Live here in Knoxville and finally decided to visit the Mellow Mushroom. We were terribly disappointed. My husband ordered a beer and the waiter came back and said the keg was empty, so my husband ordered another brand. My husband had a salad which was supposed to have lettuce, red cabbage, carrots, mushrooms, and tomatoes and tossed in dressing. There were two unripe tomato slices, a few shredded carrots, one small piece of red cabbage and the rest was lettuce. The dressing was served on the side. We ordred a pizza with extra mozzerella, onions, pepperoni and a calzone. They took forever to come and then were at room temperature (the waiter had told us they were just coming out of the oven). We thought the pizza was really short on mozzerella and when we received the check, we discovered the waiter had taken the order incorrectly (no mozzerella but at least we werent charged for it). The waiter had to go find us silverware and brought us each a fork in a napkin. He showed up later with two knives. Not a horrible meal but $25 for one beer, a small pizza, a small calzone and terrible service it was not worth it. Wont be going back.

Horrible experience here! Waitress didnt bring enough plates. Had to ask twice to get more. Brought my 2 year old an adult sized drink with no lid. We asked for a childs cup to pour it in. Asked twice before we got one. Asked one person at the 8 person table one time if they needed a refill. Tried to pay at counter and they informed us that our waitress would come take care of it. Waited 15 minutes while she chatted with what looked like her boyfriend at the counter for her to come take the money. I have waited tables many times in my life. If it was crowded I would understand. There were only two other tables in the whole place at 10pm. Left a minimal tip due to service and she followed us out into the parking lot to give it back to us complaining that she didnt need it and added that she only makes 2:13 an hour. Well, if it were my business and customers were treated this way, she wouldnt have a job.

I agree with many others about the service. Majority are young kids who don't seem to thrilled to be there, however, they sure have no problem chatting it up and being friendly with one another. I've had times where my order was never put in, my waiter NEVER came back after dropping drinks off. I come back for the food only and don't expect anything else of this place. Love the pizza of course, artichoke spinach dip and calzoneWITH ricotta or else its technically stromboli but the ppl around here don't know that. So moving along, I come back just to get a fix of my favorites. Atmosphere does suck, kinda uppity and yes the bar did seem like it has an "established" crowd already (members only). There is one mgr in particular who is great and squares everything away. But he shouldn't have to. However, it is what it is. Food is great, service, not so much

Usually love this place, but after last night, I doubt Ill be back to this location. Our waitress, Kelly, didnt even acknowledge we were sitting down for 20 mins. Then, after she took our drink orders, we didnt get those for 20 more mins. When we finally ordered our food, we waited on the appetizers for at least 25mins. During this time, a couple got up and left because she didnt even acknowledge them for 30 mins. Finally got our food, and didnt see Kelly again for 45 mins with the check. I took the check to the counter and she got very pissy that we didnt want to wait on her at the table. Everyone in her area was very upset with her service and a family wanted to leave, but they didnt want to leave without paying for their beer.

The pizza and bread are always amazing. They do take a little longer than most places, but its definitely worth the wait, in my opinion. If you plan on going on a Friday or Saturday, especially at night, definitely show up with plenty of time to be able to wait because its always packed. The service is usually good, and the staff have always been friendly. I love the atmosphere here; the decor and feel is pretty unique and fun. :) Also, just as a bonus, the bathrooms have always been clean, well-stocked, and in good shape when Ive been here. I love ordering more pizza than I can eat and having leftovers! Heating it up in the oven is the best: ) <3

Super friendly welcoming staff, Awesome variety of foods & vegan choices. I had the Kosmic Karma pizza & added pepperoni. It was delish & flavorful! Great environment, beautiful place only downfall was when I headed to the bathroom as soon as I hit the area where theyre located a Strong odor of urine hit me which is the last thing you wanna smell after eating!! Other than that loved it & the staff. Even staff that wasnt waiting on you acknowledges your presence & will strike up a friendly conversation. A++++ on staff manners & service which is hard to find most places!! That alone is enough to make me return & then the delicious food!!

Weve been here three times. Each time the pizza was very good- its not thin-crust but not thick...about the same type as the default Papa Johns, just better quality. Possibly our favorite in the Knoxville area. I cant 5-star them because the service hasnt been the most on-point, but I cant knock them too much because they tend to proactively fix their mistakes- the acting manager told us what they would do to fix it and gave us half-off our order. We didnt even have to bring to their attention. So, 4 stars for effort+quality, taking into account the slower service.

The good: the pizza, including the gluten free tastes very good. Ive never had any issues eating their gluten free pizza, unlike other places I have been to. The bad: they are regularly out of gluten free dough. I order pizza perhaps once a month and during the last year its been 3 times that they have not had gluten free available. So call ahead if you need gluten free like me and be prepared with a plan B. Update one year later: for the last year I have been able to get gluten free pizza every time I wanted pizza :)

My wife and I went to Mellow Mushroom in Farragut for dinner and ordered a pizza. She was about to eat her first slice and saw a long curly brown hair. We told the waitress and she offered to make another pizza. We just got disgusted and walked out but before we did I saw that the cooks had beards and no hair nets. I should have stood up in the middle of the restaurant and told the people what we found! WE WILL NEVER GO BACK!!!!!

If there is one thing I like about this place, is that you can buy a piece of pizza by the slice here and not being charged too much for it! When my Mama had knee surgery a few years ago, she had to stay in a rehab facility . There were people there that were, quite frankly, much older than she was, so Id get a slice of pizza from Mellow Mushroom, and then I would go over and eat with her so she wouldnt be so alone by herself.
