The mark of a party is the cake. It does not matter what kind of party it is, it is always, all about the cake. Pink Pinapple came highly recommended to me from my clients, they said their wedding cake was wonderful, so I decided to order my daughters 13th birthday cake from them. I am a huge supporter of small, family owned businesses but was hugely disappointed. I ordered a 2 tier fondant cake with 2 dozen cupcakes. Worked with one of the girls on what I wanted and said for them to be creative and have fun with it, after all it was for a teenage party. I should have been way more specific but I really dont even think that would have helped. First of all, the cake was what I wanted, white fondant with "splatter paint" effect, chocolate and vanilla, but thats where it stops. I asked for a "13" on the top and her name on the side. I got a 73 (because the 1 seriously looked like a 7) and a poorly cut name in white on the side. Not only did the name NOT stand out, it was barely on the side of the cake just laid on-top of the splatter paint colors...it was rippled looking, not smooth and I was afraid it was going to fall off before we even got to the cake cutting. Secondly, the cake was lopsided, leaning, not centered...it was so unprofessionally finished I was aghast because I paid sooooo much for it...$200+. And to top it off, they do not box their specialty cakes..."its in the contract". When my husband went to pick up the cake and cupcakes, he was blown away that they did not want to protect their product, nor were they willing to help. "Its in the contract, if you wanted it boxed, it would have been an additional $50, but it had to be put in the contract" I had NO IDEA that a BOX would have to be "special" ordered for a cake...from a cake/bakery company! No, I did not read all the fine print in the contract, but I did not even think that would be something I had to look or ask about! He had to get my oldest daughter and a friend to come to the shop and hold it while he drove to the venue. By the time I got there saw the cake and then the cupcakes...I was very upset. The Cupcakes....I had asked that the cupcakes stay in the theme of "neon glow party" different bright colors. They came looking like flat half-baked cupcakes with the same fondant "splatter-paint" the cake had. It was as though they had extra fondant and decided to just cover the cupcakes to make it easier on them. They looked awful! My birthday girl saw them, said it was fine, no big deal (remember, shes not the one paying, only 13, and is more worried about the taste)....BUT seriously, who puts fondant on cupcakes!?!? Cupcakes are suppose to be big and fluffly and at $2.99 a piece they should have been big and fluffy! Now comes the cake cutting time.....everyone sings, my daughter is happy, everyone is finally getting the cake and cupcakes they have been itching to get to......most of them peeled off the fondant, took a bite and laid it down. A BUNCH OF TEENAGERS PUT DOWN CAKE AND CUPCAKES!! I knew it was bad. The cake when I cut it was hard, and NOT one guest came back for a piece of cake or another cupcake. NOT ONE. Needless to say, I could have saved myself about $300 and gone to Kroger. I do not recommend, will not recommend nor be a repeat customer. Very disappointed. I have not contacted them or asked for any money back. I will not. I was willing to pay "Cake-Boss" pricing for my daughters cake. However, I was NOT expecting worse than a Kroger or Wal-mart cake. I have now learned a valuable lesson......paying a higher price does NOT always mean you get what you paid for.

I walked into this bakery with expectations of delicious home-baked goods...the building reminded me of a run down deli, which usually yields surprisingly good food and smells of it as well. This place didnt smell of anything delicious, which was the first bad sign. As they advertised European style baked goods, I expected quality.. not Pillsbury dough. The cinnamon bun wasnt any better than a microwaved tasty cake, with very little icing to cover up the lack of flavor. I also sampled their cookies, which I figured was not too easy to mess up. I stand corrected, as I was thoroughly nauseated by the mushy wedding cookie and dusty macaroon. Im very displeased that I spent 10 dollars at this atrocity. The only reason I gave them 2 stars is because they were kind and had samples of their stale leftovers. I would bump them up to 3 stars, because I was super excited about their organic fair trade Peruvian coffee.. unfortunately it was as lackluster as their pastries. Would you like some coffee with you water?? Come on down to the pink pineapple!

What can I say about Pink Pineapple European Style Bakery that my 5-Star rating doesnt say? What an amazingly talented crew here. I do believe I had the pleasure of speaking with the owner when I called to set up a surprise birthday cake. Everything she said shed do, she did. We emailed and the communication was clear. Even when I got sick, she worked with me. She stayed true to her word and trusted Id stay true to mine. Her company delivered the cake to the resort we were traveling to and helped me pull off the biggest Birthday surprise yet! Thank you so much!! The cake was and cookies were a big hit, and when she finally cut it and saw that it was red velvet she flipped her wig!! Thank you guys bunches!!

I love this little Bakery. I grew up with a mother who was always baking everything from scratch. She would scoff if you even mentioned the idea of making a box cake. Everything at Pink Pineapple tastes just like my mother would make if not better. I particularly love the Napoleons. They use REAL CUSTARD!!! Not that fluffy sugary nonsense you usually get in America. I will definitely be returning for a Napoleon and espresso and am recommending my sister look into using them for her wedding cake. I saw some pictures on Facebook of what they have done in the past and it looks amazing. Thank You Aura and Rebeca for bringing good old fashioned baking to the grand strand :-)

Best tasting, moist cakes! Flavors are amazing and the staff love to help you find or create what you want. These are really handmade cakes! Blows super market mass produced cake or off the water! They will work with you to make a custom cake with your budget, or order one of the staple classics! Either way you go, the price is worth every penny for these delicious cakes!

The owners stopped by our office this week to bring us a sweet sampling of their goods. I cannot say enough about how delicious they were! Fresh, creamy, tasty, and beautiful to look at! We enjoyed them very much and will be sending our guests there for sweet treats! Thank you!

Went in with my grandson one afternoon to see what all they have. Was pleasantly surprised at the choices they offered. We got to taste test a few sweets and I left there smiling and almost broke.;-)

A neighbor suggested this little place. The Pink Pineapple was lovely and the treats we purchased were so delicious! This will be a regular, if not daily stop for us
