My boyfriend and I were in Columbia for a day trip and we didnt know where to go for dinner, so I pulled up Google Maps and looked for nearby restaurants. We decided on a Cuban place, Mojitos (also very good) because we dont usually get to do Cuban, but I had looked at the menu for Camon and was interested in coming by and sampling a couple of the more authentic dishes. I didnt know what to expect, since I just glanced at the rating rather than read the reviews, so when we got there I was having second thoughts. Its just a little hole in the wall, really. I was reassured when I heard the chef speaking Japanese, and long story short, the food was great. I havent had sushi that good since I went to Taiwan. We got a sashimi sampler, a couple of uni nigiri, and the agedofu, and it was all wonderful. The fish is fresh and firm and the chef puts quite a bit of thought into preparing and arranging it and the tofu was in a wonderfully light, savory broth. The uni was creamy and slightly sweet, without the heavy flavor of lower quality urchin roe. Definitely coming back next time were in Columbia.

This is the best sushi place Ive found in town. The restaurant has an authentic Japanese atmosphere - its not lively or loud, which makes it great for a date or business dinner. The food is exceptional - truly. I always go there for sushi, but my wife doesnt like seafood so she typically has the teriyaki and has always been pleased. The kind and very accommodating staff has at every visit offered some additional sushi on the house. At our last visit they had run out on an ingredient they typically use to garnish a plate. We honestly wouldnt have known the difference and even said it wasnt a big deal when they informed us. Nevertheless they insisted on offering a desert in its place. To me this shows that they truly care about their customers and the experience. Ill be returning frequently.

The most authentic taste sushi rice ever had in the US east. The owner chef Shige-san cooks the rice just right for his sushi. Many sushi rice in the US are often prepared too sticky, too chewy, or no vinegar in it at all. His sushi rice not only has authentic Japanese sushi rice taste, which is of course delicious, but also good texture and temperature. I shouldnt forget to mention that its amount is also right. If you want the same quality, probably have to go NY or CA and paying twice or more. Their tempura is also recommended. Pair with unsweetened green tea then you are virtually in Japan.

Ive been trying to come here for a while now, I can never get the chance because the window to visit is so small. I sat at the bar and felt comfortable, the atmosphere is nice. I looked at the menu and the prices are up there (I eat a lot of sushi). I ordered a roll and a two pieces of nigiri. The fish wasnt in the best of condition and roll had a very large portion of rice on it, making it almost dry (same for the nigiri). I gave it a three for the kindness as well as the atmosphere.

Oh man, Camon is the tops. I forget just how incredible they are then I go back and I realize I should really go there more often. The sushi selection is outstanding but they also have other entrees so you dont have to worry if there are members of your party that dont like sushi. The atmosphere is nice and quiet and the staff is amazing. I could go on forever but just go there and Im sure youll agree. Absolutely a must visit in Columbia.

I read a lot of reviews about long wait times. I did not experience this at my dinner. It is not fast food so understandably it is not out in a jiffy but by no means did I wait an unreasonable amount of time. I was very pleased with the taste of the fish in my Sashimi Combination Dinner. The Salmon with a thin slice of lemon is my new favorite! The Japanese rice was perfectly executed. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

My husband and I ate here for the first time in several years and once again it was as good as it gets. The food was excellent. I had Spider Roll and it was oh so good. Luther had Tempura Udon and it was light and delicious. The food was oh fresh, clean and the very, very good. The staff if friendly, courteous and helpful. You can go casual or more formal and it would be fine. You will enjoy it.

Good atmosphere, good food, polite staff, but SLOW SERVICE. It took over 25 minutes just to get some soup, and over an hour and a half to get our entree; which was a dish that is served raw, and cooked at the table. Considering the good reviews, I did not expect the service at this establishment to be this slow. Do not eat here if you expect to be in and out for a meal for two within a couple hours.

Always delicious. Came for the first time with our 7 month old, who was welcomed and had a great introduction to sushi! The chef cut his cucumber roll into baby-friendly pieces , sent him a complimentary baby roll, plus they had clean highchairs, and didnt mind that he made a bit of a mess. We had been a little hesitant about bringing him, but will be returning. Highly recommend - family friendly!

We arrived just as they had finished a large party, and the staff seemed a little frazzled, but still... Wait to sit and wait for food was unnaturally long even though place was half empty, decor was quaint but tired and needed a scrubbing and a freshening up, and the food was just ok. I am rarely disappointed by a Google maps rating over 4.5*, but tonight I was. Would not repeat.

I will admit I have never had the actual Japanese dishes, but the sushi is the best in town hands down. Tsunami tries, but they serve mediocre quality at expensive prices. The others arent even in the same quality par. Camon has THE BEST SUSHI in town. The dragon roll is absolutely awesome

Was unreal. I read the reviews and decided to give it a try. When I arrived, I was having second thoughts but as soon as I stepped through the rice paper door, I was sold. Everything from the service, food and ambiance was exceptional! Some of the best Japanese food I have ever had!

If you "know" sushi then RUN AWAY (or order subway)! I have lived in NYC, London and now Copenhagen, Denmark. Luckily that means Ive eaten some fantastic sushi in my time. This by comparison was the worst yet. The fish smelled and tasted like... fish. And for $55! Wow. Bummer.

Best sushi in this city. Service is great. The owner is behind the bar creating the amazing artistic plates. Everyone is very friendly. Price is on spot for the quality. Cheap sushi doesnt always mean good or fresh. Traditional quiet atmosphere. A must go to spot.
