The hype is real. I came here after a day trip to the Philadelphias Magic Garden from New York. Hot, tired and hungry, we walked for a few minutes and arrived around 1pm on a Sunday. We got seats immediately and started off with some cups of coffee. Need a breakdown of what to get? - Glory cakes with strawberry and bananas ($9): get it! - Pecan waffles with peach butter ($9): get it! - Neighborhood frittata ($12): get it! First off, the glory cakes were hands down the best pancakes Ive ever had. It comes with 3 pancakes and real maple syrup. Fluffy with sprinkles of powdered sugar on the outside and moist on the inside. It especially went well not only with the maple syrup but also with the peach butter that came with the pecan waffles, which reminds me.. I loved the crunch of the pecans that came with every bite. I couldnt stop munching on it! As for the neighborhood frittata, it came with roasted red peppers, spinach and provolone. I ordered it with a side of potatoes (you get to pick salad or potatoes), which went perfectly with their homemade ketchup. I basically drenched the frittata and potatoes in their ketchup--it was that good. We also got the monkey french toast ($10) but it was a bit disappointing and we liked it the least out of all the dishes we ordered. Its stuffed with caramelized mangoes and bananas, topped with caramel sauce and whipped cream--a bit too sweet and a bit too dense for me. The place has an old-school breakfast diner vibe with limited seats. I wouldnt recommend coming here with more than 4 people. Also, it closes early at 3pm every day and accepts cash only! My friends and I stayed a bit over their closing time but they didnt rush us out. Service is quick, staff are friendly. Would I come here again? Heck yes. Id be interested to try some of their other dishes the next time Im around the area.

Normally, my husband and I rave about Morning Glory (honestly we even dared to say that we liked it more than Sabrinas, which we regret saying now). But after today, weve changed our mind. The hostess/waitress ruined their reputation for us. We were in the midst of eating with our plates full and she handed us the check. How did she know we werent going to order anything else? She never asked how it was or if we wanted anything else. She slammed the bill on the table w/o a word. When we took a look at it, we were overcharged for our meals. So, we asked her why we were overcharged and she said "I dont know" and walked away. She eventually returned with a new check and no words. It was horribly rude customer service. Oh and the tofu scramble is bad. Im disappointed in how we were treated. Were heading back to Sabrinas from now on, where the servers are respectful and the food is unbeatable.

Im going to have to agree with the rude staff comments in other reviews. The host in particular was quite condescending and could use a class or 2 on hospitality. I felt very unwelcome. My waiter was okay, didnt get his name and he wasnt personable what so ever. He seemed overwhelmed although there were only about 5 tables occupied. The food was okay, nothing really that great. I made no modifications to my order so it came out as expected. HOWEVER, the lack of real ketchup is a big minus in my book. they only have "homemade ketchup" which is a watery red sauce that tasted terrible and resembled a runny marinara. The menu is "meh" for a lack of a better word and consisted of $4 bacon and items you could make yourself at home. Go to Sabrinas Cafe 2 blocks away, youll be much happier with your decision. plus, they arent cash only like Morning Glory Disappointment.

We went to Morning Glory for a late brunch on Saturday and while there was a wait it was well worth it. The food was GREAT - I had a simple steak and eggs that came with potatoes and it was heavenly. Others at my table order the baked omelettes and I will definitely try those out next time they were seasoned well and smelled delicious. The service was not bad but also nothing to write home about - also this place is cash only (which they should really make more evident) but there is an ATM across the street. I would certainly recommend Morning Glory to anyone jonesing for excellent diner food at reasonable prices. Just make sure to get your name on their list right away when you arrive and expect at least a 20 minute wait.

Very popular and busy diner in Bella Vista section of South Philadelphia. Large menu with the usual diner fare and a lot of delicious specialty items. The portion sizes are substantial. Even when busy, the servers are attentive and the service is prompt. Sitting at the counter, you can watch the short order cook move in what is almost high speed choreographed fashion preparing and plating the orders coming non-stop. The seating is limited and on the weekends at least, theres almost always a wait to get in especially after around 9 to 9:30. Be sure to add your name and number of people in your party to the pad right outside the door and then have a seat in the outside patio area until your name is called.

Average breakfast place at best, but 2 breakfasts + coffee and orange juice costed us $40. 3 pieces of French Toast for $9, which by the way tasted EXACTLY like the French Toast I got days earlier from the to-go section from Whole Foods sitting under a french fry lamp. $3 for a single patty of breakfast sausage. Total dud. 1 hr wait and $40 for food no better than IHOP. At least our server was good. 2 stars for the price and having expensive average breakfast food. 1 star if the service wasnt great. But then again, I knew the server (friend in common), so we may have received preferential tx.

Ok. The food was good. Inside it was horribly hot. a couple rickety fans running. And although the food was good it was horribly overpriced. I had the monkey french toast and my friend had two eggs over easy with toast and we each had a coffee, this ran us around 30 dollars and with tip it was like a 40 dollar breakfast you could get at a Diner for half the price. Somewhere hipsters go cause it is kitschy somewhat. They serve you two kinds of hot sauce, not even ketchup! It is just insanity... anyway ok food but I will prob not go back anytime soon.

Cash-only diner. My partner and I are here every 2 weeks or so for Sunday brunch, and they never disappoint. We wanted to write a review because how often we come here and how much we love it. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. The wait can be rather long depending on your party size and how early you get here, but if its a small party, youll be seated in a timely manner, and its first come first serve list basis. The place is cozy and loud, so be ready for people running around. The food is awesome and not to be missed.

This place continues to serve fresh food at reasonable prices. They never compromise quality ingredients to deliver made to order real food regardless of food cost. Their menu always reflects the integrity and creativity of the chef and the amazing cooks who staff the place. As for the service, I find that treating the them with respect and consideration reaps the same level of accommodation. I love that most of their staff are accomplished artists. " Food is a celebration of life and Morning Glory is a part of that celebration".
