My office staff & I get take out from this restaurant several times a week, the food is good for the price and they have a fast turn around which is ideal when you have time constraints. Last Friday, myself & a couple friends decided to go to happy hour. Again, the food was good, and up until 9pm the service was good. At 9pm, it was obvious our server (Sam) had been cut and wanted to leave since she didnt bother asking us if we wanted anything else (although we had been steadily ordering appetizers & drinks), she just brought us our checks. When we told her we werent done ordering she rolled her eyes and asked what we wanted. Had she simply said she had been cut, we would have all cashed out, and asked for another waitress but she didnt, she just made it obvious she wanted us to leave. We all paid our bill when another friend joined us around 930pm (they dont close until 11pm) he went to the hostess stand to request a waitress, all of whom were sitting at a booth waiting to go home. They made a big stink about who would have to serve our table before Courtney obviously lost. I have never met a waitress as rude in my entire life. She walked up to our table and said, "What do you want?" Our new diner asked for a menu which she didnt acknowledge, just walked away bringing one back. She came back a few minutes later and simply stood over our table willing us to order. Her behavior continued as she served us, around 10pm, an hour before the restaurant closes, she tells us the kitchen is about to close and she needs to close out our tab - again, can we say there was a server who was cut and wanted to go home?? I asked her how late the restaurant was open thinking maybe I had misread the sign, she not only didnt respond to the question, she simply turned her back and walked away. She came back a few minutes later, taking the receipts from our table, and she left...no word that she wouldnt be back to wait on us. Meanwhile, we watched other tables be served food until we left at 1045pm...so much for the kitchen closing at 10pm, huh? I can honestly say, I will continue to get take out because I like the food, but I will never go inside this restaurant again. There was no manager to be found and the wait staff was atrocious.

i would like to start off by saying the food here is amazing. the service on the other hand not so much. i live here in greenville and work nearby red bowl. i have been into this restaurant twice to pick up my food and on both occasions have recieved terrible service. i am an african american gentleman and i was NOT greeted..had to wait until i made eye contact with a worker before i was asked if i needed help (not welcome to red bowl)...the brunette at the front counter was very dry and not very nice AT ALL so as i was seated waiting on my food a caucasian woman walked in and was IMMEDIATELY greeted and seated. and to ad insult to injury, when my food was bought to me there wasnt a "thank you" or anything. the gentleman handed me my food and walked the other way. will no longer give red bowl another penny of my hard earned money. it is 2015 and if you cannot greet every customer who is paying your bills with at least a hello, then your establishment dosent need to be open. i felt VERY disrespected and VERY unimportant. i am a car salesman and when a customer is here to give us their business and their hard earned money you are supposed to wait HAND AND FOOT on them..no matter what the color of their skin is. but then again...what else can you expect from a $7.00 an hour employee.

This is one of my favorite restaurants, mainly because they have an extensive gluten-free menu. Their food is delicious and their sushi is absolutely devine. And, this is the only restaurant I know of that offers gluten-free soy sauce! I always have to carry my own in a small bottle if I plan on eating sushi at any other restaurant. (I know that may sound a little silly to some, but its actually a big deal to me.) The service is normally very good. In all the time my family has visited, weve only come across a couple of bad waiters. (But, I suppose that happens anywhere you go.) The food comes really fast and the portions are huge, which means leftovers for the next day! ٩(-̮̮̃-̃)۶ Since it is very difficult for me to eat out due to my food allergies, I keep a list of restaurants that I am able to eat at. Whenever I find a great restaurant that is able to accommodate my needs, I add them to my list. Red Bowl is right up there at the top! And, since my family also loves their food, its at the top of their list, too. *My recommendation to anyone with a gluten allergy: try the GF sesame chicken with the fried rice. You will not be disappointed!

Today my Fiance had a doctors appointment. Afterwards we wanted some pad thai and bang bang shrimp, but we were short on time. So we called Red Bowl to place an order so it would be ready when we got there. At first the girl didnt know how to do that, then she came back on the line and refused to do that. I asked if we could just place a to-go order and eat there. She agreed to take the to-go order. We got there, paid and tipped and asked to be seated. There was plenty of space available, but your hostess refused to seat us. Said we could sit at the bar if we wanted to, but she would not seat us. So we sat at the bar and began eating our food. In the 15 minutes we were there, the bartender!S! passed us 20 times, but never once even acknowledged our pretense, offered water or asked if we wanted a drink or a napkin. I have never been so rudely treated and though we frequented Red Bowl often we will never eat in your establishment again. Thought youd want to know how you lost a customer. Regards, Robin

We used to love Red Bowl, but our last visit really left a lot to be desired. The hostess wasnt at her station when we arrived (which is okay) but when she eventually sauntered over she was borderline rude, like she was doing us a favor seating us. The place was dirty, which is understandable if youre busy...but they werent. The seat at our booth was torn, badly. I wish Id have gotten our servers name because she was the only good thing about our visit. The food was uncharacteristically bland and the whole place just felt...I dont know - tired or something. And did I mention that I think the prices had increased as well? If this had been my first visit, it would have been my last. I know theyre capable of doing better; I wont write them off...yet. But you guys went from a solid 5 stars to three, and almost two. If your employees can stand around shooting the breeze, they can sure push a broom or wipe a table. One more chance.

This isnt the best place to go for "authentic" Thai, however the price is right when it comes to the amount of food in an order and the price. The best thing Ive had on their menu is the Pad Thai (the serving is HUGE!! Youll be able to share with a friend and take leftovers with you) and the rest of it is just normal/average/as expected. The atmosphere is neat and simple but there are other authentic places around town that will beat the price and the taste. This, to me, is just a neat place to go to when Im in that particular area of town. The wait staff has been typical-nothing great/as expected. One warning...the sushi is smaller compared to the REAL places so if youre getting half price sushi, you will be getting what you paid for. That was an unexpected and bad surprise.
