Horrible Experience! Place must have sold. All new staff, everything tasted fishy, service was terrible, waitress was so frustrated at manager, she literally quit and walked out in the middle of our meal!! Every patron in the restaurant had the look of frustration in their eyes. Ive never experienced anything this bad in my life. Weve been coming here for years, and had noticed the quality slipping, but this dine in experience put the nail in the coffin for us. RIP Hikaru, we will miss the OLD you!!

We ate here on a moderately busy Friday night and shared small plates of awesome vegetarian food, finished off with a beautiful (fish-less) veggie sushi and sashimi plate. Drank wine and saki, had decent service (at times a little slow, but the staff was really kind and accommodating). The atmosphere was warm and inviting and the meal was decently priced. Cant wait to go back!

This was a great place to eat. It was very low key, and relaxed atmosphere. I expected it to be much busier than it was for a Saturday night, But as a result the service was great the food came out promptly and it was delicious. The restaurant was very nicely decorated as well.

I love this place. I have been here twice: one with a friend and then with my date. Perfect for a romantic date if you ask to the seated at the floor mats. The sushi rolls are great and you can have a large variety. Prices are cheap And affordable. Desert variety is not large.

Ive been coming here regularly for thirty years. This was the FIRST Japanese restaurant in Philadelphia. Solid, clean, friendly. If you are looking for good food in a quiet atmosphere, this is for you. The staff has always been wonderful to us.

Due to the change of the ownership, the restaurant has lost lots of the characters under the original owners. What used to be a gem in Philadephia in Japanese cuisine is now a sub-standard eatery.

Authentic feel and a delicious series of sushi roll options. The staff is very courteous and theres a traditional Japanese-style seating section in the back corner. Definitely recommend.
