After watching an expose on absolutely alabama I loaded the fam and drove 1.5 hrs to eat at this place. I must have chosen the wrong time they were out of everything that I had chosen previously from there menu except for the bbq. The meat was tender and just ok for a place thats out in the middle of nowhere. The sauce was just ok as well. From what I could tell everything else must have been just standard frozen food service stuff since they were out of everything, I mean if it was homemade why not send someone shopping to replenish the supplies. I gave it 3 stars and a long review so that you would understand what to expect. They should keep the pit fired at all times as it is on a highway and the smell would stop a few cars, but it wasnt a cook day while I was there July 18th 2017. If your in the area stop by and try for yourself, hope the review didnt discourage .I think they were just having a bad day.

My husband and I went to the Top Hat today(March 25,2016).The food was great but our waitress was the worst.She took our order and brought our drinks then disappeared. Our food was brought to us by another waitress and after that we must have become invisible because no one came to ask us if we needed more to drink or to even give us our ticket.I had to ask the busboy for to- go plates to put the food in that we didnt eat.Our waitress finally appeared when I was at the register to pay for our meal.I suggest if you want to get Top Hat food make a to-go order and eat it at home.

Gross. Paid over $10.00 for four tiny ribs, the sauce on them looked and tasted like they opened a can of tomato soup and dumped it over the top of them. I got fried green tomatos and they would not give me some ranch for them. Fried okra was ok needed to change the fry oil I just had heard so much about top hat and I just was not that impressed. I will try it again and not get ribs maybe something else will be better? My parents also warned me that is was not good so it was not just me saying I did not like it....

Neat looking place with lots of antiques on the wall. The waiters/waitresses are very kind! Tea is excellent and pretty sweet! I ordered country fried steak and gravy with mac and cheese and fried green tomatoes. The country fried steak could have been better, taste was OK. The gravy was a little cold, had a good amount of flavor. The fried green tomatoes were fantastic! I recommend you try it. The mac and cheese taste pretty good, except it was a little bit cold. I left and the ladies said "Have a Great Day"!

Came here for lunch, they offer multiple lunch specials, the husband and I opted for the cheeseburger☆☆☆☆☆ all the way, with fries and slaw. Fries where hot and crispy. Slaw needed more salt. But the Burger was outstanding. They must have one heck of s seasoned flat top. We have also had their bbq pork sandwiches. Also top notch. We arrived 11:30 on a monday, and it quickly filled up for lunch. If youre wanting homey country food give this place a try.

the food was okay...the BBQ my group got was luke warm across the board, whether you got ribs, a BBQ pulled pork sandwich or just a plate of BBQ. 1.5/3 in taste there. the jalapeno poppers were really good though. they were very cheesy and just spicy enough and went well with the ranch. the food was fine, but maybe the fish wouldve been a better choice here instead?

Decently priced food and service overall. BBQ pork was good and the sauce was pretty good too. Good homemade thousand island dressing but was not impressed with the mac n cheese or baked beans (both just seemed like your average store-bought mix). The grilled chicken was nearly inedible though - avoid at all costs.

When I first discovered this little cozy place I was ecstatic, quiet location with wonderful food! The waitresses can be a little ghost like sometimes and disappear but theres always someone around that can help. BBQ sandwiches are excellent and the BBQ stuffed potatoes are wonderful as well!

Best barbecue you will ever put in your mouth. You absolutely MUST try their award winning homemade fried pies. The pecan are my faves but the apple and peach are also great. The waitresses are friendly and they keep your tea glass full. Great sweet tea by the way. Love it!!!

Order BBQ plate and supposed to be pork and it was mixed meat like chicken pork and beef? Trying to make money off of cheaper meat I guess. This has been an all time favorite of mine but I havent been there in a few years, probably not going back anytime soon.

The food was delicious. The building was clean and neat. The service was friendly and prompt. Overall I was very satisfied. I will go back for the catfish on another outing. Oh and the prices were reasonable.

Very good food. Some of the Best Fried Catfish you will ever taste. They have really good Bar B Q espically the Ribs. I would recommend getting sauce on the side. Bake Potatoes are ways fresh.

Excellent barbecue and southern cooking type foods. Normally get BBQ sandwich, chicken fingers. They also have fish, BBQ baked potatoes and other similar items. Good value.

The ribs were great - flavorful and tender. 1/3 rack wasnt enough. Should have gone at least 1/2 if not full rack. Sides were ok. Atmosphere and service were sub par.

Been going here since I was a kid, it was my grannys favorite place to eat and one of the only places left where you can get good country cookin and feel like family!
