Finally tried Mi Dia recently and Im sad it took me so long! We came for dinner on a Saturday night with a party of six, so I was glad I had called to make a reservation because the place was packed. Our server greeted us almost as soon as we were seated and made great suggestions on appetizers and some of their specialty cocktails. First impressions are everything and for a Tex Mex restaurant, Im quick to form an opinion based on the chips and salsa. Mi Dias chips and salsa are BOMB - probably the best Ive had in a while. Each person gets their own salsa bowl, which is served with both red and green salsa. Salsa is actually spicy (woohoo!) and chips are thin (my personal preference). Appetizers: As a table, we got the queso, which was good, and the tableside guacamole, which was amazing. Who puts bacon in guacamole?! Everyone was raving about the guac and we definitely cleaned that bowl. Its a huge serving (I think they use three large avocados?), but Id be tempted to order the guac anyone even if husband and I come back for dinner alone. Entree: I had the duck carnitas street tacos while husband ordered the sea bass tacos. Street tacos come four to an order, so I got to swap one of my tacos for one of his and I have to admit, I totally kicked myself for not going with the sea bass! The sea bass was cooked perfectly and all of the flavors in the taco (chile rub, pickled cabbage, avocado, and a remoulade) went together so well. The duck carnitas was cooked well, but it didnt have as much flavor as I was hoping. The sauce it was served with definitely helped dial up the flavor a notch though, so I still enjoyed it. Im not even normally a big fan of Mexican rice but I really enjoyed (and devoured) the poblano rice that came with the tacos. Another personal preference, but I preferred their corn tortillas (which is nice and thin but did not break) over the flour. Our party ordered various things for dinner from soup to tacos to enchiladas and everyone left full and happy. With its great food, service, atmosphere, and location, Mi Dia has definitely been added onto our regular rotation for Mexican food!

This restaurant was pretty busy especially for a Tuesday night. The restaurant was clean and nicely furnished with comfortable seating in a variety of arrangements. We were promptly met by host staff and offered seating inside or out with a short wait even after just seating a party of 30 and 4 other normal groups ahead of us. I only mention this because the staff handed it well. To me this means the management staffs appropriately and speaks volumes towards how the rest of the restaurant must be run in the back of the house. For an appetizer we tried the Chipotle Bacon Quesadillas Tex Mex served with chunks of bacon, caramelized onions, and cheese placed in a crispy corn tortilla, it was a great starter choice out of many interesting options. For dinner I had the Street Tacos Al Pastor accompanied by a side of seasoned rice and refried black beans. The juicy pork belly was well seasoned with just the right balance of grilled pineapple chunks served as in my mind it should be on a grilled corn tortilla. The dish was served hot and flavorful, but it was not spicy hot. This is a good way to try Al Pastor for the first time and represents one of my favorite varieties of street tacos well. From a sit down restraint, this was surprising. No rotisserie spit that I could see but the essences and flavor were there. For dessert I had a simple Flan. It had a smooth and creamy texture just as it should with a light caramel sauce. It was a great finish to a great meal. Thank you.

Nice change of pace compared to many of the chain places around town. The verde and regular salsa is good, chips are avg. They make the BEST table side guacamole in town though(although no bacon please). The mexican fair is good and the texmex is as well. Not the best, but unique and different. For instance, the chicken fajitas I had came with caramelized onions but no peppers... Different and tasty, but personally I want my dang peppers. Ive also had their cochinita pibil... One of the best Ive ever had. They also make great tortillas - fresh. It is a meat market so to speak.. Full of people looking to see or be seen. The patio is very nice and the view is exceptional. Their drinks are also great, but not cheap... in fact, nothing is cheap here, and that is what really holds the place back. For the price, it better be better than other chain restaurants. I can think of 3 places that stand taller for better prices.

We came by recommendation from our Uber driver and he was right. The table side guacamole with bacon was fantastic. It was not over salty and the texture was perfectly smooth with texture surprises from the onion, tomatoes, and bacon. The bacon added a wonderful smokiness to the dish. The chips were fine but they would get caught in the holes of the mortar and pestle which was not smooth. I ordered the steak & relleno which is a grilled skirt steak, topped with jack cheese relleno al carbon, topped with New Mexico red & green chile sauces & cheese. Served with guajillo rice & charro beans. The steak was a bit dry on the thin end but was much better on the thicker end. Overall the dish was a 4 star. Our server was really kind and helpful. We were fortunate to sit on the patio which enhanced the evening 100 fold. I doors was crowded and so loud.

Great food, service is horrible. Went there about 6 months ago. Could not get any drink refills without asking. Our waiter would disappear for 20 mins at a time. Manager hit me with door while I was seated and did not apologize. I complained and they gave me two comp cards to come back. I would not have used them but the food is very good so we went back this weekend. Again, terrible service. No drink refills without begging. Brought our food which was good except they brought the wrong item for one of my sons. Why a nice restaurant like this would not hire a couple of people to pour water is beyond me. Again, the waiter was gone for at least 10 mins at a time, several times. Problem is easy to fix but they have done nothing to fix it in 6 months. Fire the manager, the problems are from the top. At least hire some mystery shoppers!

This place is really over priced. I chose the esquites...its a 9$ appetizer, but i figured it would be loaded with mexican cheese & delicious. Ive had street corn before, its yummy. This was nothing like what Ive had before. I know this is upscale mexican, however they skimped on the queso...shame shame. The sauce was great, but no spicy kick. They can improve this dish & make it worth the 9$. Otherwise you might as well open a 1$ can of corn, mix in a mayo chipotle sauce & top it with a speck of queso & have the same thing at home for less than 4$. Lol I gave them 4 stars because the service was impeccable & my friends enjoyed their dishes. The kids meals are 8$ but legit. A full plate, and sopapillas. The server was very helpful with my 2 yr old toddler. If a place is upscale with upscale pricing, every dish better be on point.
