Make no mistake, Brick Oven is Americanized Italian food. Now, sometimes you want something authentic, and authentic Italian food is one of the most amazing things in the world- but sometimes you just want copious amounts of cheese, carbs, tomatoes, and garlic, arranged in various configurations, washed down with some red wine. When youre in that mood, Brick Oven fits the bill perfectly. Everything here is done well, with fresh ingredients, generous portions, and recipes that dont mess with the classics. As befitting the restaurants name, the brick oven pizza is one of the restaurants standouts- theres just no other way to replicate that wood-fired brick oven crust, and it truly does take a pizza from good to great. Its got that wonderful interplay between crispiness and chewiness, and a fantastic, sourdough-like flavor. No complaints about the other pizza components, either; toppings and sauce are fresh, flavorful, and in the right proportions. The wine list puts an emphasis on good value wines, with lots of bottle options under $14, and the service is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. This place does everything you like about Italian-American dining right.

My Mister, LDH, and I were on a road trip in Austin and decided to stop by Brick Oven. The crowd was mainly elders but maybe because this was during brunch on a sunday. The food was superb! Waitress was very hospitable and knowledgeable of menu. She gave us our communication space as well as watching from afar and knowing the right moment to interrupt for refills. She was superb!!! The calzone was double the size of my misters hand and he loved every bite! Photos to be shown shortly. My lasagna was only two helps, small but very seasoned and delicious! I will be back! Recently I picked up a pizza from here with alfredo sauce, feta cheese, and fresh tomatoes. Now, when I order that particular combo, most places know that the alfredo goes under the cheese. Here, however, the sauce was on top of everything else. Some of the sauce spilled over the edge of the crust onto the cardboard underneath. Everything was fine, except the placement of the sauce. This wasnt a big deal to me since everything tasted great anyway, and I give four stars because Ive enjoyed picking up salads and pastas from Brick Oven in the past. Hopefully this time was just a mistake.

My wife and I stopped in for a bite before a concert at a church across the freeway. When the waitress asked us what we wanted to drink we told her we noticed what a great deal they had on bottles of wine but we only had 30 minutes. She said no problem we could cork it and take what was left. So my wife and I ordered a pizza each and a bottle of very acceptable wine ($17). The waitress was excellent. She brought the wine and our salad right away and soon after our pizza. I would have never believed it but we made it on time thanks to our waitress. I wish I could remember her name.

It took me a long time to try this place, just because its in an assuming corner of a strip mall next to HEB. Before you go, check their twitter for deals of the day- My current fav is a half-priced large Southwest Chicken pizza ($10 for a large pizza!). And it is actually very good pizza- Really fresh ingredients and not overly greasy. Ive only ever gotten take-out, but the decor inside is actually pretty cute. It smells amazing inside, and there are little painted vignettes of Italians scenery throughout the restaurant. Nothing but positive experiences for me!

Weve started going here Monday nights because of the special - get one large, get a medium free - the european pizza is more than just a cheese pizza - they use a different sauce and add a little romano to the top. Dipping the crust into the parmesan peppercorn salad dressing is the recommended way to finish it all. The service has dipped a little of late compared to a year ago - maybe its a lot of new people that they are training. But everything is made right if they get a topping wrong here or there. Definitely good thin crust flavorful za

Great food, somewhat dark atmosphere (hard to see your food), but usually no waiting to be seated. Menu selection is good, and pizza/pasta are good. The one glaring problem is that the food here is WAY overpriced. $12 for spaghetti and no salad? $15 for a Stromboli? Sorry, for that money I can eat at Olive Garden, which includes salad and bread. If you dont care about the expense, its a nice place. However, Ill probably go elsewhere next time.

We came here because my boss had recommended. He had also given me a gift card. The food was good and our server was an amazing guy. BUT the manager was a total jerk. He was walking around asking everyone if everything was okay. NOT once did he asked us. Maybe because of our race, I dont know. I dont know but I felt unwanted there by him. He would say good bye to everyone except us. He probably thought I wasnt paying attention but I was.

Originally ordered the medium Cooks Spicy pizza but, Nancy, the awesome waitress tipped me that the large was a $10 special, making it cheaper than the medium. I thanked her and went with her suggestion. Thankfully, the quality was as I remembered: excellent! And Nancy was equally fantastic, checking in, quickly refilling beverages, always providing service with a smile.

It is an okay place to get your pizza fix. The service is good, the pace is a little slow. Ordered a pizza and pasta got the pizza first and the pasta came a good 5-10 minutes later. There are a lot of options for everyone here. The parking lot is large but a little tight at times. The price is good as well. Its a good fix for pizza in the area, but not my favorite.

We visted this location on saturday evening. Everything from the service to the food was outstanding! We have been in Austin for 13 years and have never been before! It is definitely added to our top 3. We will be back! Our service was the best we had in about 8 years! I would suggest you checking this place out. We are sad we didnt find it before now!

The weekly specials are invariably worth checking out. I particularly like the spicy ones. Beers are served ice cold. I have always found the staff pleasant and chatty. The outdoor seating is nice when Texas weather designs to be cooperative. I always have a positive experience when I visit.

They have the best Cheese less pizza. Order the Cooks Spicy special with no cheese and you will not be disappointed. Even cheesy people say its taste better without the cheese. "You can taste all the flavors"

Although its been a few years since Ive been there, I was never disappointed. Liked their specials and their pepperoni pizza always a favorite! Pepperoni seems to have kick to taste that no other pizza biz has.

Been in Austin 10 years now, and Brick Oven was my first Italian place I visited. And it is the only Italian place I will eat at. B/O is my place to eat 2-3x a week. Absolutely love this place!

Ive been here a couple times, and this place just doesnt cut it when there are better Italian restaurants within the same price range. The food tends to be a bit bland for my taste.
