The Asian Catfish (??) is not the only thing that stinks at the Diner, so does the Owners customer service and social skills. Just as part of our dinner was being served, The Owner walks up and puts a reserved sign on our table, which makes my 12 year old grandson question, what is that?? The response, " I have a large party that just came in and the LOCALS come in and sit wherever they want." ( How Ironic, when you walk in they yell, sit wherever you want.). I just found it rude to put a reserved sign on a table for a group that just walked in, when the Present customers are just receiving their order. Nothing says hurry and get out any louder.... This Local has been spending their hard earned money at the Osteen Diner for the last 15+ years since originally opened by Terry. Our waitress was good, But that is where it stops..... 3 out of 4 dinners came, 2 BLT w/ fries, a bacon cheese burger w/fries. The chicken strip w/ fries were not ready. There was not 1 whole piece of bacon on either BLT, more like bacon bits and pieces, mostly lettuce. The chicken strips arrived with no fries, still cooking, when the fries finally arrive they are pale, limp and inedible, sent back.. The owners comment and the poor quality of food definitely did not justify a $54+ check...... We assured our waitress she did a good job and left her tip. Osteen Diner is over priced for food that is 80 % prepackaged frozen items

The few times Ive been I had very good service and the place is always packed but I dont get why everyone says it has great food. It seems like they dont even try....even for a cheap diner. This mornings biscuits and gravy had a hard, dry biscuit and this glop of too thick, gray, very salty sludge on it. Another lady had ordered the same thing and asked the waitress if it was supposed to look like that. Biscuits and gravy should have a warm biscuit (on the soft side) with gravy that is warm and thinned out enough it can actually absorb into the biscuit a little when poured over the top. Like I said, this place is always busy....maybe I just keep ending up visiting on a bad day(?). My other two visits I had a similar experience with different entrees (one was a BLT...how can you mess that up?!?...but they did with toast that was left over from breakfast maybe? It was so hard that I couldnt bite it and the bacon was cold from the refrigerator and had cold grease on it where they never drained it after cooking. If this place had a few kick-ass, from scratch recipes for things like biscuits and gravy, maybe some homemade mac n cheese and a few other diner basics it would really do well. I gave two stars and those stars belong to the wait staff...they do good work!

Went here on a whim while in the area photographing the old railroad line.....HOLY CRAP it was AWESOME, absolutely fantastic, everything is made fresh and on the spot. I had the popcorn shrimp dinner and I loved it, very filling. I made it about halfway through my plate and had to get a box and Im 61" 220. Born and raised Native Floridian, this is how its done folks. This place is a diner if I ever saw one, the business-end on the forks wasnt perfectly straight and the plates are checkerboard on the edges. All locals who work there too, if I hadnt known any better my grandparents were working in the back cooking all the food. This place makes Cracker Barrel look like the frozen food aisle at Walmart.

I really wish people would double check to make sure they have the correct places BEFORE leaving any reviews. The review "Osteen Disappoints NC Seafood Lover" has the wrong place. The one they are speaking of is in St. Augustine. It is called Osteens. This place is located in Osteen, Florida and is called Osteens Family Restaurant. If you are going to leave reviews at least have the courtesy and respect to make sure you are complaining about the right place! I just recently found out that the family that owns Osteens Family Restaurant are old friends of my family. Small world. I live only 15 mins away and never knew it.

The Osteen Diner is a great restaurant for all, especially for families with kids and people coming from or going to the beaches. All employees are wonderful and provide great customer service, something that most restaurants fail to do anymore. The food is well priced and the specials are very good. They also serve beer and wine at a great price. The restaurant offers plenty of seats for people in wheelchairs so I dont know why that was noted as a negative by Boggychefpat. Try one of their great pies, you wont be disappointed!

When we arrived there were only a few people there, but it took the waitresses a good 10 minutes before they acknowledged us and took our drink order. When we did order though the food came fast and was excellent. We decided to sit outside for the kids to see the cows and chickens and feed them, which they loved. My husband ordered breakfast and I ordered a philly and the kids got popcorn chicken and fries. We were all very satisfied with our food and the prices arent bad either. We will definitely be back!

We must have the worst luck with this place. Ground sirloin thin, hard. Gravy, yuck. Wifes corn I could not even eat it. Waitress, could not find after order arived. No water refill. Had to hunt her down to get the check. Found her in back, looked like she was prepping the tea. So disapoibted. This place is close to home, seems like it has great possabilties. Guess it will be another couple years before we are brave enough to try it agsin.

I have been coming here for years, primarily for breakfast. A real down home country setting, with really nice murals reminding us of a simpler time. The food is great (good selections in menu). Jo is my favorite server. She knows me and my usual order, and always makes me feel welcome. I love coming here for breakfast!!

Very good. Food was excellent as well as the service. Prices are Low and portions are of medium size. The atmosphere is that of a old country diner. No frills here, just good food and great service. First time here but, I assure you it wont be the last. Plan on returning soon.

I ordered the Buffalo chicken sandwich and the piece of chicken was smaller than the bun bottom, it was gross. It was $8 and change...a McDonalds hamburger is bigger. I had to order something else in addition to this because I was still hungry after eating just the chicken

We LOVE the OD!!! Miss Ruth and Ken are the best hosts ever! Their food is fresh, the orders are HUGE and their waitresses treat you like family!! With all the other restaurant choices we have we always come back to Osteen Dinner! Love to feed the animals, too!!

Real Florida food home made - - hows that for old-time Florida? The southern fried chicken is my favorite and its crunch and delicious. The desserts are really good, too. Some of the side dishes are a bit weird in my opinion, but just choose the ones you like.
