Ive been frequenting Tako for 7 years, discovering it by chance only a couple months after it opened. Sometimes Ive gone a couple times a week, and I can easily say that Tako is one of the best sushi places in the Phila area. I understand that this is a strong statement, but its absolutely true. I have tried fantastic places in Center City, Cherry Hill, King of Prussia and everywhere else in the area but its hard to beat Tako. Every dish Ive had here is tasty and fresh. The rice is tender, moist and warm. The fish is crisp, fresh and delicate. The sauces are flavorful but not overpowering. Jay has a fantastic BYO here, even though it doesnt look like much from the outside. In the middle of a typical strip-mall, Tako consistently serves mouth-watering delights. You could easily spend twice or three times the money at other sushi joints and maybe get a slightly better meal. There are many others like me who consider it their favorite sushi and go regularly. Try it once and youll see why. Even though I have moved out of the Bensalem area, I still go back specifically for their sushi. Please dont think my review is a shill written by the restaraunt staff. I am just a fiercely loyal and happy customer.

Went there for dinner last night on a Friday. It took over an hour for our sushi rolls to come out. Was the food good? Yes. Would I ever go back? No! Service was absolutely terrible. When we asked what was the problem, we were told they had a lot of takeout orders. We saw 4 sushi chefs back there. Weve been to many popular sushi places on a busy night that had lots of takeout orders to manage as well. But we never sat at a table waiting for dinner to come out more than an hour from the soup and salad. Even that took a long time to get to the table. They were not apologetic, just matter-of-fact saying there were a lot of takeout orders and that sushi takes a long time to come. Those orders seem to supersede people who are actually dining in the restaurant. We wouldve ordered another couple of rolls, but were not willing to wait another hour. Weve been to other good places in that area, and wed go back to one of those again before ever setting foot in this place. My boyfriend normally is a very generous tipper, and he only left 10% because the service was so horrendous.

Since discovering Takos back in 2004 it quickly became my absolute favorite sushi place in the area. The unique selection of rolls, such as the fruitpunch roll, which includes sliced kiwi and strawberry laid atop the crab filled delight separates Takos from other standard sushi spots. Perfect for a group of friends to enjoy or I have taken almost every date Ive ever had here. They have private rooms that you take your shoes off for and sit in the comfort of some padded seating on the floor. Its a real intimate experience no matter who is involved. The seafood soup is a wonderful starter with your edemame and house salad with standard ginger dressing. The staff is amazing and always have a plastered smile on their face. Ive eaten sushi everywhere from PA to CA and this is my favorite overall spot. Trust me on this one, I know my food.

I can not tell you how dissapointed I was tonight. The food is delicious, always is... but as soon as we signed for the check, and I mean AS SOON AS we closed the check book, we were told they needed the table. NEEDED the table? Sure they were busy, it was Friday night but I have NEVER been asked to leave ANYWHERE before. I would have liked to atleast finished my soda. I called, we had a reservation. We werent even there an hour. I am so mad about this. I was out with family who I dont see often enough, raved over Tako and then was rushed out. I just could not believe it.

Pretty good food. Lots of options, almost too many! Good variety, some things more traditional, plus some interesting fusion things. Standard prices youd expect of a Japanese restaurant. Sushi was great. Served at room temperature, as it should be. Rice was properly cooked. Those seem like little things, but theyre surprisingly hard to come by in American sushi places. On another note, it was pretty crowded in there and there seemed to only be two waitresses for everyone, but we werent in a rush so it was okay.

Terrible food. The sushi is overpriced and lacks flavor. The fish looked older. We ordered pan fried noodles and it smelled like a wet dog(not even kidding). They shouldnt have charged anything for those meals, but made us still pay for one of them. We didnt even eat any of the meals. The service was awful! They asked for refills of drink when they handed the check at the end. Go to Sakura off of Street Road, they never disappoint!

Best sushi in Bensalem and probably the best Ive had in the US. Id have to travel to Japan to compare the quality overall, but their sushi is always fresh and the sushi rice is always perfectly cooked and prepared. Other sushi restaurants tend to overcook the rice to mushy oblivion. Very nice selection of rolls with some unique combinations. The Everything Tuna roll (not on the menu) is a hidden gem that you must order!!

This is a great sushi restaurant. Prices are pretty high, but the quality makes it worth it. They have private rooms where you take your shoes off and sit on a raised platform. We have brought many friends and shared lots of wine in those little party rooms. They also have a large one that can seat like 20+ people. BYOB and accept credit cards. Staff is very kind and attentive.

Tako doesnt look like much -from the outside. Its clean and pleasant inside, you can sit at a table, the Sushi Bar or one of the private enclosed rooms. The fish is always fresh. Lots of Maki (rolls) to select from. I go with friends usually, but I like the food so much I will go to the Sushi bar alone just to eat. No liquor, I wish they had Japanese beer.

Since discovering Tako and Jay about 4 years back this has been my absolute favorite sushi. I have eaten here over a hundred times (probably two hundred) and I the sushi has been excellent every time. And Jays rolls are fantastic. When my children are in the area this is where they want to go. Guess where I am going this evening.

Love this place! My family has been coming here for more than 15 years. All of our important birthdays are celebrated here and weve never, ever had a bad meal. yes, the prices have gone up :-( but try getting good sushi in Philly and youll pay the same. I cant recommend this place enough!!!

This is the best Sushi in the area hands down. The sushi and special rolls are amazing. The flavor combinations will leave you smiling. I highly recommend trying just about every special roll. This will require multiple trips because they are a little bit expensive but so worth it.

The service was lightening fast for me. The servers were absolutely darling while I was having a hard time choosing what I wanted. The food was really good also. The only thing i didnt like was the fried ice cream. Not the best thing in the world but hey, you cant win them all.
