Ill preface this with: I look at this place from a big city lens. I was raised in So Cal and have lived in Buffalo about almost 8 years. Buffalonias love their mom and pop businesses. And I really just dont care. At times it can bit trivial. If I want coffee I go to Starbucks or Tim Hortons. I am about my taste buds not my loyalties. And my taste buds, should you decide to go and visit this place are all about their cinnamon buns. Who this place is for: Someone that understand the value of how much work went into the food and overlooks the price. Youre paying for quality and IMHO its a better investment in your health than going to a big corporate restaurant like Paneras (and they do have their own pluses) do love their salads and their coffee) However, their bread has gluten. Thats just the reality of it. This place is also for the foodie/tourist who enjoys going to places that are indigenous to the area. This is the kind of place I would take any friend or family member from out of town to go. I prefer this over the anchor bar. Just my thang. This is a cooperative based business model. With that said, you will find only the highest quality of bread served. Organic in every way. How they make the bread which is astonishing. They really make this stuff by hand! Their ingredients are from local farmers in the area and there is a lot of TLC put into all their produce. This is what makes this place so exceptional. This place is a rare find here in Buffalo. Im surprised that is not more reviews about this place or maybe you will see more on Yelp. I recommend you bring a good read or your tablet and have a cup of organic coffee, or freshly baked (made that morning) bread, or their awesome cinnamon rolls. Maybe an organic duck/chicken egg from a farm just a couple hours away. You will love it.

A HUGE fan of fresh local ingredients! No matter what a supporter of LOCAL establishments, would pick this over a chain restaurant ANY DAY! Its known for "toast", so if you dont know what to expect, thats it, one sandwich option (Reuben), a little disappointed in that. One bread (two slices), cheese, and peppers. Delicious power grain, flax, pumpkin seeds, super grainy great! I got their Xtra sharp NY cheddar (local dairy supporters, I only wish they sold the cheese in their dairy case;) and yummy pickled peppers. Portions are very small and prices are a little high, but you get the satisfaction in you get what you pay for, great choices and people who believe in what they are selling, not average priced processed garbage. The cold pressed juices are ALL that! I absolutely loved the strawberry! Fantastic for vegetarians, especially when you have dumped your family off at the over rated chicken mortuary, Anchor Bar and need a healthy chill option!

There is something that is just so good about this place..everything! The bread is delicious, unbelievably fresh, local, and thoughtfully done; the place is just that, an incredible place to visit, eat, enjoy, and stay awhile - I think its telling that their kitchen is so open to all; the folks who work there are kind and generous; and the food is delicious, creative, and wholesome. There are few better ways to toast toast than to head over to Five Points, order up a plate of toast (I love the cheddar bread with blue cheese and hot sauce), sit, and enjoy!

Its a whole grain bakery so dont expect baguettes, they source everything they can locally including the non-gmo grain. A few tables with wifi and plugs so you can enjoy some of the treats they offer while working on your novel. The most confusing thing Ive noticed is that its not a restaurant so there is no restrooms, cant wait for the new place to open as their expanding across the street.

I always come here after making a stop a Urban Roots. The bread is so fresh. I usually get the walnut raisin bread with peanut butter, fresh apple peices and cinnamon on the side. So healthy and i always leave satisfied. The ice coffee is always brewed to perfection and they have the cutest little play area for kids. My son just loves. Its a must visit when you are on the westside!

A break from normal eating out fun, this Toast Bar and Bread Bakery offers a variety of wonderful menu items created from their own wonderful healthy bread. The bread is whole grain and made with a love of bread making you might want to take a few loaves home. I strongly recommend the cheddar bread and the walnut cinnamon, though there is nothing bad here.

This is a favorite breakfast spot. They have a delicious menu of special toast creations, and of course, their famous whole-wheat cinnamon rolls. In addition to their own bread products, they also make really good granola, and carry various local products, like milk, eggs, honey and some meats. They also serve Ithacas own Gimme! Coffee.

I never knew toast could be so amazing and crave worthy. Alwaus amazed at the creative combinations for the toast plates, both sweet-ish and savory. Even the cutlery, plates, S&P shakers, creamers- everything- eclectic. Super wonderful bread- always consistant

Everything in the store, breads to butters, juices, honey, cheeses, all amazing. Can sell you grain to make your own bread as well. All local, all really swell. My only complaint is the lack of a good bread for your everyday sandwich.

This is no hole in the wall. Really nicely put together with a pleasant rustic atmosphere. A strong emphasis on living organically and green! Love the "chopstick" coffee stirrers. Amazing coffee and great simple food that hits the spot.

This is a great hole in the wall. The toast selection is phenomenal. Service is great. Over all a 9 out of 10. Coffee was average at best. Would have given it a 10 if coffee was better.

Great restaurant. I have been there several times. Took my daughter for the first time, who is a real foodie and she absolutely loved it. Food and service as always was the best.

Great toast, friendly staff, amazing brown sugar tea, pleasant atmosphere. Cant go wrong going here in the morning or for a late brunch. They also sell their breads in loaves.
