I was looking forward to support black owed business on my only day off but got the worst experience in history! Also embarrass that I didnt listen to my friend & went to Fridays! When I entered they came off nice but after we received our food every thing went left all because the chicken was not done & shrimp was not done! The girl that worked the front was disrespectful to me & my group by saying I must like my shrimp rubbery! & the sever was trying his hardest to keep us happy but he tried to hard by putting his foot in his mouth over & over again! He said she should have said she wanted her chicken well done! But he never asked but besides that IT WASNT FULLY DONE! He took the shrimp & gave it a fried out side layer when I wanted sautee thanks for trying 3xs but the chef just needs a day off to master it! So now its check time and he told me he dont deal with the check the lady in the front do so BE NICE

The food was amazing but here were the problems 1. A wall partition fell on my friend and they didnt even apologize or help her. (another customer had to help her) 2. We sat there for 45 minutes with no water or beverage of any kind 3. Under "Pancakes and French Toast" on the menu they have a Bananas Foster option. 1st they had to confirm if they had bananas, then I was told it only came as french toast, but they would make it as pancakes as a special request for me. So why have it under "Pancakes and French Toast" if its not an option for both? 4. Made me wait for my grits and bacon after everyone else had their food for like 10 minutes.

The service I wouldnt say THE BEST as in attentiveness and energy, one of the young girls who works there seem annoyed and tired lol.. Maybe that was jus on the day I encountered them, but overall they were good enough.. Now the food!! French Toast (Great) Fried chicken wings (great) Home Fries (weak) Eggs (good) Cheese grits (great). I didnt have any of the specialty pancake or the fish n grits so we will see.. That French toast can stand up to Mikes breakfast on Front st. (Olney) and I feel Mikes got other spots by a LONG SHOT as far as French Toast.. So thats saying something...

The service was horrible. There was a bug and my cup and took forever to get a new cup. Food was okay but it took awhile for it to be done as requested. Then we were falsely accused of being short $20. After the table busser picked up our money up and she dropped it behind the counter. Then the server ran out to harass us about being short on the bill. This was so embarrassing!!!! We went in and they found it behind the counter the busser was so rude and unprofessional. She was at fault! This was my first and last time going here. Not worth the hassle.

Ordered the shrimp and grits hesitantly because its rare that I find good cheese grits. These did not disappoint. Flavorful and a great texture. Shrimp were also good. Not overdone. Just right. Service was good as well. Aesthetically and structurally the place itself could be improved. Was hesitant to visit because of how it looked but Im glad I gave it a try. Good sweet tea as well.

I ordered the stuffed French toast and a side of bacon. The French toast stuffing was a delicious cream cheese icing topped with strawberries but the French toast was very dry. If theyre going to serve thick slices then it might be a good idea to cut the bread in half and soak them in the batter. The bacon was very crispy which I liked but three strip for $2:50 is very overpriced.

I really havent had a bad experience here. This is one place that both my husband and l consider our "go to" favorite breakfast spots! My favorite meal is chicken wings, with or without a waffle! I have no complaints about the food or the service! We first met Hannah whom weve come to adore! We have since met Rebecca and Brian who are also very warm and welcoming.

I just got the platter with 3 eggs and a choice of meat.... And of home fries.... everything was horrible and despicable no seasoning the grits were cold and hard not smooth at all.... they didnt put any silverware and my bag not napkins not salt and pepper and they had a nerve to forget my toast I will not be returning back there.... Everything was poor....

My boyfriend and I found this wonderful treat on Google we decided to give it a try. It was amazing from the happy and helpful staff to the delicious homemade food. We loved it so much we went to the second location on north broad st which was just as good if not better to Im so glad we found them. just as wonderful if not

Horrible! Wish I had gotten up and cooked myself. Waffles were not fully done they were so light in color that I wish I had sent them back which was a thought. I read that the fish and grits were good so I tried it, lacked soul and comfort. I was disappointed with the overall experience. A waste of money 5/13/16.

I love the fact that its a black owned business. Although it is a bit tight in the front they do have a big table in the back for a larger party!! It smells like lovely mint when you walk in which makes it feel relaxing!! The food is amazing and even the presentation of the food was beautiful!!

This place could be great! The food was good, but the service and attitude of the staff sucked! They act like they are doing you a favor, by you spending your money! Word to the wise treat your customers as you would treat your money. Without them you wont have any, so whos doing who a favor???

I got the salmon cakes and grits it came wit 1 salmon cake which was fine but i ordered another 1 and was charged full price and a side of eggs my order came to a woopin 28$ way to expensive for breakfast for 1 person and they was even good the onions in the salmon cakes was almost raw

Slow Service, cramped environment & unorganized .....I ordered 20 minutes ahead of time over the phone i got there to find out they never put my order in I had to sit there and wait for an hour for my food then when I received my food it wasnt the complete order

The red velvet pancakes were delicious, and the lemonade well put it to you this way you cant jusr drink one glass!!!! Very clean and nice establishment very now staff and to boit the good is goid also. They actually know how to scramble eggs light.....lol

First visit, visited based on positive reviews. Small place, food made from scratch it appears, long wait for food but they were at capacity. We ordered French toast, and jerk chicken waffle. It was delicious, will go back for more.
