This was one of my favorite restaurants until tonight. Some friends of mine went to El Cancun to celebrate a birthday. There were 4 women, all african american, except for one. who was caucasian. They came in purchased their drinks and were seated at a table. As the 4th woman arrived, she had not yet taken her purse from her shoulder when the manager was at the table to "warn" them that there were special people at the restaurant and they could not get loud. He further stated he had had trouble in the past with others like them. Now, only 1 of these women, the birthday girl, had been to El Cancun. The other 3 were not from Rock Hill and had never been to El Cancun. The manager, although other parties were there and they were loud, these were the only women he warned. It upset the patrons in the booth behind them (who were caucasian) and heard the comments. It upset their waitress who sat with them and apologized for the managers behavior. Now, the birthday girl had been with me and 2 of our friends there just last week. No one warned us to keep it down when we arrived. No one told us they had had problems with others in the past. Difference in the group, there were 3 caucasian women and 1 african american that night. I normally wouldnt say anything, but this was my friend and this was racial profiling and discrimination and she was hurt as were her friends. This manager ASSUMED they would be loud. They hadnt ordered their food yet. They had only been seated. I will never again eat at El Cancun on Cherry Road because of the way my friends were treated. They have forever lost my business. The owners son apologized for his manager and offered them a free meal, but a free meal doesnt fix discrimination. They left quietly but hurt as being treated as less than. I, personally am outraged. El Cancun you should be ashamed. There is more to this story than this short post, so understand, this was definitely racial profiling and discrimination.

Worst customer service experience ever. The hostess was rude and told us to "come on" while directing us to our table. Took forever for the server to come to our table and take our order. When he finally did and I asked him a question about something on the menu, he said: "are you ready to order or not because I have four other tables I have to get to" When my friend asked if they could only put a little lettuce on her sons taco the server said no she would have to take it off herself. After we got done eating and the server took our money, he swiped the card for another customer in the restaurants bill TWICE. Will never go back here. Never had such a bad/rude experience at a restaurant.

Ive always loved going here, but here lately the service has become TERRIBLE. Every single take out order I place, be it over the phone or in person, there is something wrong with it. The managers are rude hateful and uncaring. It amazes me how incompetent these people are at completing a simple task and order. They need to step it up, learn some manners, and do there jobs right.

Most native Rock Hillians go here for their Mexican fix, but I cant say I understand why. The food is okay, the salsa not-so-okay, but the wait staff is generally friendly. Too crowded and noisy most nights for my taste, fir inexpensive Mexican Id recommend just heading a bit further down the road and hitting Tequilas instead. Charandas is good too, just a little more expensive.

Horrible customer service for a large to- go order from the phone call order placement to the pick up. The person taking my order was rude and seemed annoyed for no apparent reason. The food was just ok and menu prices listed online are not what we were charged for. They will no be getting my business again in the future.

This is the favorite Mexican restaurant for most people I know in my town. They have great food, great service, and plenty of tables so theres never a wait. They have bar seating as well as indoor and outdoor dining. There is a room that is great for large groups.

By far one of the best Mexican restaurants I have visited. Not only is the food great but the service too everyone is real friendly good Spanish music in the background. Without a doubt, el cancun Mexican restaurant will be added as one of my favorites .

Great food and large portions for the price. The salsa was fresh and so were the chips. The only drawback was the limited parking. Its always so hard to find a space, no matter what time of day it is.

El Cancun is the bees knees, as far as mexican food in Rock Hill in concerned. Its an awesome place for a family dinner, or a night of getting wasted with your friends.
