries are great too, if you like a little more flavor. All toppings are free, but this is because the burgers themselves are overpriced.

I have eaten at a lot of Five Guys in thru-out the southeast and in other areas, Five Guys is the best burger you can get. But there are better burgers in Austin than this Five Guys. Do not get me wrong, it wasnt a bad burger, just not the best. The burger did not have much flavor and was over powered by the dresings. The cajun fries were spicey, and the spice mix was to salty.

Having lived in Virginia for a number of years, I tend to think of Five Guys as a local chain no matter where I encounter it and every franchise always delivers the same award winning quality as the home stores. If I can give one word of advice: if youre eating with friends, designate only one person to get fries and share ... youll thank me.

Delicious made to order burgers with any many toppings as you want for no extra charge. I prefer the little burger because the regular burger is two patties, which is too big. The Cajun seasoned fries are over-seasoned for my taste. Order the small fries unless you want a massive amount of fries. The Regular size is too big for one person.

Thoroughly average burger, not sure what the hoopla is all about. Two standout features of this joint. 1. Fresh (not pickled) jalapenos available as a topping. Love this. 2. Way way way way too many fries are given. Im not a huge fan of their fries, but they are good enough. And theres more than you can eat. So thats something.
