Two years ago my husband and I made reservations for Valentines day at Cru Food & Wine Bar. At the time I made the reservation no one mentioned theyd have a limited menu. I was therefore quite annoyed when we found out. While many things on the menu sounded good, I can be rather picky about veggies and each main course had something I wasnt keen on. I started with the wine flight and the waitress gave it to me backward so the wine got progressively sour instead of sweet. Eventually I settled on the sea bass and the chef switched the featured vegetable for their heicot vert. I love sea bass! The minute I took a bite of that hericot vert, I forgave them everything else. It was so incredibly delicious that I finished it before my sea bass which is unprecedented for me! The sea bass was beautifully prepared, as well. Since that time weve been back on many occasions and weve taken family when they are in town. Their meat and cheese boards are wonderful but I encourage you to trying their goat cheese beignets with lavender honey. They are a mouth full of bliss! Absolutely divine. If youre going for Valentines Day be sure to find out if they have a limited menu. Especially if your partner tends to be a bit picky, too.

Great wine bar with a wonderful atmosphere, a diverse array of wine flights and great happy hour prices on small plates. Ive been here multiple times and every time the manager always stops by my table to see how everything is and if theres anything he can do. The staff is wonderful and extremely knowledgeable about their selections. I highly suggest going on Thursdays since bottles of champagne are half off then! Its a great place to catch up with a group of friends or go for a delightful dinner with a special person in your life.

My fave wine bar in North Austin- Awesome Wine Flights. Their truffle cheese pizza is to die for! Actually just went back last night and told the owner I had to go to a show and only had 45 minutes. He said- restaurant week menu is out then- Fired my food right away- checked back with me to see if it was okay to bring my check early so I could make sure I was on time and suggest a great wine based off of my "wine personality"- THAT my friends is how it should always go. Best service EVER. Extra tip extremely well deserved.

Admittedly, Im biased. My brother is the Executive Chef. That said, hes my younger brother and Ive never had any problem finding excuses to rip on him. The truth is, the food at Cru is generally delicious, with my favs being the chicken picatta and seafood misto. The service has been excellent 9 times out of 10 and the only downside is that its a little pricey, especially if you order wine. The selection is vast though and the staff knowledgable, so I always leave happy even when trying something new.

This place is enjoyable spot for the Domain, it is tucked away between the Starbucks and Blackfinn. There are great selections of Wine. If you are indecisive that day, the Wine Flights are amazing and highly suggested. The pizzas are delicious especially since they all have a twist on the regular pizzas you see every day. The service is outstanding. A little pricey though if you are comparing to other places in the Domain.

Cozy vino atmosphere. Small intimate tables and a small bar. Tables outside as well. The perfect place for lunch for wine lovers. So many different types of wine and cheese plates. The food is fancy American in my foodie oppion. Portions are small so I recommend ordering an appetizer. The tomato basil soup and grilled cheese is one of the best Ive had!

I have been to CRU at the Domain about 5 times and the one downtown once. The flights that the folks there select are tasty and always changing. They pick cute names such as Get Screwed" for the white flight that comes in screw on bottles. (that was a great flight ) The main thing ,though, is that the FOOD is out of this world and so is the service!!

This is a great place for a simple happy hour or a nice date. The plates are a bit small but still shareable. The wine is the main reason to go to Cru. I say order a tasting so you can try a small variety. If you arent sure what to try, the staff is always helpful and knowledgeable.

The manager was excellent and very knowledgable. He talked to us for what seemed like hours and seemed genuinely excited to educate us on every aspect of the wines we tasted. Menu looked good for small bites. We shared a wine flight and the portions were generous.

The north branch. A somewhat compact space with curvy windows and a patio set to pretend its on a European street (but, in the domain). Its All wine. Just fyi. Lots and lots of flights to fancy, glasses to gulp and bottles to buy. Also, the cheese plate.

Staff isnt too friendly, but the location is great. I attempted to arrange a party here and was given the run around. The flights are great, but overpriced. The cheese trays are also expensive, but I dont regret splurging on it.

Expensive, but a lot of fun. Its around $16 for a wine flight. The food is delicious but its small samples and very overpriced. Its easy to sit and chat there for hours. Ive been there twice and Ill probably go back soon.

Lovely wine bar. Wonderful to get a cocktail with a friend. Great apps, excellent desserts. Take advantage of the knowledge of the friendly staff and let them help you order. You wont be disappointed.

Not a huge fan. Its always empty and although its not a bad place to try if you are on second street, theres better options. If youre in a rush the fact that is always empty might be attractive.

My favorite place to relax at the domain. They have a great wine selection and they are always adding new wines to try. Penfolds shiraz and molten chocolate cake cant be beat for dessert!

Great little place to enjoy wine and food with friends. Happy hour is from 4pm to 6:30 PM Monday thru Friday on select wines and appertizers so you really cant go wrong with that.

Its a lovely place with generous wine pours. I didnt try the food but I liked the wine. Its not a broad selection, its very specific and curated, but what they do have is good.

The food is alright but the wine selection is good. The service is good and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The best thing here is the ambience of the domain.

Cru has a comprehensive wine list and although isnt cheap also has a good happy hour. The food Ive had here has always been great for lunch.
