The foods were good, BUT the prices werent clear at all. We got 1 tom yum soup, 2 curry noodles, 1 Malaysian Beef Rendang. We order 1 chicken curry and 1 shrimp curry, and both of were really good. They were rich in flavor, and it didnt taste like they put a lot of MSP into them, but beef rendang was way too hard to eat, but I finished anyway since I was so hungry. The smell of the beef rendang wasnt the truth smell of Malaysian Beef Rendang since I eat them a lots a the Malaysian restaurants in Atlanta. At the end, we ordered a coke, and when we got the bill, we noticed something was odd. The tax on food at this restaurant was 15%, and the coke we ordered at the end didnt tax. I was about to ask the waitress, but it was late, and we were in hurry, so I just let it goes. So read your bill carefully.

We ordered take out and we will never go back. The "fried" rice tasted like a mushy white rice coated in a brownish type sauce? What ever it was it didnt taste anything like real fried rice.. My son ordered chicken & broccoli for $9.95 and there was only about a small handful of chicken pieces about the size of captain crunch cereal and they didnt even include the white rice to go with it, only that weird brownish rice. My husband and I ordered the white meat general tsos (they call it general chows) chicken ($12.30 each) and the meat was overly dried and it did not taste like chicken, at all. Overall we wasted $48.52. Not sure how that price was configured as it should have been $34.55 + tax.......$13.97 seems quite excessive for tax.

Nothing special. I have eaten at Ming Tree many times, both for lunch and for dinner. I consider Ming Tree to be somewhat overpriced in relation to other Asian/Chinese restaurants. If you want better bang for your buck go to China House on the Old Maryville Pike end of Hunt Road (China House is less expensive and has much more flavorful food, but is to-go only). If you want the best Chinese in the area then go to Szechuan Garden on 4211 Chapman Highway. The buck stops there for Chinese food. All in all Ming Tree is ok, which is to say it is much better than some other Asian eateries in the greater Blount County area. If you like your food a little bland, then Ming Tree is the restaurant fir you.

This place is okay but nothing more. I normally call in a takeout order and get their Orange Chicken or Sesame Chicken which are usually okay although occasionally the Orange Chicken is somewhat small and dried out. Most meals seem to come with an egg roll but if you dont ask for it, it will not be in the bag. On my last trip I was looking for something spicy so I ordered their Imperial Chicken as it had a chili pepper next to the name on the menu. I was quite disappointed when I got home with it. While it wasnt bad, it wasnt spicy at all. No peppers in the meal whatsoever. I wonder if you have to specifically order the peppers like you do the egg rolls.

Bills itself as a Chinese/Thai restaurant. No Thai tea, no Tom Kha Gai... Anyway, since they had virtually no Thai items, I tried the Chinese side of the menu. Ordered the shrimp in ginger sauce with fried rice. The shrimp were lost in soggy, greasy fried batter with the tails hidden inside. There was some sliced carrots & some water chestnuts in a watery bland sauce. The "fried rice" was made by adding soy sauce to white rice, and the egg roll was hard & chewy with an "off" smell. On the up side, the waiter was attentive and kept my iced tea full. Its not his fault the food wasnt up to snuff.

Weve been eating here for years and have never had a bad meal. Their hot and sour soup is the best Ive had anywhere but if thats not your taste, they do have a very extensive menu with plenty of other options. The lunch menu is very affordable and the portion sizes are just about right; dinner entrees are a little more expensive but are usually too big for me to finish in one sitting. Weve been to all of the Chinese restaurants in the Knoxville and Maryville areas and this one is by far our favorite.

For years Ive had family and friends sing the praises of Ming Tree, so a few ladies and I at work decided to try it for lunch. My Chicken Lo-Mein was GREAT. Very flavorful, and the onions and sprouts were cooked perfectly. Only issue I had-- that we all 3 had-- was with the wonton soup. Broth had zero flavor, therefore the wontons were also flavorless. Basically just a bowl of hot water. Other than that, it was a pleasant experience.

The food was pretty good, very hot and fresh on lunch. The staff was extremely nice and I love how they actually give you the right portions of food and not a wasteful large plate that you will never eat. The food is a bit greasy, but thats expected from an American Chinese restaurant. I also enjoyed how quite the eating area was despite a lot of other people being there. Prices are also very reasonable.

Although the food here is ok, it does not get anywhere close to traditional Chinese food. How do I know? Because I am Chinese. If you want more genuine Chinese food, look elsewhere. A huge part that makes it not genuine is that the "spicy" food is not even spicy at all. Max 2,000 on the Scoville Scale... If you dont like spice and wants to try Chinese food, then, by all means, give it a go.

I ordered the shrimp fried rice. The meal was not special at all. I would rate it just above a frozen meal. With little effort anyone could make a better shrimp fried rice. The shrimp tasted a little off. I couldnt identify exactly the taste but it wasnt delicious. And the rest of the rice was uninspired. I do not recommend this restaurant. Completely over priced for what they are serving.

I have been to all the chinese restaurants in Blount County and none can compare to Ming Tree. Weve been eating there for years and have never had a bad meal. The place is always clean, and the wait staff is very attentive. The house specialties (house beef, chicken, pork)come with a spicy brown sauce which is awesome and I have found at no other Chinese restaurant.

This is my absolute favorite Chinese Restaurant. My Fiancé lives in North Carolina, and He says Hes never had any better. Always fresh, won ton soup is always delicious, the noodles are never rubbery or slimy like most others . Delicious sweet tea! Awesome service , I eat there at least once a week . Great prices during lunch hours 7 days a week .

Unlike most asian restaurants, Ming Trees staff makes you feel welcome and will do everything they can to accomodate you. The atmosphere is great, very laid back. Food is always fresh (NO buffet). Menu is well rounded; there is a dish for all tastes. Ming Tree is my favorite asian restaurant in the area; I highly recommend it!

I ordered there kung p.o. chicken and it was the nastiest food I have ever had. Was suppose to be a little spicy and it tasted like I was eating a bag of sugar it was so sweet. Tried to talk to the waiter and he just ignored me didnt even try to offer me anything different. I am very disappointed will never be back
