I went to Memphis last night with six guests. The food was good and the staff was great. Yes, the staff is very accomodating and attentive. However the background music was way too loud, making conversation at the table difficult. Why is it that music always has to blast in a restaurant, making conversation a challenge? Music volume should be subtle and low not blasting rock concert style. Memphis could also use some votive candle lights on the tables in the restaurant. For diners it would be good if the staff included baskets of bread or chips while diners wait for their food. Some of the male customers at Memphis looked pretty goofy eating in their hats. In Europe men dont eat in restaurants with their hats on. Why do goofy 20-somethings eat with clownish knit caps on their heads? All in all I liked Memphis and I will go back, but when we return we will confiscate the knit hats and bring votive candles!

We were here on 07/24/2017 Just after opening. I immediately noticed how clean the establishment was. We were immediately greeted by the bartender and took a seat at the bar. My wife and I are far from vegetarians, but we ordered a tufu sandwich for me and a quinoa burger for her. Both were excellent. The beer selection is above normal with all craft selections. Prices were lower than anticipated for a city bar. The staff is friendly and the neighborhood felt safe. I would recommend this establishment.

The three components to a great bar are service, beer, and food. This is what Memphis Taproom has to offer. The servers are knowledgeable and friendly. Able to point you into the right direction for anyone who likes me has a difficult time picking out the right beer. You cant go wrong with anything on the menu. The dill pickles, the wings, and the pulled porked sandwiches are all favorites of mine. I highly recommend stopping in MT after a long day at work for some beers and some spears (pickles that is). Horrible , took the staff 15 mins to acknowledge us and give us menus without mentioning the special , we got served after 1 whole hour over cooked fish with raw batter . We ordered fish and chips we got served fish and burnt fries . When it comes to the bill , the bill was dropped off and slashed from our table after 2 min to get rectified although they rectified the bill they overcharged us anyway . We had a bad experience

Food here is SO GOOD. I come here on my birthday, partially as a present, and partially because their vegetarian food is just as good as their non-veg fare. Smoked coconut club is a masterpiece of a sandwich. Cheese plate is usually excellent, and beer selection is outstanding. Staff has always been great (even when its NOT been my bday!) This is a must-go. Especially when the outdoor section is open.

Amazing! Memphis Taproom has it all. When they first opened this quaint gastropob nestled in a Kensignton neighborhood I was stoked. The food is inventive and delicious. It can please both meat eater and vegan alike. The beer rotation is some of the best in town. The smoked coconut club is so good. Beer battered pickles are my favorite. With the addition of the beer garden, memphis cant be beat

One of the really nice things about this place is that the servers are very familiar with the food and the beers. They are happy to offer a recommendation and are usually spot on. I have gone through half of the menu and have yet to find a dish that I didnt enjoy, if not love. The collared green soup is incredible as well as the peanut butter pie. The beer selection is always good too.

My wife got the chickpea burger and I got the vegan club sandwich. Our omnivorous parents got the roast pork and fried dill pickles. Everything was absolutely outstanding. The smoked coconut on the sandwiches was unbelievable. The beer list is phenomenal. The staff is friendly. I have absolutely no complaints. Awesome location in east Kensington. Highly HIGHLY recommended.

Great night at memphis taproom. Place was full but got a table right away at 7 on a Friday night. Great beer list on hand included some Tired Hands. Loved my food. Kielbasa, pierogies, potato pancakes, and kraut? Dont see that on menus much and it was all great. Wifes mighty memphis burger was great too. Will go back.

Mediocre at best. Bland food. Small tables and obnoxious hipsters talking about their woes. Please please tell me in an unoriginal voice thats not your own about the difficulties of texting your mother. After reading all the reviews before I went I thought I was in for something special. But once again Philly disappoints

Nice place with a food selection of beers and great food. Came here for pliney the younger which was handled very well. I didnt have to wait in line or worry about getting it thanks to the email list and they served it in full glasses. I also had a buffer here which was really great.

Vegan friendly. Reliable spot with multiple vegan items on the menu and always a wide selection of craft beers. The beer garden out back is a great spot during the summer months and the food truck offers a separate menu and great selection of craft cans.

Where else can you order vintage beer? Nowhere, thats where. Id assume that Leigh was super happy the day that Brendan decided to finally clean out the basement. We are the fortunate ones who get to reap the benefits of such an array of cellared beers.

Every Monday-Friday from 4-6pm, Memphis Taproom offers Happy Hour prices on the Beer Garden can list to compliment the regularly scheduled Happy Hour inside the bar! Come out for $4 drafts inside and $3 cans outside, every Monday - Friday from 4-6pm!

This place is so damn pretentious from the bartenders to the customers. The only thing comparable in the area as far as beer selection and food is the Green Rock, with the Green Rock being a hundred times better, more friendly, and laid back.

3 stars as a bar. 2 stars as a restaurant. Decent beer selection. Most food options are either fried or have some other unhealthy component. (Even the watermelon, kale salad had pork belly). Rude, stand-offish wait staff. Wouldnt go back.

Never go here. Youll hate the delicious food, let alone the fantastic beer selection. Almost forgot to mention how put off youll be by the always great service. The chill atmosphere is also going to ruin your day. Sincerely, The Neighborhood

Memphis Taproom is one of my favorite places in Philadelphia. Food is amazing and there is always a great selection of beers. If you want to sample many different ones, ask for "short pours" which is arguably the best deal they have!
