To make the reservations, I had to call 3 times before someone answered the phone...that should have been my first clue. We get there and the place is literally empty. Should have been my second clue. The food was substandard and way overpriced. One of our guest had a steak. OMG it was truly awful. It was tough and chewy and had that "I havent clean the grill in 3 months" taste to it and it was sided with a cold (not warm-COLD) baked potato which they graciously took back and threw in the microwave. I must add that this meal was prefaced by a shrimp cocktail that you could smell as soon as it was put on the table. The other guest had a pasta carbonara. The pasta and sauce was thick and pasty and you could pick up half the plate of pasta with one forkful. It may have been salvageable if it tasted good but the bacon used had an odd taste which permeated thru the dish. The third guest had a pasta with pink vodka sauce. There is a fine line between al dente and undercooked.... Im fairly certain they havent found that line yet. All meals were prefaced by a trip to the salad bar. The best I can say is that the apple butter tasty. The salad dressings were watered down. The chicken soup completely lacked any flavor and the bread was micro-sliced and cold. The service was friendly but considering we were the only patrons in the place it was inattentive. It was truly awful. A waste of money and not a place Ill be visiting again.

We frequented this restaurant because it had the best prime rib in the area. Have only been here a few times since the new owners took over, but thought wed give it another try. Note: we dined early this evening. Salad bar was good, fresh, hot rolls were brought to the table. Husband wasnt impressed with the soup. I ordered the 12 oz cut of prime rib as rare as possible. Only half was edible- the rest was fat. Good thing I have a small appetite. The jus, which we remember fondly, was nothing more than beef bouillion and watered down steak sauce- very disappointing. The meat was obviously a lesser grade than it had been in previous years. The wine was good, and we shared a chocolate mousse cake, which was closer to a flourless chocolate cake than mousse, but very nice. Marina, our server, was very nice, and took good care of us. There were complaints from booths near us- someone complained that the prime rib was so tough she couldnt eat it (her server offered to get her something else, but she refused, and then loudly said it was terrible when they left.) Another booth had coupon issues. Would we go back? Probably not. Ah, miss you, Nick!

I guess it depends who you get but Ive never had slow service here. Of course those people who post are going to because the service is just that and they were annoyed but heres a review from someone who has been going for literally 12+ years for special occasions and Ive not *once* had slow service. They have a great selection of Belgian beers--were talking good, corked, Belgian beers not Bluemoon. I personally loved the stuffed mushroom w/ crab meat appetizer, the prime rib is usually always big and tasty, and my favorite desert which I would recommend to everyone is their Chocolate Trouffle Mouse. You can not go wrong with that! Another example of the great service is when you ask for a "side of mushrooms" for your steak you dont get a side you get a HUGE plate full! It was the largest side of mushrooms Ive ever seen. In my opinion their food is slightly expensive but worth it for the quiet and relaxed atmosphere, the friendly service, and the tasty food. Give it a try--its one of Mario Andrettis favorite local places to eat from what Ive heard!

My husband and I went to The Newburg Inn for prime rib, which we thought was one of their specialties. We havent been there in years and wont go back. We both ordered prime rib medium. The salad bar was not very fresh looking and the bread offered there was hard. The plate came out and the prime rib was brown on the outside and almost well done in the middle. Usually prime rib is served pink in the middle and not browned. Mine was not like any other rib I have ever had. It was tough and had an odd taste; The waitress inquired about my satisfaction and took away my plate and replaced it with what was supposed to be from another roast. It was still browned and not much better. I stated it tasted like reheated meat. I also had a baked potato that was barely warm enough to melt the butter. That also tasted like a reheated product. Prime rib is usually very tender and pink when I order it medium. I ate a few bites of the meat and took the rest home for the dog. This was not a good experience and I will not give it another try.

The prime rib was fatty and my stuffed flounder swam in a pool of butter. The service was so so. We ordered a bottle of wine and had to convince our server it would be okay to have a bucket on our table to keep the wine chilled. So what happened to the Newburg Inn? I used to live next door. The food then was amazing and the place was always busy especially on weekends. The restaurant was dead. I kept looking for a sight of the owner who I thought was Luigi Basta. Then I found out he doesnt own it anymore. I felt bad I even thought Mr. Basta would let a place like the Newburg Inn go down the way it is. A man with his experience and conviction would never let the Newburg Inn be run the way it is. I doubt that in a year we will even have to worry about giving reviews to this place. It wont exist.

This place use to be very good... My husband and I had our wedding dinner here... we havent gone for a while and decided that this Valentines day would be a great time to go again... We left there very disappointed... The salad bar area was a mess, the soup tasted like it was campbells. The dinner had no flavor, and I ordered shrimp scampi it came with a cream sauce and I actually added salt which I never do... dont get me wrong it was good but could have been better especially for the price of 23.99... I think from now on we are going to stick with Prime Steakhouse and save ourselves a bunch of money.

All around poor service. Its shame because by the smell outside the food should have been amazing. Hostess was rude and argued about my order that was clearly over cooked. Telling me thats how it was suppose to be. Ha, yeah ok . Over priced burnt food. Needless to say I went down 191 and ate somewhere else after wasting over an hour in a terribly ran restaurant. First and last time Ill go there.

It was pretty quiet for a Friday night and the decor is cool. However the service was horrible. Our server never checked on us and after waiting an hour for our food we decided to leave. We asked about the food and she was said shed be right back and never did. Id like to give it another shot, but itll be a tough sell. For a place that has high prices youd figure theyd be spot on.
