Horrible Experience. Went here with my family party of 27....we called ahead to reserve a table and they told us they did not make over the phone reservations just come in and we should only have to wait 30 to 45 mins. When we arrived at 6:30 we reserved a table for our party and they said the wait was 45 mins to an hour. We waited!! As we waited a party of 14 left and a party of 12 was seated. The manager on duty Joe Rivera came to us and stated our wait would be about 10 to 15 more mins....he didnt mention on top of the additional HOUR they told us from the beginning and minus the HOUR that we had already waited NOR did he offer us the EMPTY patio area that was available NOR the open 28 seats available in the upstairs area. Mr. Riveras excuse was there wasnt a waiter to help us BUT there we 7 employees standing around doing NOTHING . Mr. Rivera stated that the available employees were inexperienced and could not assist a party so big so we needed to wait until a party of 8 left...What a disappointment for the simple fact it seems only because our party was African American! This is one of my favorite mexican restaurants and I have spent numerous of family occasions here to be treated with such lackluster management. We took our large party to On the Border where we were seated immediately when we walked in AFTER we called 5 mins before. Thank you Mr.Rivera for such a great experience (sarcasm).

The food was pricy and service wasnt very good. I would only go back if coworkers drag me there again. I am a native of south Texas and was insulted by the side eye and dismissive attitude I got from much of the staff, esp when asking where the rest of my party was. Two girls gabbing at the hostess desk refused to show me to my party even when I asked for better detections than "by the bar" and mentioned I had never been there before! The food was bland, the salsa wasnt spicy enough, the sopapillas were disappointing and over sugared. The fajitas griddle was smoking and popping for a good 6 minutes after it was set down, and I had to scramble to make sure it wasnt set by my 3 year old! Even my manager was appalled by it.

Rediscovered this excellent mexican food after years... Used to go here all the time, and with all the recent build up of retail shops in the area - we just put it on the back burner for a while. THANKFULLY we tried it again and it was BETTER than we remembered it to be (WHICH WAS VERY GOOD BEFORE SO ITS BETTER NOW). The food was terrific and came to the table fast. The looks are the same - so a facelift inside would really benefit the overall appeal - but its CLEAN - Just a little dated thats all. Bottom line is the food is excellent. If this is on your radar - CHECK IT OUT! Youll like it.

Mercado Juarez is my go-to place for that cornerstone Tex-Mex fare of cheese enchiladas with chili con carne, rice and beans. It is my comfort food. Even though Ive been careful with what I eat lately, and have lost 34 pounds doing so, I am not so rigid in my diet that I do not return when the urge strikes. After all, both life and food should be enjoyed. From the second the warm chips and salsa are placed on the table, Im in my happy place. This is also where my youngest grandson fell in love with salsa. At two, he would drink from the salsa bowl. The kid has good taste.

The food is pretty good, but the customer service is trash! The server acted like he didnt want to serve us and gave bare minimum answers to every question I had. I hate when I feel like I get less service because Im black and they feel like they wont get a tip or something. I cant account for every server, but the one I had was horrible, and i still left a tip out of common courtesy. Other than that, the food was good. I had chicken fajitas. The meat was well seasoned and juicy. The fresh tortillas are great as well.

The food here is always hot and fresh, with lots of options and combo plates to choose from. Various Margaritas and other drinks are available from the bar, and are very good as well. My one nitpick, is that my personal favorite, Fajitas, seems to have been cut back a bit on the serving size. The sizzling meat platter used to be served on the oblong/oval shaped platters and its now served on a smaller round platter. But overall quality is still very good.

This is my first review ever, Thats how great this place is! Me and My boyfriend go almost every week, we say were going to try new foods but we cant seem to stay away from this restaurant! Lol Anyway, the food is amazing especially the tortilla soup and the green enchiladas! The waiters are absolutely delightful, the best servers weve ever experienced! This place deserves way over 5 stars!

Horrible! Never consistent, this place sucks and give better service to the Hispanics. Never going again. I have given this place more than 10 chances. I loved the queso until today...it was burnt!.. I have taken groups and groups and groups of folks here for various occasions and none stated they would go back and didnt know why I kept going back. I Will Never Ever Go BACK!!!!

Ive been coming for more than ten years, my experiences have been mostly great. The atmosphere is good, but a little loud at times, which can make conversations tough. The salsa is excellent, and so are most menu items I have tried. The service can be hit or miss, depending on time of day. This is a very popular restaurant in the area, so they typically have a wait to be seated.

I tried Babes on 2 occasions. Each time the food was greasy, overcooked and just not worthy of the money. My family and I shared the same opinions. Too much grease in the green beans and they were overcooked. The chicken was soggy and the mashed potatoes were not flavorful. I saw several other people leave their food and leave the restaurant. We will not be going again!

1 star= I hated it!!!!! The food served here is absolutely disgusting. Seriously, to begin with, what mexican restaurant does not know how to make a decent salsa? Second of all, the beef in our beef enchiladas tasted like dirt. No exaggeration. save yourself the money, time, and taste buds and go somewhere else. Perhaps, Glorias, On the Border, or Abuelos.

This place is really good , the food is really good the warm chips/salsa, the warm tortillas. The chip servers are very nice. My only complaint would be the hostesses and the waiters. The hostesses are young teenage girls, they always have attitudes, threw our menus on the table once. The waiters always seem to give us some sort of attitude.

came here for my birthday and had a great time. the food was delicious! midway through my meal they surprised me by placing a giant sombrero on my head and singing happy birthday. i was totally shocked and a little embarrassed, but it was all fun! drinks from the bar could be a little better though. i think they have too much syrup.
