Tokyo steak house - July 21, Friday 8 pm Est First impressions: Upon parking in the back lot and trying to figure my way into the small castle sized building, I finally managed to find the entrance. Once inside I seated myself at the bar being greeted accordingly. The bar was staffed with two servers and one manager m/ owner. The servers seemed stressed and remarked twice about not wanting to be yelled at by management. Once for asking to change a tv to the news and the other for asking if there was Wi-Fi. The owner manager I could tell was the source of their concern. A little woman of Asian decent looking over the two employees shoulders and speaking loudly and frankly about a smell, the heat and having little regard for her guests. I said hello this is a nice place twice with complete ignorance to any of my comments. The manager for a Friday night seemed more preoccupied with cleaning the bar then the guests sitting trying to eat at it. She had a contractor come in to do work during the dinner hours. Very distracting. Roland the bartender/server was the only saving grace of this place. He did an excellent job. Food: For a steak house and sushi establishment the menu was extremely limited. Two types of cuts of meat being sirloin and filet mignon. And very small in total ounces. Very limited in sushi and sashimi. Basics included at high prices for basics. Tuna. What kind? Uni. From where? Any specialty rolls or entrees? No. Sashimi and sushi combo platter. And the servers had no idea what was on the platter except to say, "assorted". Starting course: miso soup. Horrible. Old cabbage and bland is an understatement. Tasted quite frankly like gym socks. So far the canned Sapporo is the best thing about this place. Main course: "sushi/sashimi assortment" Did this fish come from the west coast? Because it had to be contaminated by Fukushima radiation then flash frozen then thawed to just below freezing then thawed and prepared. Dry, tasteless and unmoving. The alleged "Maguro" had the only life to it. This the second star. It happens to be my favorite tuna. And even it had a texture lacking in crispness but alas always delicious. My insincere apologies Tokyo, but Japan you are not.

Prepare to wait a long time for your server even when noone is in the restaurant. Ours, Tim, had to be asked for waters then he would bring 1 instead of 3. Then when empty wouldnt offer to refill. Then when asked for waters for everyone (we also had tea) he would bring 2 instead of 3 leaving 1 still empty. When asked for another after sitting for a long period trying to down the salty food for 10 minutes before coming around again he would reply with a "yes sir" like it was a request from above. The place is disorganized and the staff, which there was a lot, seems to be like to stand around and when you walk past them leaving they dont thank you for coming. Overall a low class "Steakhouse" and experience.

I tried a lot of new stuff yesterday. Sashimi for the first time, a lot of new types of sushi, and Miso Soup. The food was amazing, and Andrew, the man who worked our table, was a dear. And that is saying something. Because another guy at our table was giving him a really hard time from the start, but Andrew took it in stride and had the friendliest disposition despite the rude man. We caught some food right out of the air, a last minute treat where the chef tosses them, and it was just a really fun, energetic experience. Definitely will be going back!

Terrible visit. Went to Tokyo Steakhouse last night, not our first visit as we are locals. We were seated immediately, party of 5 for the hibachi. Fifteen minutes later we were still waiting for someone to come to our table to take our orders while two other groups who arrived after us were seated and drink orders taken. Needless to say we got up and left. Doubt if theyll be getting any of our business again...

Food was great and overall service was great. Restaurant was clean and staff was friendly. My only complaint is that I ordered the same drink twice and once it came pink and fruity with no alcohol taste and the other time it came orange with a stronger taste of alcohol. Both drinks were good but they need consistency.

Not only was the bartender Todd hospitable and friendly, he was extremely attentive to all of my needs. I watched him work. He was like a machine, never missing a step. Very professional. If not a manager yet he deserves to be! (Also, kinda hot!)

Its a good place to go for a charge from the usual, but the food seems generic and the sushi is merely par. There are much better steaks up the road, and the other options for sushi blow this place away.

Loved the sushi--their summer roll is basically the same as the Hairy Mexican from Stingray. They also have great plum wine! Overall, excellent restaurant. Ive never had a bad experience here.

Good experience. Chef was great fun. However, regarding the food, the scallops were heavily does with phosphates and were absolutely terrible. Order the steak.
