The location and building are hardly prepossessing, but do not overlook the cuisine that comes out of those doors. Thai Noodle Town is a hidden diamond in the culinary desert that is Kingsport, one not to be missed. I walked through the doors of this humble establishment & immediately I was gripped with an overwhelming scent of aromatics, garlic, spices, vegetables & flame (wok hai) a very warm & inviting smell that filled the entire room. One would have to try very hard to dissemble their appetite. It was 3 p.m. on a Saturday and the place was packed, every table filled with eager customers and sizzling hot plates of noodles going out. Not long after we sat down to wait I was greeted by a man I presumed to be the owner and placed a to-go order of pad Thai and drunken noodles (pretty commonly known dishes). 20 minutes I was told, and as I saw more plates coming out, I had no problem with the wait. The staff were friendly and very hospitable. As time went by my son became restless from sitting and the man who greeted us was kind enough to bring him a cup of water to appease him. A very kind gesture indeed. More than 20 minutes had past, and that was fine by me, the aroma was far too enticing. Soon later we paid and left as fast as we could to eat it. My expectations were high, being that Thai food is not common around here, and I must confess they were not only met but exceeded. Every steaming-hot bite was saturated in the flavor of the spices; A warming sensation began to fill my palate and I was enamored by the complexity of flavors achieved in this small kitchen. Quite frankly, I was shocked that something like this could come out of Kingsport. I did not leave one bite remaining on my dish. Needless to say, I will be returning to Thai Noodle Town soon with renewed appetite, eager to try more of their offerings. Now friend, I would urge you not to pass this place up, not to overlook it and not to miss out. But....thats just one mans opinion. Drop in and see for your self. Tasting is believing.

My wife and I are HUGE fans of green curry. When one of our favorite local establishments opted to go more "American" with their menu and drop green curry and some other delicious dishes, we were disappointed. (PS they added meatloaf instead of curry... Seriously!!) Anyway, I was looking around and found this little restaurant. I decided to pick up a to go order for my wife. I ordered Green Curry with chicken (green curry, coconut milk, bamboo shoots, red/green bell peppers, and carrots). When I arrived, the place was full (good sign of something great). I was immediately welcomed by an employee and notified they would be with me shortly. I walked up to the counter holding my little girl and told them my name. While the employee organized my order and took my credit card, she interacted with my daughter complimenting her and making her feel special (MASSIVE customer service points). I arrived home with the food and immediately tasted the wonderfully smelling curry. It was terrific. It had great spice out of the gate and held a savory taste that made me want more. I KNOW I KNOW, I got this food for my wife Dont worry she was able to enjoy the meal, but those first bites were mine and I did not want to stop. Next time I will be ordering double. The only downsides were that they are not at an easily accessible location, and I wish that they provided more jasmine rice with the dish. Other than that, this place has my business for good.

Food good. BUT be prepared to wait, and wait and wait. They are constantly overwhelmed and obviously have no plans to increase staff to meet demand. Seems like take out has priority. Weve called ahead and checked out the wait time (45 minute estimate) and placed an order, saying we planned on eating in. After we arrived three tables opened very quickly and we were seated at the first, noting who was waiting and where they were in the ordering / eating queue. In the end, it was plainly obvious our order was not placed in the queue until we were seated. Im not surprised by Mikes review and experience, from our past many times eating there, The owner pretty much tried to get across, calling ahead only for take out, If you want to eat in, just wait in the queue, which can often be well over an hour. With their recent price increases, well be checking out other venues for now.

My Beautiful wife, Crystal, and I have found our New Favorite restaurant! Thai Noodle Town is the Best Thai food in the Tri-Cities area, hands down. It is a family owned establishment, with friendly appeal. The owner and his family make you feel right at home, with special service and a great attention to detail. If you werent paying attention, you would think you were transported straight to Bangkok! The Pad Thai is Great! The best Ive ever had. I had shrimp and my wife had tofu. The menu isnt large. But I feel they have all there bases covered, serving up everything from appetizers to soup, and main course. And if youve ever had Thai Tea, theres is the best! Made fresh everyday. Needless to say, If your looking for a great place in Kingsport, TN to call your favorite restaurant, then look no further than the Thai Noodle Town. We Loved It!

My husband and I were in Kingsport on a business trip and found this restaurant. We walked in and there were no other customers so we were seated right away. We then sat there for a few minutes wondering when the waitress would come back to at least bring us some water and take our drink orders being there were no other customers to serve. While we are still sitting there waiting (still no water) a Caucasian couple walks in. The waitress immediately seats them, brings them water and takes their order. We sat there in disbelief. Needless to say we walked out. I guess African Americans are served last at this restaurant. It worked out for us because there is a Mexican restaurant next door and turns out their food is amazing. We ended up eating there a few more times before we left town.

We visited this restaurant based on the reviews. It was horrible. We ordered the summer roll, the drunken noodles with shrimp, the basil fried rice with chicken and the pad pik pow with beef. The summer roll was falling apart and the sweet and spicy dipping sauce was just sweet. We had to add flavor to the drunken noodles and the basil fried rice. The only dish that was passable was the pad pik pow, though the serving size was immensely small compared to the huge price tag of $13.95. The amount of protein in each dish was certainly not in keeping with the huge price tags on all the meals. In fact we spent $51.00 for three dishes and one appetizer, most of which went into the trash. I will never go back, being taken to the cleaners once is enough for me to learn.

The food is really good, the people are very nice BUT - the place seems disorganized (meaning looooong waits for food, whether you eat there or get take-out.) 3 other pet peeves: 1. Although its not posted here or anywhere else, or on their door last I checked, they close up for a couple of hours in the middle of the afternoon every day so their whole extended family, who seem to live in the back of the restaurant, can take siestas or some such. 2. They also close for days or weeks at a time with little or no notice or explanation. 3. One of the best things on the menu is their satay chicken, but its never available on Saturday evenings because, according to the owner, theyre closed on Sunday and Monday. (Doesnt make sense to me, either.)
