One of my favorite places to eat in the city... Im leaving a five star review because they deserve it, but more importantly because, I dont understand some of you customers that leave bad reviews on restaurants for things like a wait time... What in the Hell is the restaurant suppose to do if they are packed with customers, kick people out so you can sit down and eat, if you dont want to wait, LEAVE... Go to one of the million fast food chains in the city, you want restaurant experience, with drive thru service, WAKE UP!!!! Also if your food took a while to come out, dont you see that the damn place is packed, I mean they are selling real cooked food and not microwaveable tv dinners, use your common sense people... Also cash only, well wake the Hell up George Jetson, we are not in the future and paper money has gone extinct, if you know this place is cash only then prepare yourself for that. Question, when its raining out and your getting wet because you dont have an umbrella, who do you get mad at, is it God/Mother Nature for bringing down the rain, or yourself for not having an umbrella because you didnt take the time out to check the weather.. Its called PREPARING yourself people... Freaking spoiled brat customers who want everything to be perfect because God forbid you have to use that thing called a brain... Also this one right here, it was too pricey or expensive, I see those dollar menus got your frame of mind all twisted, if you cant afford it, STAY THE HELL HOME!!!! You have to fit them into your budget, not the other way around... Oh, and what about the moron customers who complain that they got TOO MUCH FOOD.. What in the Hell did you just say, too much food, are you some special kind of stupid... Take it the Hell home and eat it later you moron, or give it to a homeless person in need... Sometimes I wonder why in Hell or how in the Hell does anyone want to be in the restaurant business, because the worse part about it is actually the CUSTOMERS!!!! Not all of them, just the ignorant ones who complain about stuff like this because they have no idea why this is one of the worse businesses to be in... Im not defending all restaurants, but that bullcrap about the customer is always right, has paved the path for a whole new level of unprecedented stupidity to come about!!!

The food was great but the service was HORRIBLE! I came in on Palm Sunday with 3 other people and my son. After a hour and a half wait we were finally seated. The waiter came and took our drink orders. The drinks took 15 minutes to come on top of that we asked for straws and NEVER got them. The whole time we ate. And we asked several people for it. While being seated the waitress (accidentally) pulled the chair from under my son and he fell on the floor she and didnt give a real apology. He was fine but I would have thought because of the they would have been very attentive to us.....not! We finally got our food after another 45 min. The food was absolutely delicious. Portion size was good too. My son however did not like his grilled cheese because it had a tomato paste on it and when we requested another one w/o the paste we were given a very unfavorable attitude. Eventually the owner came out and brought us another one but by that time everyone was finished eating and ready to go. The waitress went to pour water and spilled it over my sons food and the table. I was so frustrated we paid the check and left. Overall the food was good (I gave my son mine) but the service or lack thereof was appalling.

Got there around noon on this cold, rainy Sunday. Were in from WV visiting so we were going to wait as long as needed. Luckily, 2 spots at the bar opened after only about 20 mins. This place was PACKED. The Fire Marshall sign on the wall stated only 49 person legal occupancy but Im pretty sure there was close to double that (most of the people were waiting to be seated). The wait is WORTH IT! I had the shrimp & grits & ordered a side of the hand cut fries because Im a fryoholic. Both were fantastic. My S.O. had the chicken & waffles. Also fantastic! He had the salted caramel latte & I had the creme brulee latte. I was so full I had to get a to-go container. I felt so bad for the wait staff because they were running CONSTANTLY trying to keep up. They did an excellent job. NB: Seems like a hang out for the citys "hipster" crowd so expect to be subjected to rude, self-absorbed people. Took us 5 minutes to get from the bar to the door just to leave because the people waiting for tables didnt want to let us by.

This plaace is only a good when you are not starving... Every time I come here the food takes 30-40+ minutes to come. Most of the time it is very easy things to make as well. From someone who worked in a kitchen it should not take 30-40 minutes to make an omelette and a burito... Also whatever you do, do NOT order a soda. I like to enjoy a glass of soda with my meal. Yet they do not have a soda fountain, instead you get a small 8oz bottle of coke for $2!!! The first time I recieved this I was BLOWN AWAY!!!! I finished the small bottle in almost one go and then there are no free refills. Even though the bottle does give the soda a different taste, please offer a choice!! Overall the food is good but I have had better, the service is ok and food takes forever. I will continue to go here to eat because I like the place but I feel like there are a few things this place NEEDS to improve on in order for me to LOVE it.

This place is genuinely wonderful. The wait staff have been consistently knowledgeable and helpful since I started eating here around 3 years ago. Best breakfast food in Philadelphia. Honest opinion. Strikes a delicate balance between organic fair, creativity, and simple good old dinner food. Nails it. Where with many brunch establishments I leave feeling oily and gross, here I am continually impressed by the kitchens ability to produce light yet deliciously complex dishes. You cant go wrong with any of the Eggs Benedict options. Likewise, vegan patrons will fall in love with the Vegan French Toast. Certainly worth giving Green Eggs a visit if you havent already, but be prepared to wait for a table on the weekends. If you find yourself particularly impatient, perhaps its worth calling ahead. They wont take a reservation, but at least youll know what to expect.

While I understand what others like about green eggs, its not to my personal taste. Ive eaten at each of their locations once, abs each time I have the same mixed feelings: A) service is great, friendly and professional. B) the portions are huge (which is good or bad, depending)and I think tend to be overly sweet- even savory things like the sausage gravy in "the kitchen sink". Id really say its a matter of personal taste, not that theyre doing anything wrong. My partner and I split a "kitchen sink" and couldnt finish it between the two of us. Which, again, is a mixed bag. I would recommend other places such as Honeys sit n eat or cafe la Maude for a similarly decadent brunch executed just a little bit better. This review is kind of unfocused, sorry. Im still not 100% decided on how I feel about green eggs.
