This is the closest thing to authentic Korean dining Ive experienced since living in Korea when I was 10 years old!! You order the seasoned meat you want and they bring it to your table (raw) to cook on the grill at the center of the table. All I wanted was Bulgogi and lettuce leaves to wrap them in--like I was used to eating. Its so hard to find a restaurant that provides both of those things. Sura Korean BBQ was happy to provide the lettuce leaves when I asked, and when I also asked for garlic to grill alongside the meat they brought out shaved garlic cloves (just like the restaurants in Korea!) There is a choice between cooked white rice and what they call "purple rice." I went with purple rice because its a fun color. I cant taste any difference. They even had a variety of side dishes (two types of kimchi, pickled radish chopped long and thin like spaghetti noodles, ginger salad, and tasty bean sprouts) to partake while waiting for the meat to be brought out. Im so happy to have found this place! Fair warning: we needed a bit of an orientation before placing our order. We arrived at the restaurant after the busy hours, so the waitress didnt seem to feel rushed when explaining the menu to us. Theres a difference between ordering All-You-Can-Eat (starting at $25 per person) and ordering a selection (recommended serving of 2 people) and we were confused at first until she explained. (Our server was Grace and she was very kind and helpful and knowledgeable) She kept coming back to the table to help us cook the meat. (Other servers would stop by as well to stir the meat and refill our drinks) The drinks offered were bottled, and I didnt see diet options on the menu. I just went with water. The table has metal chopsticks and a metal spoon at each setting when you arrive, but if that intimidates you the staff offered forks very quickly. Overall, we LOVED this restaurant and will definitely bring back our friends!

So I never thought I had to write a review about this particular business but they overdone it this time. Went out to a friends birthday last night. Our group was about 15 people. My friend had already reserved a week ahead. To be honest, reserving a week doesnt make a difference about the service. In terms of service, I meant being prepared for a big group. When I got there, we were placed in the center of the room. Worst seating already to begin with. They had a big back table. Im not sure why they didnt place us there. Our friends were a little bit late but I dont think that matters because they wait for us to order anyways. When we did order, they bought out 2 platters of meat, twice the whole night. Before even ending our dinner, they did not ask if we were done. First of all, we all are paying 35-40 bucks each. We did not come to eat 4 platters of meat. Wth! Im not sure if there was a time limit for a big group but from past experience, I never had to deal with that at a "All You Can Eat". We also not pig either. Just wanted to put that into perspective; 4 platters of meat for 15 people!?? Thats crazy little. When it came to slicing the birthday cake, one of the girl( so rude by the way) just throws a butter knife at the table. The way she threw it was so disrespectful. If they had cameras in the business, pretty sure they would have caught it on camera. Honestly, I dont think she is fit for this kind of job. Overall, my experience was horrible. Probably will go back in a few months to come. But will go back and get my moneys worth.

Went on my birthday. Was not pleased with the staff at all. First timer so we asked a lot of questions regarding their menu. We thought he explained thoroughly but he didnt. Very pricey for limited portions especially when it was all you can eat. We got the long table because it was a big party. We asked if the rice was included with the price and he told us yes, but we couldnt waste. Thinking that it was trays full of meat, which it was not. The catch was you can not share but since we had 2 grills going my side of the table couldnt share with the other side even though we got the same "package". Assuming the food was going to come out in different plates (it did not). We had a few pieces of beef flanks, a mushroom cut in half, and that was suppose to be for 10 people? I thought since we had to pay $20+ a person we would get our own but we didnt, when the server said its a "no sharing policy" we just thought it was a big portion. We definitely got screwed when the bill came out. Oh might I add we left still hungry because that was all that we were being served. 2 plates for 10 people and we got served twice. Will not be going back!!!!!!!

Im a sucker for Korean food, especially Bibimbap. Bibimbap is a signature Korean dish that any Korean restaurant worth its weight should do right. Its rice, vegetables and meat with a fried egg on top. It arrives steaming with a spicy red sauce that you squirt on top before mixing. Although I told my boyfriend I would not order the Bibimbap at Sura, I could not help myself. The Bibimbap arrived steaming with a bubbling white mess on the side. After a few pokes, I realized that mess was poached egg whites. Thats when I realized that something was wrong. The beef was cut in huge strips and the red sauce wasnt nearly as spicy as it should be and the authentic flavors from the seasonings were missing. My boyfriend had the unfortunate experience of ordering Bibimbap for the first time. We did go with another couple. One of them order a seafood dish that he said was not as spicy as it should be and his boyfriend ordered the seafood pancake, which looked delicious and he enjoyed. Judging from this one experience, Sura is a bland mess. I suspect they took out all the Korean goodness to make it palatable for Americans. What a shame.

Food seems to be more or less ok, but the service people are terrible. They added the gratuity on the bill (we were 5 people) on the itemized bill, which was on the back side. And on the front side (Merchant Copy) there was a line for tip. They did not inform us of that the tip is already included. I gave 20% tip on the top of the tip they already added without knowing that the tip is already included. None of those people told us that we double paid the tip. Pure cheater. I feel I am just robbed.

If youre looking to eat a lot of meat, this is a great place to get a lot of bang for your buck. The meat quality is good, not great, but you do get as much of it as you want. I liked that I could try some meats that Ive never tried before, and theyve all been good. The sides are a bit hit and miss though. The jeon was delicious but the soondubu jjigae was pretty flavorless. Ive been there more than once and with the drive being 1.5 hours, I think thats a sign I enjoyed myself there.
