Had a nice family meal here, it was very cozy (not a lot of floor space, but didnt feel pushed against). There was some confusion between who was bringing us drinks/food, so we had multiple people bringing replacement drinks, limes, extra plates which made me feel for the staff who looked like they had to be everywhere at once. I ordered the fried chicken. It was on the border of greasy, not juicy, but it was a great breading. Ordered two pieces of pie for the table and they were quite large, for 5 people, the chocolate cake was gone and the coconut had only a small bit left.

I feel like Norm when I walk into this place - but I act more like Carla. In any case, this neighborhood gem is one I am thankful for. The energy of the staff sometimes outshines the food -- but take that as no detrimental remark. The chef clearly explores new tasteful combinations, and we do enjoy the standard, standing fare. But if it werent for the staff --- and the masterful bartenders who whip up our beloved French Martinis - we would not be the regulars that we are. Heres to Square One!
