1st time at "The Perk" and after walking in the bar entrance, we finally found the hostess stand. Pros - Nice and clean atmosphere with older photos of local sports teams with hardwood floors, clean windows, neatly spaced decor. My wife, myself, and my toddler enjoyed our first meal. Very impressed with the staff, on how friendly, clear spoken, know the menu, can recommend & explain items, etc. Cons - can get very loud as sounds bounces around, street parking (no lot on site). I had the Walnut Street Burger; burger cooked as requested, freshly made (on site-from what Im told) potato chips, very good and nice presentation. My wife had a chicken caesar wrap and she was impressed with the dressing as it was not overpowering. My daughter, well she loves any food she gets, but a nice kids menu with more than 4 choices too. Bill was reasonable for 3 people. We were so impressed, we went back the next day with my parents. They were even impressed with the Prime Rib. I had a different burger and my wife had a BBQ pork sandwich - very good! Aug-2014

My grandmother and I went here because we heard great things about the place. Maybe my expectations were high because I was disappointed. We did NOT have good service. Our food was good and came out quickly but our waitress stunk. I ordered coffee and would have loved to had a refill but our waitress never came back to ask us how we were doing or if we needed anything else. She checked on other tables about 5 times and kept ignoring us. Needless to say, I never got more coffee. The waitress finally came with our check and asked us if we wanted anything else as she was walking away....not listening to our responses. I was highly disappointed because I took my Grandmother out for her birthday lunch and this was the type of service we got.It was also VERY noisy. Im sure its typically a good spot to grab a bit to eat if you dont have such bad service - this waitress needs to go!

My husband and I enjoyed an amzing dinner at The Perk last night! Our waitress, Lauren, was so nice and helpful. She made some great recommendations that were not on the menu including the bourbon buffalo wings (which i highly recommend) and then a dressed up chocolate cake with icecream, hot fudge and raspberry sauce drizzled on the plate. The specials are always full of flavor. I had the spare ribs flatbread. It was intense with amazing flavor!!! There is no restaurant around to top this place. The atmosphere is great for anybody. The service is always GREAT, and the chefs are true artist with there menu specials. I had a soup request last year for my birthday and they were very happy to make that for me and my family. You cant get this anywhere. No franchise, no diner will come close to the family friendly, people pleasing restaurant like The Perk.

Been to The Perk many times, great place for a sandwich or a nice dinner. Might just be one of the best burgers around. Food is always good and hot. Dont miss the specials, they have some very interesting items you wont find that often. Just be prepared to wait a little while to get a table, this is not a place you just walk into and get a table. There is usually a crowd for dinner, but just put in you name and grab a drink in the bar or sit outside on the benches. After all, do you really want to eat at the place with lots of empty tables? Also be prepared, this is not a quite romantic place. When the place is packed, it can get a little noisy. I see some complaints about the service, I never really had a problem, if I need something and dont see my server, I just stop anybody working there passing by and they alway take care of us.

This is the best restaurant around. Thats not necessarily a huge distinction in and of itself, since its also pretty much the only place around. But the food is great, the prices are great, and the staff is friendly and efficient. The Perk has one of the best happy hours Ive ever seen (1/2 price appetizers and $2 domestic drafts, 9-11 Mon-Thu), and amazing burgers. The only con is that if you go at peak times, you will almost definitely end up waiting for a table. You cant blame a great restaurant for being popular though. Grab a drink at the bar while you wait, thats what I always do. If it werent for The Perk, there wouldnt be a single good place to go eat and drink in this neighborhood.

45 minutes for dinner and not getting good service. I've been to the perk many times and this is always the problem. The food is fabulous but their costumer service is poor. The last time I was there I waited 45 minutes to be seated an the waitress was awful and was never around, the manager had to get us more drinks because the waitress was not there. My suggestion is to order takeout because the tine you wait standing there isn't worth it.

Easily the best place around in its price range. Meal for two is usually $30-40 for us. They give large portions and the food tastes great. Recommend the panko chicken and french onion soup. Only downside is the wait can be long because theyre so popular and they dont take reservations, but definitely worth the wait.

Love this place. Excellent service and the prices on their food cant be beat. They dont take reservations so go early. We always go on Friday nights and we plan on getting there at 4:45. It always amazes me to see how many people are already eating at that early hour. When we leave the line is out the door.

on the loud side, its really hard to find good parking, and theres a hectic intersection that The Perk is located at. but i understand that you cant exactly help that. wasnt too long of a wait, and the server/waitress my grandmother and i had was very sweet and wonderful!!

The Perk has a large selection of good food. They have a great staff and good prices. The only reason I didnt give them a better rating is because there bar is very small and usually crowded making it hard to get a drink at times.

Really, really good food. Especially the burgers! Family friendly. Tuesday night is cheesesteak night, Thursday night is crab cake night. On Tuesdays, theres a line out the door for their cheesesteaks which are really, really good.

Great food, friendly staff, always busy. They dont do takeout on the weekends, I appreciate the fact that they are so customer focussed for the dine-in crowd. Parking can be a challenge but its definitely worth the effort.

Went here on Thursday, where they had a crab special. I ordered the crab burger as the waitress recommended it and the burger was delicious. They also have a good variety of craft beers and the staff is really friendly.

FIVE STARS hands down. Inviting atmosphere, great food, staff is always stellar. You wont be disappointed. Once out the door, youll think about the next time youll be back. The Perk is a local treasure, time tested.

The food was excellent! The place was packed, which was proof of how well liked The Perk is. Get there early or stand in line. Great place, we are looking forward to returning. Fantastic burgers!
