Went in here with a my girlfriend & co-worker since we work in the area. Was really looking forward to grabbing a decent dinner. Instead we walked in to half eaten food at the host seat with no host. Mostly because the host was to busy talking to someone at the bar on the otherside of the floor. Now I understand everyone needs to eat but we didnt need to see that as soon as we walked in that wasnt a great first impression. The host also seemed to busy talking to someone at the bar instead of notifying the wait staff (who appeared to be busy dragging a table n chairs into the kitchen so they could eat ) that we had been seated and were ready to at least order drinks. We waited for 5 mins (I timed it) and were never approached by wait staff. You might think well maybe they were busy, it was a raining Wednesday night, they had about 6 people sitting at the bar and only 2 or 3 tables had people at them who had already been served and 2 unflipped tables still had not been cleaned so you be the judge. Needless to say we were extremely disappointed, especially because we work so close to the location but I refuse to beg someone to take my order even more so when Im paying for my food. I will not be going back and I will be sharing my experience with my co-workers as well. ****** Update ****** A coworker forced me to go with her to pick up her to-go order. Things have changed. Staff are more attentive to guest then when I last went. I didnt order anything so I cant speak on the food but things appear to be on the up swing.

This pub on the corner across from both 30th Street Station and the IRS building is often visited by rail travelers looking for a drink and a bite during extended layovers. Just a block away from Drexel University, youll also find students, professors, and administrators alike drop in for the occasional discussion or celebration. Slainte is your standard Irish Pub with a classic dark wood finish. Seating is plentiful, both at the bar and at one of the many tables. Large parties are usually well accommodated in the rear of the bar, where events (such as painting with wine) are occasionally held. Bartenders here are great and the wait staff is consistently friendly and upbeat. The entire staff is incredibly accommodating. Food here is great. You cant go wrong with the appetizers, which are $5 during happy hour. Burgers are always a good choice and the Salmon Caesar Salad is a great bet if youre shooting for something healthy. Those looking for something more in the Irish spirit should try the Shepherds Pie or Bangers and Mash. If you find yourself in Philadelphia for a few hours by way of the train and need to kill some time, Slainte is a colorful and fun place to have a good experience or two before youre on your way.

During a stop over at the 30th Street Train Station we asked where would be a good place to eat. We had eaten at the station previously and hadnt had a good experience. Someone recommended us to Sláinte, and we walked over. Rachel, the waitress was right there as soon as we walked in the door, sat us down and brought us our water and menus. The service was excellent, she was on top of things, refilling our glasses when needed, and she was very courteous and attentive. The food was terrific, and we were glad we had been told about it, since we had a very good experience.

The decor is great there but the food is yuck. I had the turkey club with a cranberry sauce, said the menu....that was dry....used my kids honey mustard to give it some taste....thick stale like what roll as well. The Bay fries was like someone just went crazy on under cooked fries. I know this is extreme but within 30 minutes I needed the bathroom and again in 3 hours. Loved the look of the place but $40 for three lunches and a colon cleanse it was not worth $5. Maybe I lost weight...good thing?

Right by Phillys Amtrak/bus station so if you are looking to waste some time and get a good drink, stop by Slainte. Food portion size is huge. I ordered a burger and fries and I couldnt finish the whole thing. Burger was cooked perfectly. No complaints whatsoever. And the place was relatively cheap. We had food and drinks for 2 of us and the bill was around 40 dollars. Everybody was cool from the bartender to the locals. Will stop by again.

Overall, good experience. But, if you are expecting real bangers & mash you will be sorely disappointed. Dried out/overcooked breakfast links do not qualify as real irish bangers. Knocked down two stars for that, but bumped it back up one based on how the waitress handled it. Sent them back and got fish & chips instead , which was *very* good. Two thick & flakey filets, not overly battered and really tasty. Went great with my Boddingtons.

High potential, low imagination. Cutesy Irish decor, mediocre food. My steak salad was light on greens and included two leaves that were in the almost-liquid stage of decay. Chewy dinner roll. Beer selection heavy on watery beers and 8 light varieties. Did have some mainstream "craft" beers. I had a Dogfish 60 min IPA. Overall disappointing, but lotsa potential.

First time here. Good Irish bar vibe. Great beers and service is on point. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because I thought the food wasnt that great. I was kinda upset. The burger was a frozen patty and the fries were cold. But I would come back for sure. Just only order those $5 appetizers.

I love pubs, and this is a good one. They are very convenient if you are taking the train from the 30th street station and better than anything inside the station. We had the french dip and a couple burgers. All were very good. The service was good and the prices fair. Definitely would go back.

Service was decent, though we waited a long time for any refills. The food was lacking. Out of our party of 6, 4 of us ordered burgers and they were all over done. When one was sent back it came back just as bad as before if not worse. Overall not the best restaurant Ive been to.

Happy hour appetizers are delicious and cheap. A five dollar serving of their awesome fries will satisfy two, or cause joyful gastric distress for one. The friendly staff and economically priced drinks generally alleviate any gratuitous cheese induced stomach issues.

One of my favorite pubs to go for drinks/dancing. On the weekends it is always super crowded and gets to the point where it is too crowded, but before that point its awesome.
