There’s nothing like pulling into the parking lot of a place and while getting out of the truck you are hit with the sweet smell of smoking BBQ. The brisket and wings were recommended so I decided on those with a side of potato salad and macaroni & cheese. The brisket had a nice smoke ring, color, and a slight smoke flavor. Unfortunately the down side the brisket was a bit “dry” for my tastes. Granted Kinsfolks uses a very lean part of the brisket, and I’m more partial to the moist side of the slab. While I try to avoid this, adding a little BBQ sauce to the meat did help. The wings were tender and had a great smoky flavor. No need for BBQ sauce or Ranch here…they stand all on their own! The potato salad was OK, the macaroni & cheese was pretty good and creamy. Good service and very nice people makes this place comfortable and feeling a little like “home”.

My husband and I have been looking for bbq most place are closed when he gets off work well he orders a pulled pork plate with sides and pulled chicken he didnt think to check food after a long work day and gets home the food is wrong we got a fish sandwich which we dont eat fish and the collard green were so salty u could not eat or end up with cholesterol problems so we called and they were closed called next day and they wouldnt even replace are order because what they gave us was more than what we orders we wanted bbq and did not get it we got white beans and cornbread salty greens and pork sandwiches with bbq sauce that was way to hot worse bbq experience ever

Outstanding barbeque! Im not from the area, so it was really nice to find a great local BBQ joint with such friendly people and delicious food! I ordered a center-cut pork chop meal and have to say, it was one of the juiciest, most tender chops Ive had in a while. The macaroni-and-cheese and baked beans complimented the meat perfectly, and hot corn cakes and refreshing sweet tea topped off the experience in a rather satisfying way. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area. Thank you for the soul food, Kinfolks!

I hate any chain BBQ, so I when it comes to eating it, Im very picky and not a whole lot impresses me. Boy, did I underestimate this place. Ill bet you cant find a better mom-and-pop style BBQ joint in Tennessee. I love to order the pulled pork plate. Its very reasonably priced and you get a LOT of food. The staff is very friendly, and while the location is a bit old, its maintained very nicely. I highly recommend this place to anyone that wants near-perfect BBQ in the Smyrna area. Truly worth all five stars.

This is the best bbq I have ever eaten. I have been to a lot of places and none compare to Jerry and his crew. I recently did a catered event with and purchased pulled pork and chicken from them along with slaw and baked beans. Everyone raved about the food and the bbq sauce. My first experience at Kinfolks BBQ was on a Friday night, we stopped in 15 minutes before closing and we were still pleasantly served. I was sceptical about the food quality beings it was the end of the day. Once again I was pleasantly surprised, our food was awesome. Even my son that isnt a fan of BBQ loved it. This will be our go to for BBQ now. Cant wait to try other items from their wide variety menu.

The smell of smoke outside the restaurant was better than the actual taste on the meat, but the pulled pork was fresh and tender. Turnip greens were bitter, and the mac and cheese was watery, with cold, fine shredded cheese sprinkled on top. The cornbread was like a Johnny cake, or pancake. Too thick and hard to swallow. Great friendly service, and the chess pie was really good.

Ive driven by this place many times and smelled the bbq smoking as I go by. Last week I couldnt help but to stop and try it. Ill tell you what, I have a new favorite bbq place to go eat at now. Everything is homemade, I dont even like mac n cheese and I was talked into trying it and it was amazing. You have to try it once, then youll be hooked. - Tommy

The barbecue is phenomenal, the catfish is great, the "last weekend" fried chicken is a nice one-weekend-per-month treat. And even for someone that doesnt like strawberries all that much, the strawberry cake is consistently one of the best desserts Ive ever had. The serving sizes of everything are plenty enough for just about anyone, too. Dine in, carry out, try some today!

The tea was good but the food is either burned or need more seasoning. And ive lived in the city and country so i know what both is supposed to taste like no im not an expert this is just my opinion. But true to heart sourthern or northern food people know how to cook...and prepare.. And they are not good.

This is real southern food. I love supporting local small restaurants and this is one of my favorite Smyrna Restaurants. If you live in Smyrna or close the barbecue, fried chick and ribs are worth the drive. And dont forget the turnip greens, cornbread and strawberry cake.

Great food, we looked up a BBQ near us since we just moved to Nashville and found this Gem of a place, service was fast, and the food will have us going back weekly. The Brisket was moist and tender, the pulled pork very most, thier BBQ sauce is perfect for thier meats.

Kinfolks is amazing! The staff are all incredibly nice, the wait time isnt terrible, and the food is great! The brisket is a little dry in places, but overall, its delicious. Also, the food is very reasonably priced! Would definitely recommend

The best bbq around!! Pork was flavorful and had the perfect texture, and the sauce complemented the meat perfectly. Staff were very friendly and courteous, even when I showed up 10 minutes prior to close. Definitely recommend!!!

Best kept secret in middle Tennessee. Jerry and wife are fantastically friendly and the food is ridiculously good. If you ask me what is the best entrée I will tell you everything! You cant go wrong by eating at Kinfolks!

Its not the best bbq Ive had but it was edible. All of the meats that Ive tried and my friends tried were dry and bland. The sides were bland as well. Ive tried them twice just to be sure.

Jerry and his family have great food and super friendly. Fried Chicken weekend is my favorite. Best banana pudding in town. His greens are the only ones my husband will eat.
