I have been to Sketch before for a milkshake and fries but tried a burger for the first time today. I ordered the regular sirloin burger rare with american cheese, grilled onions and aioli, as well as an order of small fries and a soda. Overall, it was a great lunch. The temperature was correct, the sauce added the right amount of sloppy, fatty goodness, onions were caramelized to sweetness, and the bun was a tasty sponge for my bloody mayo. The burger was above average; it definitely beats out the other local gastropubs. If I were to split hairs I would say the meat could use more seasoning to bring it up to par with the likes of Dumont Burger in Brooklyn or even South Philly Taprooms cheeseburger. Ive noticed reviews complaining about the price point. My lunch came to $12.75. If you were going to one of the other local bars with the same type of burger you would pay more for less quality. Dont go here expecting pizza joint prices, but it is by no means a splurge if you order with some common sense. The burger starts out at $6.50...you are only going to break the $10 point if you OVERload it with toppings or go for the kobe. There is also someone who waits on tables now. Both the cook and server were warm and friendly.

Its really expensive for what you get. Yes, the burgers are huge, but still... Its a dollar for cheese and if you want a topping, that is a dollar as well. I believe that their toppings should be free because it seems that the burger is already overpriced (the cheapest is $6.5). And $6.5 for just a burger is pretty expensive! Sometimes they will throw in a cheap-o bag of chips. Also, for a place that is supposed to specialize in burgers, they NEVER get the temperature right. I dont believe that asking for a medium burger is a large feat, but somehow they always overcook it and its well done. So thats also disappointing when youre paying a lot of money and they dont even cook it to your request. Why bother asking how you want it? Dont get me wrong though, I still keep returning because the burgers are delicious. And then I feel guilty afterwards for wasting the money when I couldve made delicious burgers for myself for a lot less.... and cooked them correctly.

Okay- So used to live across the street from this place so one day a friend and I decided to go in quickly before going out. I ordered a chicken sandwich and my friend ordered a burger. It was served to us with the bun open, so you could assemble the sandwich yourself. It looked so delicious and i was so excited to eat, but when I picked up the top half of the bun, I saw three tiny BUGS crawling around. I was so hungry but grossed out and couldnt put my mind over the matter. THE WORST PART- When i told the waitress I found bugs in my food, I told her I wasnt paying for it, and she asked me if i wanted anything else. No apologies, and the whole thing was very hush hush. My friend took a few more bites of his food but was worried he was also eating the tiny bugs. When I paid- still no apologies were given-or an explanation. The whole thing seemed so shady..like they were used to bugs in the food. To be honest they looked like tiny roaches. DONT EAT HERE!!!

Can be amazing but not consistently enough for a higher review. When its good, its the best burger youll find anywhere in the greater Philadelphia area. Its just only that good about 1 of every 3 times. If you dine in youll get your fries 20 minutes before your burger which doesnt work for people like me that want to eat them together. That being said the fries are fantastic and pair really well with the sauces offered. As far as consistency, I often get food from here for my girlfriend and I and we can order the same burger cooked to the same wellness and they wont resemble each other at all. The last time we got for from here, a few days ago, the burgers were unrecognizable as being from sketch far from the best weve had there. We keep coming back on the chance well catch them at their best which is an overwhelmingly satisfying experience, but for the price were let down more often than not.

I went to sketch burger with pretty high hopes; but I left fairly disappointed. I was there with a vegan friend and they found their bean burger pretty satisfying but I had a turkey burger that was pretty blah borderline bad. I know I cant expect TOO much from a turkey burger but it honestly had no flavor. Ive never eaten something so bland. I dont even think they salted it. On top of the disappointing food I cant believe how expensive it is. They charge you an entire dollar for really basic toppings like onions (or cheese). It was absurd that it cost me 9 dollars for a small turkey burger without cheese (before tax and tip) At the end of the day Sketch is a cool little joint that probably has great food, but their turkey burger sucks and if they cant make it taste good they should take it off the menu (oh and lower your prices).

Amazing, mouthwatering comfort food with a flare is what youll find at Sketch! In an unassuming venue with crayon art work designed by visiting patrons, vintage church pews and vibrantly painted walls you will find pulled pork to die for, ribs that can compete with the best of southern fare, and mac and cheese (my personal favorite) that rivals moms homemade. And thats not even the best part! Personal, passionate service offered in a way that only an owner can... we were visited by the chef who brought us a sample of her ribs slow cooked over night with a little hot mustard and a smile. Superb!

This place is definitely a hole in the wall. They have amazing burgers, in fact its very well reviewed by many publications. The sweet potato fries are the best, Ive been to several other burger shops in Philly and Boston, and this still comes out on top. The atmosphere in the place is original too, the walls are covered by "sketches" by people while they are sitting waiting for the food. Oh, and dont miss out on the phenomenal milkshakes that they have. Peanut butter milkshake with solid chunks of peanut butter!

This place is awesome. I lined my burger. One of the best burgers Ive ever tasted. It was definitely hand pattied. The burger was full of flavor and juicy. The fries was delicious. We had the ribs/mac & cheese. It was good, but Ive tasted better, as in much. It wasnt crowded, but did as we sat a little Longer. The waitress, although busy, was very pleasant and she was a good waitress. Im going back to this place!

The food is great. They used to be more vegetarian and vegan friendly but they got rid of the seitan :( they got rid of their salads. the prices are a little high too. I dont like the fact they charge about 8 to 9 bucks for a burger and a extra dollar for cheese I think at that price it should be free. The idea of drawing while eating is pretty cool.. I do recommend this place.
