The first time I visited Cafe Keough, I enjoyed an INCREDIBLE wine pairing dinner. Every dish was delicious and I rolled outta there fat and happy. Little did I know this French-inspired cafe would become a mainstay on my list of frequent places to dine. My favorite time of day to visit is lunch. Its super reasonable, fast and always yummy. I have enjoyed both the turkey and grilled cheese sandwiches. I always get the French onion soup with my sandwiches and dip them. The space itself is one of my favorite things about the restaurant. I love that the owners decided not to demolish the architecture of the old building. I have also been to several receptions here and the open, airy feel of the restaurant makes it the perfect setting. I love the outdoor seating that faces S. Main Street so you can people watch as if youre seated outside a Parisian restaurant. I honestly feel like Im on vacation, when Im at Cafe Keough. You must try it out!

The workers are so rude there. They just kept talking/hanging out as I waited at the cashier looking at them. I ordered a latte and this short hair blonde girl in red glasses said she needs to charge extra for the milk because I wanted my latte light iced. I told her thats how I order at every other coffee place, and she scooped ice up to the very top of the cup saying thats how she makes the latte. I am not paying $6.65 for a cup full of ice. Her attitude just ruined my coffee mood and I just walked out. Never going back. I heard similar experience stories from my fellow workers. They stopped going there due to the bad attitudes of the worker(s). I would fire her if I were the owner for his/her own good.

I ordered a muffin, croissant and a bagel with cream cheese. The person behind the counter asked: cream cheese? I said yes a bagel with cream cheese. She asked again: cream cheese??? I pointed to the giant menu on the wall and said yes CREAM CHEESE. It is right there between the lemon honey and basil pesto. She gave me a look like I was insane for wanting cream cheese. The bagel was then warmed in a panini press - not toasted. It was very bland tasting. The croissant was dry, stale and flavorless. The muffin was tasty but extremely crumbly. None of the staff were friendly or courteous. On the plus side, the cafe is in a very nice building with nice decor and you may sit outside.

The food, the service, the location, and the coffees are just prime, and did I mention the food? I work across Main St. at Brinkley Plaza and cant get enough of this place. Were here most Sundays for the Mimosa special (my wife and Is favorite time), and Im starting to work my way through the menu. So far it has all met or exceeded my expectations. Im a huge meat fan but the portobello mushroom sandwich is a must try. The burst of brine from the olive tapenade followed by the earthy mushroom and creamy goat cheese finish. Also, the simple yet delicious grilled cheese paired with french onion soup (when available) for a dunk and munch... I love food.

Excellent atmosphere. The building has so much character with high ceilings and original touches. The food was great. We had the bagel and lox as well as cafe latte and regular coffee. The coffee reminded me of cafes in Europe with a nuttiness and smoothness that is missing from larger coffee chains. My wifes latte was full of flavor. Our food was served tableside by the caring barista behind the counter. Other than the parking situation (street parking and walk down main Street) everything about this place was outstanding.

Avoid this place. The people working here are unclean looking and a few look like they have or are about to have trouble staying out of prison. One of the employees even found out where a friend lived, went to a her home and made violent threats standing out side screaming. (she did not know him personally!) The police were called on him and his companion, but nothing came since they ran away before the police arrived. These are not good people. I would not want to risk eating anything any of them had touched.

I dont understand how this place has escaped review. The prices are very reasonable and the food quality is excellent. Fresh ingredients for everything. Try the Lox Bagel, it was my first experience at Cafe Keough and if you enjoy fresh smoked salmon and capers you are in for a treat. They also have a very smooth European ambiance and serve a wide range of drinks. From tea and cofee to wine and liquor. Try it.

This kick-ass french inspired cafe/coffee bar/restaurant/probably the best first date place in Memphis, is a treasure. And I dont even like coffee. What I do like are the house made desserts and ridiculously calm atmosphere. This place is huge btw. What I thought was a ten seat place turned into a full scale restaurant and bar. This place rocks, gotta check it out.

They didnt seem to know the ingredients in their food, which was really important to me. Staff seemed kind of rude when I asked these kinds of questions. When I eventually got a bagel with their fig jam and a coffee it was good. Some family members got regular breakfast menu items like quiche and a bacon egg and cheese bagel and liked them.

I had to ask if the woman working there thought the grilled cheese was filling before I ordered, after her swell personal opinion thats what I decided for and I have to say it was probably the elegantly dressed grilled cheese Ive ever had. The actual review is in the stars, but this was so good it made me ramble on about a grilled cheese

This place is a gem! The service is always great, and the space is gorgeous. Lots of open room, plenty to choose from on the menu, including (naturally gluten-free) maracons!

Loads of dead to roaches inside, and they closed four hours earlier than normal for a private event. But the Keisha and coffee were really good so 2/5 not 1/5.

The latte I ordered was perfect and the Brie & Fig jam croissant that was recommended to me against my typical breakfast was OUTSTANDING! Soooooooo good!

I was there for breakfast. Loved sitting outside and my meal was tasty, latte was perfect. I was a tad disappointed at the high end prices.

I loved this coffee shop! The coffee was good and they have a lot of seating. Its in an older building with a lot of architectural details.
