my girlfriend who loves this restaurant decided to take me there since she knows i love sushi so she decided to have sushi at sakura. everything was great! the sushi, the place and the atmosphere. but there was one problem...the waitress!! everything was excellent until the bill came. our meal was $27.50 so we paid with a debit card and decided to leave her a tip of $6.00 in cash"WHICH IS MORE THAN 20% OF TOTAL BILL. the waitress took the card and the money, came back with the receipt and of course we didnt write anything additional for tip since we already left her a $6 tip. we walked out to our car and as we getting ready to leave, the waitress comes out of the restaurant with the receipt in hand, approaches to our car and tells us "we did not include any tip in the receipt." we told her we had lefted her $6.00 in cash. she said "no you didnt" basically, she was demanding a TIP "which in others words we did include" but i guess some how other waitress most it took the money from the table. what got us very offended was the waitress had the balls to come out of the restaurant and almost scream at us demanding her tip. i told my girlfriend, never again we would come here. it was very humiliating. on top of that another waitress comes out gives back up on the waitress that attend our table, stating that we did not include no tip. it was like if they were teaming up on us. its not my fault they dont pay attetion which tables they need to attend. noone wants to be bother with that. thats the employees fault for not having any control at the tables they attending. at the end i resquested to speak to a manager about this embarrasing moment i had with my girlfriend, but somehow the waitress who attend our table said (" oh dont worry, everything is taken care with the manager, the manager said is ok!")im guessing they did found the person or waitress who did took the money and did not want us to speak to a manager about their negligence.

Food was pretty good but they need to work on their communication between staff. For some reason we had two servers the whole time that didnt realize we were already being waited on by someone else and as soon as one would come over and ask us something, a minute or two later a diff server would come up and ask the same question or be confused as to what was ordered. It was almost as if they each thought it was their table. It is an open floor plan and a very small space on top of that so I dont understand why it was so difficult to see that one server already got the order(s) the first time around. It wasnt busy. There were 3 tables total.. Us included. Our convo was interrupted every few mins. nonstop. Also, not that its a big deal or anything at all, but each time they brought something over they messed up whos order it was. It was just me and another person.. Not a party of people or anything. Lol. Idk.. It was a bizarre experience. I used to serve/bartend for a long time so maybe I am just overly judgey when it comes to service but it wasnt a very pleasant experience, overall.

This sushi is excellent! Do not be turned off by the 50% off. I ordered three rolls. Sakura roll- this is the one that was in the shape of a flower. This was a unique combo with the pink soybean paper. I havent seen anything like this before. Spicy girl roll- Usually I dont order stuff with sauce on it but this wasnt too bad. you were still able to taste the fish. It is the roll to the left of the sakura with the sauce on it. Jumbo galaxy sashimi roll- The big one one on the right. This is a very substantial portion of fish. The roll was a little tough to eat in that it was falling apart. once it was in the mouth tho it was good. All the fish was supper fresh. I was able to get brown rice on all rolls (its a $.75 up-charge). No complaints on service. I went there late on Christmas eve and there was only a few people there. Not sure what it is like on a normal night. It is also a BYOB

My experience was beyond terrible. We were told a 20 minute wait for a table but were not seated for 40 minutes. After we were seated we had to wait another 10 minutes for our drink and appetizer order to be taken and we waited 20 minutes after that for our food order to be taken. The waitresses were all rude, except for one, and our hand rolls were falling apart once we finally got them over an hour and a half after arriving. I was afraid to drink my water too fast because I knew I would never get another one, and we had to share a napkin bc one of them was dropped on the floor, no one ever checked on us, and no tables around us were set. To top it all off, one of the waitresses reached across our table while we were eating and took our soy sauce away, but didnt ask us if we needed anything. To sum it up: the service was terrible, the food mediocre, and the experience was a disgrace

I completely agree with Catherine McCarthys review I experienced same things . Im a family of 7 and we always give a nice tip but I also expect good service. They seated us n got our drinks quickly (water and soda) but to take our order it took kinda long. The food wasnt bad but it wasnt fresh or tasty enough for me it tasted bland.. like refrigerated sushi at a market. The waitress didnt ask us if we needed anything until 10mins after we were done eating and half of us went to the bathroom thats when she came over to ask if we wanted anything else. 18% tip was added to the bill we didnt think she earned that much when she didnt even check on us until we were done eating. This place is overpriced when comparing the quality of food and service.

This is one of my favorite sushi spots to eat at, and I go at least once a month. Great dishes at fantastic prices. Unfortunately, I couldnt give five stars due to the takeout. The quality was not up to their usual standards as when you eat in. My warm roll was squeezed into the same dish as my cold roll along with the wasabi and ginger leaving some of my sushi to be covered in wasabi. I will say that when I picked up my order (on a Friday night), the place was packed with at least 10 people waiting for a table. That alone speaks for itself for how great the food is when eating there. However, I will know for next time that take out is not an option for me on a weekend night. I was disappointed in my order, but will definitely still dine in.

Horrible experience on multiple visits: The servers are not skilled or trained. My sons and I were ignored for 45 to 50 minutes, prior to receiving our meal. The wait time is excruciating. Manager is rude and provoked a public display of humiliation on another visit. He should be fired! An uneducated establishment for food and beverage service. Servers sweep the floor and also serve your food. Years ago they were great and attentive. The Management today is terrible. I do NOT recommend them at all. Even if the food is good, the lack of service ruins your night! I understand that they dont speak English but they can be nice and clean. The Sushi cooks let the food sit on the window for 20 minutes and never notified the server. So pathetic!
